Zap: Masters of Psychedelic Art, 1965-1974 Andrew Edlin Gallery, NYC Through June 25, 2011
I was an impressionable teen in the late 1960s, and Zap commix brought me a front row seat, albeit a twisted one, to a world of drugs, sex, psychedelia, violence, brilliance, and stupidity. As mentioned in essay by Gary Panter and Chris Byrne, the exhibition's curators state how the Zap artists "dared to critique and satirize the messy cultural and social network in progress." The Zap artists let it all hang out, literally and figuratively, and they targeted their like-minded peers as well, making it all the more compelling.

Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa have brought their playful spirit to the set of "Live with Regis and Kelly" as they filmed a "Water Toys" segment. The hosts were snapped having a lot of fun while engaging in a sort of water gun war during the taping on Wednesday, June 8.
Wearing a yellow rain coat to protect themselves from getting wet, Regis and Kelly experimented with various kinds of water toys outside ABC studios. At some moments, "The Toy Guy" Chris Byrne was seen joining them in the frame, seemingly to give instruction to the talk show's hosts.
It is unclear when this segment would air. Stars scheduled to appear for the rest of this week include Carla Gugino and Natasha Bedingfield in a Thursday (June 9) episode, and Jason Lee, Jennifer Lawrence and Chef Kenny Callaghan in a Friday (June 10) episode.
