Singers Gord Bamford and Johnny Reid dominated the Canadian Country Music Association awards on Sunday, September 12, taking home a string of top trophies each. At the annual ceremony in Edmonton, Bamford's record "Day Job" was named Album of the Year, while the title song's promo won Video of the Year.
He also took home the Male Artist of the Year prize, declaring: "This is one of the best nights of my life!" Reid walked away with the Fans' Choice Award, Single of the Year, bestselling Canadian album for "Dance With Me", and the Songwriter of the Year trophy.
He told the crowd at the city's Rexall Place, "I wrote 'Dance With Me' for my wife. This is a song to remind myself to take a moment out of this madness and hold onto the people you love."
