Popular strategy board game Terra Mystica is set for a screen adaptation by Cobalt Knight, the production company co-founded by Christopher Kaminski and Christopher Knox.
Cobalt Knight nabbed the screen adaptation rights to the Terra Mystica universe, which includes a sequel, Gaia Project. Both board game titles were designed by Jens Drögemüller and Helge Ostertag and published by Capstone Games.
Cobalt Knight has signed with Rain Management Group for representation as it looks to adapt the empire-building board games. “When we were introduced to Cobalt Knight, I was in awe of their innovative approach of taking board games and other traditional titles into the film and television space,” Rain founding partner Jonathan Baruch said in a statement.

As more filmmakers have entered the TV space, the rise of the non-writing producer has become a crucial function on TV series according to the Intv panel today The Film Factor: How Filmmakers are Changing the Landscape of Television.
For years the non-writing producer was irrelevant; a position that was largely relegate to sit at the table and keep quiet. But times have changed.
“We’re producing episodic TV as we produced movies. It’s far more intense and rigorous and the budgets have become inflated,” said Liza Chasin founder of 3dot Productions and Ep of Mary Queen of Scots on translating pic producerial experience to TV, ” We’re producing hours and hours of television with the head space of producing film.”
“You have these amazing filmmakers who are coming into TV with serious POVs, and they have something substantial to contribute. They’re coming from movies with these enormous budgets.

Many shows live and die by their main character’s ability to make you stop caring about anything else that might be sub-par. You may need a semblance of general story, depending on how hard you push the episodic nature of the show, but if you have the right lead, you only need above-average plot lines to keep people in their seats.
Stitchers has a lot in common with House M.D. in this regard. The cases were often intriguing, and though the perpetual doubt of House’s abilities grew tiring, the overall arc was pretty good. Still, Hugh Laurie made the show.
The plot of Stitchers is a “sci-fi fun” one, which for ABC Family means it balances the “need to know” with the “just play along,” and it doesn’t overwork the complexities of things, nor does it talk down to the audience… much. It’s solid, though perhaps...

Donnie Wahlberg and Jon Avnet have teamed with TNT to develop a crime drama about a young war hero-turned-Drug Enforcement Administration officer working in his hometown of Boston.
Wahlberg, a Boston native, is expected to star in the tentatively titled "Morse Code", from Warner Horizon TV. It's being written by former "Law & Order" writer-producer Walon Green, with Avnet anticipated to direct. All three will produce.
Michael Wright, TNT's top programmer, described the project -- one of several expected to be announced Wednesday at Turner's upfront presentation -- as in the vein of "The Departed", with the commingling of law enforcement and organized crime. He said "Code" would be a good fit with the network's schedule.
"Our original shows are character-based dramas that speak directly to the audience," Wright said. "The guy at the center of this is a relatable everyman kind of cop -- an honest, authentic character that our audience can connect with on a personal level."
Wahlberg and Avnet worked together on "Boomtown" and the upcoming film "Righteous Kill".
Wahlberg, repped by IFA and Jonathan Baruch at Rain Management Group, also has reunited with his New Kids on the Block bandmates for a tour kicking off Friday.
