Bryan Bowen was born in Germany to Malaysian and British parents. Bryan designed sound for
No Time to Die (2021) the 25th James Bond movie and recently completed the sixth and final season of
Lucifer (2016) for Netflix as Supervising Sound Editor. He has received three Primetime Emmy Awards nominations (one win) for his work on the HBO Miniseries
John Adams (2008) directed by
Tom Hooper and another for the HBO movie
Temple Grandin (2010) directed by
Mick Jackson. Bryan began his sound career working in theatre in the UK, designing sound for numerous original shows in his tenure as Head of Sound at The Royal Court and Young Vic, along with many West End Productions. He designed sound for shows such as King Lear, starring
Tom Wilkinson, Our Country's Good with
Jim Broadbent, Top Girls with
Lesley Manville, Death and The Maiden and Six Degrees of Separation collaborating with many notable directors including
Max Stafford-Clark,
George C. Wolfe,
Danny Boyle and
Phyllida Lloyd. In the early 90's, Bryan moved to the US with his wife, actress
Carole Ruggier to work in film and TV.
