The Writers Lab UK and Ireland, the international offshoot of the script development program for woman and non-binary writers over 40, has unveiled its first cohort of screenwriters and projects.
The non-profit organization, that counts Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman among its supporters, has selected 12 participants that will take part in the lab, set to take place online from June 10-13, with additional sessions spread over the following five months.

What better way to charm a lady than to display your dance moves?
Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) leads the cast in British dance-comedy Cuban Fury as Bruce, a middle-management type in a mechanical design office. His boss Drew, played quite creepily by Chris O'Dowd (The It Crowd, Bridesmaids), constantly picks on him and won't stop with the fat jokes (seriously, enough with the fat jokes). Both men are excited by the entrance to the company of American executive Julia (Rashida Jones, Parks and Recreation, Celeste and Jesse Forever).
Bruce has a secret: He and his sister were once young Latin-dance superstars in their region, until an attack by bullies led him to put up his dancing shoes. Vertigo Films to release musical, including the feature debut of singer Leona Lewis, in 2014.
Principal photography has begun on Holiday! and will shoot for five weeks on location in Italy and the UK, according to Vertigo Films.

The musical comedy centres on Maddie (Hannah Arterton) who is set to marry Raf (Giulio Berruti) after a whirlwind romance in Italy. Maddie invites her sister Taylor (Annabel Scholey) to the wedding without realising Raf is her sister’s ex-holiday fling.
The film will include 1980s songs such as the Human League’s Don’t You Want Me Baby, Madonna’s Holiday, Cyndi Lauper’s Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, and Wham’s Wake Me Up Before You Go Go.
Other cast members include Greg Wise (Sense & Sensibility), UK comedian Katy Brand and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter Leona Lewis in her first film role.
