Rob Letterman (Monsters Vs. Aliens, Shark Tale) is set to make his second live-action film. THR reports that SyFy Films has picked up The Paranormalists, a supernatural found footage movie that Letterman will write and direct. The story will deal with a "haunted house which is entered by a group of men and women intent on debunking the presence of spirits. As they say, things don’t go as planned."
The Paranormalists will be produced by Brian Grazer, with Kim Roth and Sarah Bowen serving as executive producers. Universal and Syfy joined forces on SyFy Films to make low-budget genre movies. This will be the second project they have worked on together. The project is said to add a quirky tone to the regular shaky-cam format of found footage films.
I am usually not a fan of found footage films, but this may be good. Letterman has a decent track record with animated films.
