Actress Katrina Bowden recalled her most-embarrassing moment on 30 Rock in her new uInterview.
The 2006-2013 half-hour comedy 30 Rock, inspired by the behind-the-scenes antics at Saturday Night Live, revolves around Liz Lemon, the head writer for a live sketch comedy series in New York City.
One of her favorite memories from her time on the show was also her most embarrassing. “I remember in one of the earlier seasons,” she told uinterview founder Erik Meers, “there was a scene where they were filming in Kenneth’s apartment for the first time. Jack McBrayer took me around the set because he had to bring some personal family photos. They had to decorate it and everything, and he wanted us to see. I was so much younger than everybody on that cast; I think I was 18 at the time, or maybe 19, and I knew he had had these family pictures that...

Eminem has returned with “Houdini,” the lead single from his forthcoming new album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
“Houdini” is the first single to arrive since Eminem announced The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) last month. In the corresponding music video, a portal from 2002 opens, allowing his former-self from his to step into the present. From there, he recreates his iconic “Without Me” video, as present-day Eminem sets out to find 2002 Eminem, with the two encountering everyone from Dr. Dre to Snoop Dogg, Shane Gillis, Paul Rosenberg, and more along the way.
Ultimately, the Eminems have a roof-top showdown and merge together, becoming a “monster.” Then, he jestingly goes on the offense against everyone from Dr. Dre to Rosenberg, his own kids, and more. After all of that, Pete Davidson takes over as the driver of his car (with the assurance that he “just got...

The Death of Slim Shady is forthcoming as Eminem releases his new song “Houdini,” a single aimed at making his “career disappear.”
“Little baby devil with the forked tongue and it’s stickin’ out,” raps Eminem in the opening verse, before he adds, “Still a white jerk pullin’ up in a Chrysler to the cypher with the Vics, Percs, and a Bud Light shirt.”
Elsewhere on the track, the rapper shouts-out the “Hot Girl Summer” star: “If I was to ask for Megan Thee Stallion if she would collab with...

The stunt took weeks of preparation. Building a tank. Training with freedivers and magicians. Developing the filming schedule.
The end result of the effort, a new episode of YouTube star Michelle Khare’s series Challenge Accepted in which she attempted to recreate Harry Houdini’s deadliest trick, has since garnered more than 4.5 million views on YouTube.
The final product has a production quality that would rival what’s on “traditional” TV (in fact, magician David Blaine attempted a similar stunt for a 2006 primetime ABC special), but Khare produced the episode herself, for her YouTube audience.
“For Challenge Accepted because we release very infrequently — unlike a normal season of television, it’s about 10 to 15 episodes a year — and within each of those episodes, we are representing a unique community,” Khare says in an interview. “So for example, in the video where I attempted Harry Houdini’s deadliest magic trick, we’re...

Fiona Apple is the go-to songwriter for exorcising your romantic demons, ruing the ones you loved, the ones who didn’t love you back, the ones you pushed away amid yet another freefall of your own design. She’s also the go-to singer for three studio comedy auteurs: Michael Showalter, Judd Apatow, and Paul Feig.
Apple’s songs have featured in three of their films — Apple wrote the original song “Dull Tool” for Apatow’s “This Is 40,” capturing a decades-long marriage at its breaking point. Elsewhere, her epic ball of romantic resignation “Cosmonauts,” off the 2020 album “Fetch the Bolt Cutters,” was also originally meant for that film. Meanwhile, her classic cabaret-inspired love song “Paper Bag,” about having too much emotional baggage to enter into a new relationship she wants “so bad, oh it kills,” featured in Feig’s “Bridesmaids” in a montage of Annie (Kristen Wiig) making cupcakes as...

Forget the clichés about the Vegas residency being a déclassé prelude to retirement. Since 2003, when Céline Dion began her $681.3 million residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, talent has been clamoring for coveted spots on Vegas stages. Chart toppers who could fill arenas across the country are setting up shop in Vegas to take advantage of state-of-the-art venues such as Dolby Live at Park MGM or the new Resorts World Theatre. Among the megastars with recent runs are Silk Sonic, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Luke Bryan and Usher, whose kinetic show was a celebrity magnet, attracting the likes of Tom Holland and Zendaya.
But with all of the above moving on, who will take their place as must-see resident artists? The most obvious — or at least most imminent — candidate is U2, whose 25-date show, U2:uv Achtung Baby Live at Sphere, debuts Sept. 29 at the 20,000-seat venue, the most capacious to ever host a residency.

"Avatar: The Way of Water" is out on digital. Perhaps you've heard of it? The long-awaited sequel to 2009's "Avatar" by James Cameron made almost $2.5 billion at the box office. It continues the story of the Sully family as they hide out from the humans of the Rda, who have returned to Pandora after years away. The family finds sanctuary with the Metkayina, a water-based group of Na'vi who have developed physical adaptations for swimming.
You may have heard the stories on-set of the actors holding their breath underwater, aka freediving, for a very long time. This includes Kate Winslet — who played Ronal, one of the Metkayina — holding her breath for a whopping seven minutes and 15 seconds. In fact, all the swimming scenes were done "wet for wet," meaning that they were all shot underwater. That meant the actors had to learn to swim under the surface for a long time without scuba gear,...

Members of the crew rushed to Blaine’s side to help him, but ended up asking for help from any doctors in the audience who could pop his shoulder back into place.
Five medical professionals made themselves known and worked to fix his shoulder on stage, relocating it so that Blaine could continue with the show.

Salma Hayek is a happily married woman but it took a long road to get there.
The actress married French businessman François-Henri Pinault in 2009 on Valentine’s Day. Ahead of their anniversary, Hayek is thinking back to the “intervention” that led to their union.
“I didn’t even know I was getting married that day,” she recalled to Glamour, via People. “It was like an intervention. I don’t think I ever told this story. No, they just took me to the court. My parents, my brother, they were all ganging up on me. I had a phobia of the marriage thing.”
The two had been dating since 2006 and even welcomed a daughter together in 2007.
Still, she had to be “dragged” to the courthouse by her family to go through the ceremony.

David Blaine dropped by Thursday’s edition of “The Tonight Show” to promote his new Las Vegas residency, and demonstrated some wild illusions that freaked out host Jimmy Fallon.
Blaine began with a card trick that took a bizarre turn when he asked a very reluctant Fallon to smash the palm of his hand down on a card that had a sharp pin sticking out of it, resulting in the card sticking to his hand.
That was just the warmup, with Blaine completely blowing away Fallon by eating a bowl of nails. “Oh my god!” the host declared. “This is insane right now.”

After swallowing numerous nails, Blaine then proceeded to start regurgitating them — only instead of spitting out the nails he’d munched, he instead expelled a live frog from his mouth.

Marques Brownlee firmly falls into the “Og” YouTuber category. The tech reviewer, also known as Mkbhd, first started posting tech videos to YouTube in 2009 as a young teen, sharing software tutorials and webcam-shot reviews of hardware like the remote that came with his Hp laptop.
Thirteen years later, Brownlee has one of the most popular tech channels on YouTube with 15.8 million subscribers and is a respected voice in the industry. In addition to reviewing the latest tech releases, Brownlee has brought on top executives like Sundar Pichai, Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates and Elon Musk for interviews on his channel and podcast.
As the creator industry has expanded into new mediums and seen an influx of influencer brand deals, Brownlee said the majority of his revenue still comes from ads on YouTube, allowing him to be pickier about the brand deals he does accept.

Susanne Daniels is exiting YouTube after nearly seven years at the Google-owned global video-sharing company. The YouTube global head of original content will depart in March.
The veteran exec, whose career has included president roles at The WB, Lifetime and MTV, helped oversee YouTube’s dive into originals in 2015, developing premium series “Cobra Kai,” which early on was a key player for the YouTube Red service (later rebranded as YouTube Premium).
“YouTube’s the biggest and best video platform in the world and what an exciting and tremendous experience I’ve had working to create meaningful programming for global users of all ages and backgrounds,” Daniels said. “I’m so proud that our Yto content could contribute to the ongoing growth and success of this remarkable platform, and I look forward to new adventures ahead.”

YouTube Global Head of Original Content Susanne Daniels has resigned after over six years, during which she built the original content division of the company. YouTube Originals is coming off Q4 2021 as its most-watched quarter ever with 1.3 billion views.
Daniels, a respected veteran TV executive, joined YouTube Originals in 2015 when the video-sharing giant had announced the launch of a premium subscription tier with high-end original scripted programming. She developed and launched such series as Cobra Kai, which set YouTube viewership records before moving to Netflix and earning Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series, Step-Up (now on Starz), On Becoming A God In Central Florida (moved to Showtime) Wayne (available on Prime Video) and Impulse from Doug Liman.

The Manhattan district attorney’s office, which is investigating former President Donald Trump’s business dealings for potential criminal activity, has convened a special grand jury to decide whether to indict Trump. “Late Night” host Seth Meyers noted that for Trump’s entire presidency there was a “thin veneer of crime” over everything he did. “You wouldn’t have been surprised to see a lower third on CNN that read ‘Trump meets with Polish president who claims his wallet is missing.’”
Meyers was surprised it took two years for the case to reach this point. “Trump has arguably confessed to multiple crimes in public, incited a violent insurrection, been impeached twice, was an unindicted co-conspirator in a hush money case, paid just $750 in federal income taxes while he was president, and did everything possible to hide his taxes from public view,” Meyers said. “At this point, I wouldn’t be...

"After crunching all of the numbers..." This is super cool! The YouTube creators called Corridor Crew (or Corridor Digital) made a video looking at the balloon house from Pixar's Up with the goal of creating a VFX sequence based on actual physics. How many balloons would it really take and what would that actually look like? Watch this to find out. The video also plays like a short doc, examining the origins of balloons and then taking us through the actual real-life examples of people trying solo flight with actual balloons and they reference other cinema videos from The Film Theorists (also on YouTube). So even if we already know the answer to "what would it take?", this is still an entertaining watch as they try to work through the solutions and visualize it. Check out the Up video below. Thanks to GeekTyrant for the tip on this fun video.

From Harry Houdini to David Blaine, magicians have never ceased to hold audiences enraptured, turn the impossible into possible and spark the pervading question: “How did they do that?” The latter—however—is not solely a part of spectator speculation after a performance. A magician like the late James Randi utilized his craft to demonstrate how charlatans such as Uri Geller, Peter Popoff, and James Hydrick successfully duped individuals into believing they possessed psychic powers.

Blaine lifted off shortly before 8 Am Pt and within 40 minutes had risen to a height of over 19,000 feet.

David Blaine has landed safely and soundly from his latest live-tv stunt, “Ascension.”
The magician flew 24,900 feet above the Page, Arizona desert on a batch of 52 balloons, including one tech-heavy payload “balloon.” That special yellow sphere, complete with its own Hvac setup, made Blaine’s 50-foot-tall cluster of orbs an experimental aircraft — a legal designation he needed to do this thing.
To get the go-ahead, Blaine had to become a licensed hot-air balloon pilot. He had no basket for the actual stunt, just a harness.
When Blaine reached his insanely high cruising altitude, he strapped on a parachute and fell/floated back down to earth.
The stunt, which was recently moved from New York City to Arizona and delayed by a few days, was very reminiscent of 2009 Disney-Pixar animated movie “Up.” This morning’s launch was delayed a bit due to inclement weather. Blaine took off at 10:56 a.m.

[Update: David Blaine landed safely! For a full recap of the stunt, click here.]
David Blaine is about to take off high above the Arizona desert, armed with (what appears to be) just 52 colorful balloons stacked 50 feet high. There’s also one special very mechanical payload “balloon” that is technically an experimental aircraft.
When Blaine climbs to about three miles above sea level, he plans to release the balloons, free fall a bit, and parachute back down to earth.
Preferably safely, of course.
Yes, the illusionist’s latest death-defying stunt, titled “Ascension,” is all very “Up”-like — just without the house, the old man and the young scout.
Watch the livestream via the video above.
Launch was planned for 9 a.m. Et/6 a.m. Pt, but weather delayed that a bit. Now we can expect Blaine to take off by 10:45 a.m. Et/7:45 a.m. Pt, wind and weather-permitting.

Due to a weather delay, David Blaine has decided to move locations and wait a few more days before he attempts to float into the sky strapped to a bunch of helium balloons.
Called “Ascension,” the famous illusionist’s research and discovery flight will now take place in Arizona rather than New York City on Sept. 2 at 6 a.m. Pt, weather permitting, when the whole thing will be captured as a YouTube Original live event.
“As some of you already know, I’m working on the most exciting project of my life, which is called Ascension. The idea is, I want to grab a bunch of balloons and go floating all the way up into the sky until I almost disappear. I’ve been working diligently on this with the best team in the world, but because of the complexity of this project, I’m not going forward with my...
