- George Beck was born on March 7, 1907 in New York City, New York, USA. He was a writer and director, known for Behave Yourself! (1951), There Goes My Girl (1937) and Hired Wife (1940). He died on October 6, 1999 in Los Angeles, California, USA.
- Founding member of Writers Guild of America West and he was an active member of the Directors Guild of America.
- In August 1955 filed a $65,000 infringement lawsuit with Samuel Locke against Paramount and Hal B. Wallis, claiming that Wallis had hired them to write a circus story for Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis, entitled Big Top, which Wallis later rejected. A similar story was filmed as 3 Ring Circus (1954). The disposition of the suit is not known.
