Canadian film-maker Roberto Ariganello drowned while swimming with friends in Nova Scotia on Sunday. He was 45. Ariganello worked as executive director of the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto and had just transported donated edited equipment to Halifax, Canada, before his tragic death. Deirdre Logue, a friend and colleague, says, "It's really, really tragic. It's terrible. He was an accomplished and dedicated film-maker. It was his life, it was his passion." Ariganello's body was recovered by divers late on Sunday and his funeral is scheduled to take place in Ontario on Friday.
