A detailed, time lined and fed up open letter has attempted to answer such a question. Badassdom.com is an anonymously-created site from a stakeholder, who alleges Wade Bradley, CEO of IndieVest and now Media Society has effectively taken Knights Of Badassdom “hostage.” Following its Comic Con preview in July 2011, it seems Bradley forcibly removed Mark Burton (president) and Matt Wall (writer) from their positions in the production company and has been on a roll of re-editing and financially draining resources since. The result is accusing Bradley’s new Media Society of ignoring the creatives and investors of Knights Of Badassdom, seeking additional funds, as well as planning to hold a private sales screening of a drastically recut 70-minute version of the film tomorrow, March 5th.
It seems those involved in Knights Of Badassdom and IndieVest are attempting to wrestle control from Bradley, linking to additional reporting of misdeeds, as...

Actor Mike Epps is joining the cast of "Nina," the Nina Simone biopic written and directed by Cynthia Mort.
Epps will play comedian Richard Pryor, reports the Hollywood Reporter. Prior opened for Simone during early days of the performer's respective careers.
The film is being produced by Mark Burton, Barnaby Thompson, Stuart Parr and Ben Latham Jones. Zoe Saldana will star as the as the legendary singer and activist -- a controversial casting decision that has come under close scrutiny since its announcement this summer.
Many Simone fans have spoken out against Saldana playing the singer, saying the actress was not the right choice for the role because she resembled Simone.
Simone's daughter, Simone Kelly, a Broadway actress and singer, has also taken issue with the film telling Ebony.com she has been totally left out of the planning and production of the biopic.

The horror comedy Knights of Badassdom has a new trailer, which was recently released at the San Diego Comic Con. The film stars Steve Zahn, Peter Dinklage, and Summer Glau, in a film set in the Larp universe. Of course, Larp stands for Live Action Role Playing and the film looks like a page out of medieval times.
In the clip, a Larp showdown turns dangerous when Eric (Zahn) releases a succubus during his make believe spellcasting. Then friends die and Eric must make right that which is truly evil and wrong. Have a look at the clip inside, with Knights of Badassdom likely to release later in 2011.
The synopsis for Knights of Badassdom is below:
"In this comedic fantasy adventure, Joe (Ryan Kwanten) is a heavy metal rocker who's just gone through a painful breakup with his girlfriend, Beth (Margarita Levieva). His concerned roommates (Steve Zahn, Peter Dinklage) kidnap...

IndieVest Pictures, the L.A.-based indie film financier and distributor, has struck a home entertainment output deal with Vivendi Entertainment. While Indie will handle its own theatrical distribution, Vivendi will handle TV, VOD and DVD as well as digital and mobile rights for IndieVest titles.
IndieVest, which aims to produce six to eight films a year, will launch its first release, Hue Rhode's "Saint John of Las Vegas," in February. The film stars Steve Buscemi, Romany Malco, Sarah Silverman, Tim Blake Nelson, Peter Dinklage, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Jesse Garcia and John Cho.
"We are creating a multi-genre, commercially driven, production slate that guarantees our filmmakers theatrical distribution, and can't imagine a better home entertainment partner than Vivendi Entertainment to bring our titles to the largest possible audiences," IndieVest president Mark Burton said.
The deal was negotiated by Yolanda Macias on behalf of Vivendi and Mark Burton and attorney Glenn Feig for IndieVest Pictures.

- There's just something about Steve Buscemi that's irresistible. Sure, he looks a little creepy, and he's always picking really strange parts. From incidental pedophile (Ghost World) to killer (Reservoir Dogs), he's somehow impossible to dislike. Now, Buscemi is adding another role to his handsome resume: star of Saint John of Las Vegas.Based upon Dante's Inferno, Las Vegas tells the story of an ex-gambler (Buscemi) and an insurance fraud investigator (Romany Malco). While not much other information is currently available, the cast is enough to spark some interest: along with Buscemi and Malco, Emily Mortimer, Tim Blake Nelson, John Cho, Emmanuelle Chriqui, and Peter Dinklage star. This picture marks the first feature-length venture for writer/director Hue Rhodes and Buscemi's Olive Productions. The film will be produced by Mark Burton and Matt Wall (IndieVest), Lawrence Mattis and Kelly McCormick (Circle of Confusion). Buscemi, Stanley Tucci, Wren Arthur, and Spike Lee will executive produce.

Producer Mark Burton will join Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe as a partner in Accomplice Films. The trio also said that William Hurt has signed on to topline the ensemble drama Beautiful Ohio, the first project to be made under the Accomplice Films banner. The film, which will begin shooting next month in New York, marks Lowe's feature film directorial debut. Novelist Ethan Canin adapted the script from his short story "Batorsag & Szerelem." The story revolves around an American family grappling with the chaotic social changes of 1973. "I am thrilled to be partnering with Hilary and Chad, who both share tremendous integrity, passion and terrific instincts for great stories," Burton said.
