Wme has signed The Killing‘s Joel Kinnaman, the agency said in a wide announcement. The Stockholm-bred thesp crossed over stateside as the street-tough Detective Holder on AMC’s cop show and starred in MGM and Sony’s RoboCop reboot earlier this year. The Killing was revived for a fourth season on Netflix this month. Kinnaman, previously with CAA, stars opposite Liam Neeson in WB’s 2015 crime actioner Run All Night and has Summit/Lionsgate’s Child 44 with Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman, and Noomi Rapace opening in April. The fast-ascending actor first broke out in his native Sweden thanks to roles in the Johan Falk film series and Daniel Espinosa’s Snabba Cash (Easy Money) trilogy. He also appeared in Espinosa’s English-language crime pic Safe House, Lola Versus, and David Fincher’s The Girl With THe Dragon Tattoo. Kinnaman continues to be repped by manager Shelley Browning at Magnolia and attorney Hansen Jacobson.

Kinnaman gained a following in Hollywood for his work in The Killing, which recently streamed its fourth and final season on Netflix. But the movie that was to have been his breakthrough into the mainstream, Robocop, fizzled in the U.S. when it was released earlier this year.

Exclusive: Isaiah Washington has ditched his management reps at Caliber Media only four months after signing with the firm. Sources say it was a dispute over commission percentages and a variety of projects that the company had found for Washington. The former Grey’s Anatomy actor signed with Caliber Media and Inqlusion Entertainment for representation in all areas back in March after leaving Apa. Washington was hot earlier this year coming off of his Sundance pic Blue Caprice, the Beltway sniper drama he exec produced. IFC’s Sundance Selects will release the film on September 13. He next stars in John Sayles’ upcoming Go For Sisters, The Trials of Cate McCall with Kate Beckinsale, and The CW’s midseason series The Hundred. Meanwhile, Brittany Snow (Pitch Perfect, Hairspray) is expanding her management team. She’s signed with Magnolia Entertainment where she’ll be repped by Kimberlin Belloni and Shelley Browning. Joel Kinnaman has signed with CAA, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter. The Killing star left UTA last week. He continues to be represented by manager Shelley Browning of Magnolia Entertainment and attorney Adam Kaller. Kinnaman is the Swedish actor who first caught Hollywood's eye in the gritty thriller Snabba Cash (Easy Money) before nabbing the male lead in AMC's acclaimed drama Killing. He recently wrapped what could be the movie that catapults him into the mainstream, MGM's high-profile Robocop reboot. Kinnaman has two projects lined up which he will tackle after finishing work on season 3 of Killing. He

Previous: Magnolia Client Rachel McAdams Fires UTA Update: Magnolia Entertainment manager Shelley Browning’s inexplicable and one-sided battle against UTA co-owner Tracey Jacobs rages on. Last month, Browning was behind Rachel McAdams firing UTA after a seven-year stint with Jacobs. Now two Swedish actors who are both Magnolia clients follow McAdams out the door for no reason: Joel Kinnaman and Noomi Rapace. Since becoming Browning’s client, Rapace has bounced between Hollywood agencies: first UTA, then Wme, then back to UTA, and now out of UTA. Among the only Magnolia clients left at UTA is Daniel Espinosa (Safe House) who is directing Kinnaman and Rapace with Tom Hardy in Child 44.

Rising stars Joel Kinnaman and Noomi Rapace have abruptly left United Talent Agency, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Sources say the Swedish actors individually informed the agency of their plans to sever ties on Friday morning. Both continue to be represented by manager Shelley Browning and Magnolia Entertainment. The moves come nearly a month after Rachel McAdams, another high-profile Magnolia client, exited UTA on April 19. Kinnaman, Rapace and McAdams all were represented by UTA partner Tracey Jacobs. Both Kinnaman and Rapace are considered up-and-coming talents who were part of a Swedish wave that splashed through

Exclusive: CBS Films has attached Babak Najafi to direct the action thriller Inside The Machine. Najafi, who just helmed Snabba Cash 2 (aka Easy Money 2), will helm a drama that follows an El Paso-based undercover Atf agent who risks his life to destroy a murder-for-hire gang that is run from within a prison by an untouchable criminal mastermind. The script is by Marc Maurino, and Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of Contrafilms are producing. Vinson called Najafi “an incredibly talented filmmaker who is going to blow audiences away with his ability to deliver an adrenaline-fueled thriller.” Najafiu will work closely with Maurino on developing the script. Najafi made his directorial debut with Sebbe, which won Best Debut Film at Berlin in 2010. He’s separately attached to Unlocked for Endgame. UTA and manager Shelley Browning of Magnolia Entertainment rep him, and CBS’ Mark Ross and Ryan Conroy are overseeing the project.

Exclusive… Update: Rachel McAdams and her Magnolia Entertainment manager Shelley Browning today fired UTA after a seven-year stint together. Browning met with Tracey Jacobs and other members of Rachel McAdams’ agency team this afternoon. Howard Fishman remains her attorney. I hear CAA’s Dave Buligari is chasing ”very intensely”. McAdams (who just dyed her hair red) is going to co-star in Cameron Crowe’s next movie alongside Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone for Sony Pictures. This exit is particularly puzzling because Browning and Jacobs have several clients together including Daniel Espinosa and Joel Kinnaman. “UTA is at a complete loss. They can’t figure this out,” an insider tells me. Look, I’ve always thought Browning is a pain in the ass. And so is Scott Rudin who’s producing the untitled picture which starts shooting in September/October. The result of putting them together is drama, drama, drama. (“And...
