24 star Carlos Bernard is one of the show's few fixtures. With all the double-crossings, cliff-hangers and back-stabbings, it's a wonder anyone has survived from the first season, but his character Tony Almeida was an integral part of the season just aired, the seventh in the show's run. All indications suggest that he'll be back in a big way for Day 8, set to kick off in January. The actor came to London this week to promote the DVD release of the show's seventh season - available on Blu-ray for the first time, and Rt sat down with him to... »

24 star Carlos Bernard was shocked when he met George W. Bush - because the former U.S. President is obsessed with the hit show.
Bernard's character Tony Almeida was apparently killed off during the drama's fifth season in 2006, but stunned fans when he returned two series later.
And the cliffhanger kept even the most powerful on tenterhooks - the then-President Bush was desperate to discover Almeida's fate when he bumped into Bernard.
The actor says, "He grabbed me at a baseball game in the U.S. A big guy came up to me and said, 'Excuse me, the President would like to speak with you.' I went over, and it was George W. Bush, and he said 'Hey Carlos, when are you coming out of that coma? All I can do is watch that show of yours. Are you coming back?' I was like, you don't have anything better to do?" »

Now that I’ve got your attention, yes, Carlos Bernard, who played Tony Almeida on 24, will be appearing in the upcoming back half of season 3 of Burn Notice.
Details on whether he’ll be a client or a nemesis of Michael Westen, played by Jeffrey Donovan, has yet to be disclosed.
Carlos already filmed his role and now, all we have to do is wait until Burn Notice returns from its midseason break. Grr.
I know you can’t cross franchises, but wouldn’t that be sweet?
Michael’s voice: “When dealing with an ex-ctu agent, one has to have every tool he’s ever developed at his disposal. Patience and a keen eye on the many probabilities are essential in… (phone ring)… Not now, mom!”

Is it going to be Tony Almeida versus Michael Westen later on in the third season of Burn Notice? Oh, we can't wait to find out. Actor Carlos Bernard recently reported, via his website, that he has filmed a guest starring role for the current season of USA Network's Burn Notice. There are no details on what this role will be, so we can only speculate. Will he be a "client" of Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) or will he be yet another foe the former spy has to outsmart. We certainly hope that it's the latter, as it would be great to see Bernard kicking some butt again after his great turn in 24's seventh season. Season 3 of Burn Notice returns from its mid-season break this winter. »

We've been adding so many names to the good side of the upcoming season of 24--new CTU members, new administration members, new people in distress (I think), you get the drill--but finally they've named a name for the person who'll complicate things for everyone. If last season we had Jon Voight and a returning Carlos Bernard--but he's more of a complicated character--this season we get J??rgen Prochnow. »

Chicago – The standard DVD season sets for “24” have long been setting the bar for what TV on DVD “should be”. Winning awards for their technical transfers and detailed, copious special features, the producers of “24“‘s home releases took it a step further this year by changing the game yet again with the Blu-Ray release of “24: Season Seven”.
Blu-Ray Rating: 5.0/5.0 After a lackluster first season release (which they made up for with a “Special Edition” a few years later), the next five seasons of “24” were essentially perfect TV on DVD releases. They had informative, detailed special features, gorgeous video & audio, and fascinating commentary tracks. And it didn’t hurt that they were for some of the most beloved programming of the ’00s.
Season seven was clearly a chance for “24” to change the game again. The sixth season had been a clear winner for worst of the series to date by »

Normally, I come away from a show with a critical eye towards issues or angles that distract me from the main plot, yet this seventh season of 24 and its finale came at us with a new sense of energy, focus and desperation that I don’t remember feeling before. I also found myself hating not one, but two characters from the show while being shown a side of Jack Bauer that I was not used to seeing. That was unique and somewhat disturbing.
This year we had no CTU and Jack had to work as a cooperative consultant for the FBI (imagine a consultant that’s one of the most dangerous men alive!). We did get to see some of our CTU favorites but in unique scenarios.
You’ll see why after the break, where the Spoilers are hiding. You’ve been warned.

24</i>" style="margin:0 5px 5px" />This Monday from 8 to 10 pm/Et, Fox's 24 wraps up its latest wild day with Jack compelled to set free his fallen friend, Tony, lest daughter Kim get killed. In this TVGuide.com Q&A, Carlos Bernard previews the surprise-filled season-ender, takes some issue with Tony's "bad guy" status, and also shares his take on Kiefer Sutherland's recent scrape with the law, saying the whole situation "smells bad." TVGuide.com: At the start of the season, did they map out for you the whole "Tony's bad/No, he's good/No, really, he's bad" arc? So you could prepare as an actor?
Carlos Bernard: Going into the season, we knew we wanted to make him "the antagonist" — I can't really get on board with the "bad guy" thing — and one of the things explained in the finale tonight is ...

One thing is for sure: No matter what kind of scrape he gets into, 24 star Kiefer Sutherland has plenty of backup. "I've felt a lot of support and I'm grateful for that," he told Entertainment Tonight at an event celebrating Fox show's finale, which airs May 19. Sutherland, 42, was charged with misdemeanor assault in N.Y.C. on May 7 after allegedly getting physical with Proenza Schouler women's wear designer Jack McCollough at a party. Cast and crew from the hit Fox show gathered at L.A's Wadsworth Theatre on Tuesday to celebrate the season seven finale, where they weighed in on co-star Sutherland. »

Kiefer Sutherland's 24 co-star Carlos Bernard has leaped to his pal's defense following allegations he assaulted a fashion designer at a New York party.
Sutherland is charged with third-degree assault after allegedly headbutting Proenza Schouler co-founder Jack McCollough at a Met Costume Institute Gala afterparty earlier this month.
Bernard, who plays government agent Tony Almeida in the hit drama series, has been friends with Sutherland since they began working together in 2001.
And the 36-year-old star can't believe his friend would commit such a violent act - because the behaviour seems so out of character for Sutherland.
He says, "Kiefer is one of my best friends, and he's a great guy. I've been around the world with him in bars and social situations, and I've never seen anything close to this happening, He always bends over backwards to be courteous with people and to be generous with his time."
Sutherland, who is currently under a probation order in Los Angeles relating to a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence, faces a $1,000 (£660) fee and up to a year in jail if convicted of the third-degree assault charge.
His arraignment is scheduled for 22 June at Manhattan Criminal Court. »
