Note: The following discusses spoilers for “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 19 Episode 11.
ABC touted Thursday’s episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” as the beginning of an intense two-part event for the long-running medical drama. With a season-long storyline on women’s rights and reproductive rights coming to a head, the return of Kate Walsh’s Addison Montgomery and a life-threatening cliffhanger, the hour delivered in spades.
The hour also marked a major milestone for longtime cast member Kim Raver (who plays newly appointed chief or surgery Teddy Altman), as she stepped into the TV director’s chair for the first time for one of Season 19’s most pivotal episodes yet.
Titled “Training Day,” the episode revolved around the Grey Sloan Memorial hospital staff preparing to host a seminar for out-of-state Ob-gyn practitioners with the help of fan-favorite Dr. Addison Montgomery. The doctor, who was a series regular on “Grey’s” in Season 2-...

Lifetime has done it again with a harrowing but thoughtful film on domestic abuse.
Sleeping With Danger is the first in a two-night true crime series based on Ann Rule's Mortal Danger True Crime Collection.
And with incredibly strong performances by Elisabeth Röhm and Antonio Cupo, powerful writing, and artful direction and more, Lifetime delivered a compelling and impactful piece.
When Kim Raver and Manu Boyer come together with Lifetime for films, magic seems to happen. We've seen it before with the Jane Green book-to-series event, and we are seeing it again now.
It's something about the style of their films that feels unique for the network. Their movies are elevated and high-brow.
They never exhibit a hint of camp, and they somehow skirt that indie vibe that's just a touch dramatic.
Remarkably, a network that can bring us cheesy Christmas movies and campy thrillers also excels with some of the most beautifully crafted,...

Lifetime Expands ‘Ripped From The Headlines’ Slate with Five Movies Inspired by Ann Rule (Exclusive)
Lifetime has greenlit five new movies for its “Ripped from the Headlines” slate, all from best-selling true crime author Ann Rule, Variety has learned exclusively. Additionally, Ashley Williams and Robin Givens will make their small-screen directorial debuts with two of these films.
These five films come from Rule’s books “Danger in the Dorm,” “Mortan Danger,” “Practice to Deceive,” “Bitter Harvest” and “Empty Promises” and are being prepped for a summer launch. As part of Lifetime’s Broader Focus Initiative, four out of the five directors of these films are women, and three out of the five films were written by women.
“Bitter Harvest” tells the story of a brilliant doctor and mother who had the epitome of a picture perfect life with three children, an adoring husband and a beautiful house in an opulent neighborhood — but behind the curtain was a rocky marriage that takes a terrible turn and leaves her family in ruin.

Actress Kim Raver and filmmaker Manu Boyer re-listed a sophisticated contemporary bungalow in the still somewhat gritty and funky but none-the-less sought after heart of Venice, Calif., with a new and lower price of $3.399 million. Married since 2000, the couple have owned the modestly sized but, for most people, still prohibitively pricey property since 2006 when it was acquired for $1.735 million. Originally designed by Venice architect Lise Claiborne Matthews with later renovations by the Venice-based architecture firm Gabor + Allen, the low-profile two-story contemporary is secured behind a rusted steel gate and all but invisible behind a tall wall and a higher hedge on one of Venice’s pedestrian-only “walk-streets” just outside the urbane Abbott Kinney shopping and dining district with three and potentially four bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,018-square-feet.

The actor Formerly Known As Fez has a new mission. Wilmer Valderrama has joined the cast of “NCIS,” playing a NCIS field agent who’s been under deep cover for years – and has finally resurfaced.
“Many agents don’t know he’s still on the job or that he’s even alive,” according to CBS’ logline. “Now, he’s back and his dedication to job and country has left him an unpredictable, charismatic loose cannon.”
Valderrama helps fill a void left by departing “NCIS” castmember Michael Weatherly. The actor recently recurred on “Grey’s Anatomy” and also appeared on “Minority Report,” “From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series” and “Awake.” He first came to fame as “Fez” on Fox’s “That ’70s Show.”
The actor’s film credits include the indie dramas “To Whom It May Concern,” from French director Manu Boyer, and “The Adderall Diaries,” opposite Amber Heard and James Franco,...

• With a title like The Prince, die-hard Bruce Willis fans might worry that he’s decided to go from blue collar to blue blood. Thankfully, it’s a little misleading. Armenian director Sarik Andreasyan (American Heist) will tell the story of a retired Las Vegas mobster who must return to the city when he discovers that his teenage daughter is missing. Willis will play the man who has been cautiously awaiting the return of the mob enforcer. Filming will begin in New Orleans in October. Willis’s next scheduled release is Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, which hits theaters Aug.

Two thirds of the ladies of Lipstick Jungle, Brooke Shields and Kim Raver, brought their kids to the Cookie magazine Kidsfest bash in NYC on Sunday. Kim posed on the pink carpet with husband Manu Boyer and their two boys, Leo and Luke, while Brooke Shields kept an eye on her youngest daughter Grier and denied reports of their reportedly canceled show. Of the rumors, she said, "It's not true. . . They're not breaking down the sets. We’re still working. We still have more to do, so it's erroneously presented that we’ve been canceled, thank God." Hopefully Brooke is right, since we have grown to love the show this season after another good episode — not to mention continuing to check out their great style and fabulous set decorations.
