| Vicky Leander Bornedal | (? - ?) |
Theatre manager of Aveny Teatret in Copenhagen 2001-2005.
In the mid-'90s he was given a multi-picture deal with Miramax and directed the American remake of his Danish hit, Nattevagten (1994). He helped produce Mimic (1997) and worked as a script supervisor, and according to his own statements was offered the chance to direct the sequel to Total Recall (1990) as well as the project that ended up as Wes Craven's Scream (1996/I). At one point he abandoned another project because he refused to wait for Tom Cruise's schedule to clear up, and he eventually left his deal to return to Scandinavian filmmaking.
Applied to the National Film School of Denmark, but was not accepted. He humorously describes his interview in front of a committee consisting of a bored Mogens Rukov, a flirtatious Kirsten Thorup and Jørgen Leth, who allegedly left the room.
Says he first decided he wanted to work in film when he saw an Antonioni film when he was fourteen.
Before his film career he worked for Danish broadcaster DR, especially in radio documentary.
He is also the director of the "Storebælt" commercials starring Sanne (played by Pernille Valentin).
