Following the news that ABC will not be ordering additional episode of freshman drama Eastwick, costar Lindsay Price (pictured) has been named a suspected show killer. Though undeniably adorable, the actress has a long rap sheet of failed TV shows that also includes NBC's Lipstick Jungle, Pepper Dennis, and Coupling. Which other actors are on TV's Most Wanted (and Least Lucky) List? Our top offenders: • Jason Gedrick: Truly impressive versatility in terms of the number of networks he's failed on. Victims include: Fox's Class of '96; CBS' Sweet Justice, Ez Streets, and Falcone; ABC's Murder One and The Beast; and NBC's Boomtown and Windfall. »

Roger Corman (a recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at our recent Trinity of Terrors) is a mainstay of the American Film Market and always has been, and that’s where we caught up again with the veteran producer, who’s doing a couple of new killer-fish movies for the Syfy channel. “Dinocroc was a big hit for us,” he tells Fango, “and Syfy wanted another one, so now we have Dinoshark, which we shot in Mexico, and that has turned out so well, the next one we’ll do for them is…
“Octoshark!” No doubt this flick is about a crossbreed between the two sea species, though we’d like to think it concerns a great white trying to raise too many offspring and becoming a media sensation. In any case, Dinoshark was directed by Kevin O’Neill (who also helmed Dinocroc) from a script by Frances Doel and »

I’ve said previously that films with Dennis Quaid are not usually on my top list of favourites – I don’t really know why that is because I can’t really pin-point a movie that I hated him in. I think he can act, I think a lot of his films have been very successful but there’s just something about his movies which don’t completely pull me in. With that said, I’m very pleased to tell you that Horsemen (of the Apocalypse) is actually a really great movie.
While I was watching it I kept thinking that it was a cross between Saw and an episode of The X-Files. The storyline is a bit of an odd one so bear with me. Dennis Quaid is a father of two boys, one who is growing up fast and is fighting with the problems of losing his mother. He »

This is what awaits you if you visit the companion website for the upcoming MTV Networks’ web series, Valemont, which will premieres tomorrow for a 12-episode run on MTV before heading to an online-only release of the remaining 23 episodes. I had a chance to speak with co-creator Brent Friedman of Electric Farm about this unique transmedia experience that blends product placement, Arg elements, and web content into an exciting murder mystery plotline that may or may not have a supernatural twist. The multiplatform series stars a number of notable young actors like Nikki Blonsky, Kristen Hager, Georgina Reilly and Six Feet Under's Eric Balfour. For the specifics of how this project came together, we asked Friedman to fill us in. "Valemont originated about a year ago when Electric Farm Entertainment began discussions with MTV about producing a branded entertainment series," said Friedman. "I created the show with Christian Taylor, »

Continuing with out DVD-themed day here at FilmShaft, it’s my pleasure to present to you….Hell Ride, a feature length, rough, tough (and not at all sexist) adventure that packs one hell of a punch and makes no apologies!
From Executive Producer Quentin Tarantino (Grindhouse Presents: Death Proof) and Writer, Director, Producer and star Larry Bishop (Mad Dog Time) comes this lean, mean mayhem machine, fully loaded with the three B’s: bikers, beer and booty! Action packed and fueled by pure testosterone, Hell Ride revs it up to DVD and Blu-ray on 12th October 2009 from Warner Home Video.
Larry Bishop takes up the role of Pistolero, head honcho of the Victors, a badass biker gang who are out to avenge the murder of one of their members at the hands of the 666ers, a rival gang who relish living up to their hellish moniker. Alongside his cohorts, the »

When a TV series whose broadcast run got nipped in the bud re-emerges on DVD in its entirety, the hope is always that it will allow for the discovery of buried treasures. This is particularly so in the case of Fear Itself, since each of its 13 episodes was helmed by a different director, and only eight got aired before NBC quietly dropped it from the schedule in summer 2008.
Lionsgate’s new four-disc set, however, reveals that Fear Itself’s best stuff actually did make it to the tube the first time around, most notably the contributions by genre faves Stuart Gordon and Larry Fessenden. You can check out our previous reviews of the original eight via these links:

Fans of The Oc hoping for an Adam Brody and Rachel Bilson reunion will need to keep waiting.
But this might satisfy their craving for a reminder of the formerly great Fox series: Eric Balfour, who played Theresa's boyfriend on The Oc, has landed a recurring role in The Beautiful Life, The CW series that debuts tomorrow night and co-stars Mischa Barton.
Balfour will portray Eric, a charming rival to Elle Macpherson's Claudia. He works for a competing modeling agency.
Aside from The Oc, Balfour has appeared on 24 and The West Wing. »

In a move that will no doubt trigger an avalanche of show killer jokes, Eric Balfour is joining the cast of The CW's The Beautiful Life for a multi-episode arc. The star of Hawaii, Conviction, Sex Love & Secrets, and a slew of other short-lived series will play Eric, a charming rival to Claudia (Elle Macpherson) at a competing modeling agency. To be fair, Balfour has also appeared on a bunch of shows that weren't euthanized after nine episodes. In addition to The O.C., he had arcs on 24, The West Wing, and Six Feet Under. He was also really charming on The Ex List, so lighten up on the dude. Fun fact free of charge: The gig reunites Balfour with his former O.C. co-star Mischa Barton. Creepshow (Bd) - Warner Bros.
Amazon.com says: Inspired by the controversial E.C. Comics of the 1950s--which also provided the title and inspiration for the popular Tales from the Crypt TV series--director George Romero and screenwriter Stephen King serve up five delightfully frightful stories. Utilizing comic-book panels, animated segues, and exaggerated lighting and camera angles, Romero and cinematographer Michael Gornick come very close to replicating a horror comic in film format. Chicago – For seven years, USA Network’s “Monk” has consistently delivered quality entertainment. It’s never been a show that set out to break the rules or even do anything too interesting within them, but it has rarely faltered at all in its ability to entertain, something that can be said about very few series that have been on this long. Like a great old band going for one final tour, the final season of “Monk” promises to play all the greatest hits and go out on a high note.
TV Rating: 3.5/5.0 You’d have to have lived under a rock for the ’00s or just bought your first TV to be saying “what is this show called ‘Monk’”? The award-winning mystery series has been a beloved part of the basic cable landscape for the better part of the decade and the season premiere of the final arc of the »

"Fear Itself" should be pretty fresh in your minds considering it's hitting DVD soon with some very bitchin' artwork. The short-lived show was like the unofficial third season of "Masters of Horror". For various reasons it was pulled before it could run its final five episodes. FEARnet is out to fix all that.
Starting on September 2nd the final five will begin being aired. Below you'll find a synopsis of each episode and when you can tune in to see them.
"Something With Bite," directed by Ernest Dickerson (NBC’s "Heroes"), is a reinvention of the classic werewolf story from writer Max Landis ("Masters of Horror"), the son of John Landis ("An American Werewolf in London"). When a veterinarian (Wendell Pierce, “The Wire”) is bitten by a large, strange animal brought into his clinic, he begins to see the world and his stale life differently. With shades of Se7en, a great cast and a truly inventive apocalyptic mystery at its heart, Horsemen comes oh-so close to being a film that's up there with the best of cinema's dark murder mysteries. But alas, between a rash of forgotten characters, a tepid plot twist and a rushed ending, the film ultimately ends up falling just shy of its potential and leaves you feeling like you weren't told the whole story.
Produced by Michael Bay's horror hub, Platinum Dunes (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Friday the 13th), Horsemen comes with a definite pedigree of talent behind it. Dennis Quaid and Ziyi Zhang do the majority of the heavy lifting here, but look carefully and you'll find a ton of decent cameos by the likes of Peter Stormare, Eric Balfour, »

Rise of the Gargoyles pits Eric Balfour ("24", "Six Feet Under"), veteran character actor Nick Mancuso, and soap opera actress Tanya Clarke against evil gargoyles that have grown tired of just sitting atop Parisian cathedrals and have come to life to terrify the "city of lights".
You're probably thinking this sounds like the plot of a Sci-Fi Channel original movie. You would be right.
Rise of the Gargoyles premieres on the Sci-Fi Channel this Sunday night, June 21st, at 9/8 Central. That's Sunday night, not Saturday.
For those that would prefer to watch the film without all those annoying commercial interruptions, Genius Products has already announced a DVD release, but you'll have to wait until September 8th.
Here's a look at the trailer. It looks... It looks like a Sci-Fi Channel gargoyle movie.

Somewhere along the way Eric Balfour's career turned him from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake and into the brick wall that is comprised of "Sci-Fi Original" movies. That makes us sad. The Hell Ride actor recently starred in Rise of the Gargoyles , a creature feature directed by Bill Corcoran that was geared for the Sci-Fi Channel and is now making its way to DVD on September 8th. Genius Products forwarded us a series of hi-res production photos as well as DVD cover art which you can find by clicking on the image below . In the film, Balfour plays Jack Richmond, a struggling author whose outlandish theories on pagan architecture, make him the laughing stock of the academic world. But when Jack finds himself face to face in a demolished church with a live version... »

• Fango got the scoop on the DVD dates for several horror films coming from IFC Films in the next several months. All of these titles either have played or can be seen now via video-on-demand, and they’ll be Blockbuster exclusives before being made available for general retail sales.
The animation omnibus Fear(S) Of The Dark and Christopher Denham’s disturbing family study Home Movie are already in Blockbuster stores, and will hit retail in October. A bunch more have Blockbuster berths only, with no retail slots determined yet: Bruce McDonald’s Pontypool, which just joined the on-demand lineup and opened theatrically in New York today (see review here), hits October 13; Antti-Jussi Annila’s Sauna is coming June 23; Daniel Myrick’s The Objective has been moved from its previous Blockbuster date of July 28 to July 14; Duane Graves and Justin Meeks’ The Wild Man Of The Navidad attacks in August »

Every year there's at least one day on which a bunch of horror classics all come out of the woodwork. For Blu-ray owners that day is September 8th, 2009, as Warner Bros unleashes Snakes on a Plane, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (remake), Freddy Vs. Jason and even the classic King/Romero collaboration Creepshow into the high definition arena!
Below you'll find the specs and artwork for each release with the exception of Creepshow because nothing has been confirmed except the date. We did, however, hear from Michael Felsher of Red Shirt Pictures via his Facebook page that unfortunately none of the stellar features from the UK import will make it. Talk about a travesty! In any event, read on!
