Even Mary Jane wonders if we really need to revisit Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man universe. Kirsten Dunst is worried about messing with a good thing.
During an interview with IndieWire, the Civil War actress was questioned about returning to the world where Tobey Maguire was Peter Parker. The former Mary Jane Watson wasn’t too hot on the idea, asking, “Honestly, do we need it?”
She’s right. Considering the cinema is choked with remakes, reboots, and readapting adaptations of other people’s adaptations, do we need to revisit Raimi’s films after nearly two decades?
However, superfans of the 2000s Spider-Man trilogy could find a glimmer of hope in Dunst’s comments. She may be back if everything falls into place:
“I don’t think we need that. I don’t know. It was so long ago. I just don’t know how they would, what the story would be.

While anime fans still look forward to the third season of One Punch Man, the beloved manga series may now have a future in theaters. Sony’s Columbia Pictures announced a live-action film way back in 2020 and the progress has been really slow on the project. Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner were initially signed on as writers, but the latest reports suggest that Rick and Morty writers Dan Harmon and Heather Anne Campbell are rewriting the script.

Fast & Furious director Justin Lee will be the one helming the film. He is expected to bring the high-octane action package to Saitama’s story on the big screen. One-Punch Man became one of the best-selling manga series of all time just before the announcement of the film in April 2020.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series and Batman: The Animated Series were probably the best animated shows of the ’90s. While the former is a Marvel show, the latter is a part of the Dcau. Although it has been years since the last seasons of these shows aired, fans still go back to them from time to time.
Besides being one of the best animated shows out there, Spider-Man: The Animated Series was the first project to introduce the Spider-Man Multiverse which inspired numerous comics and other projects in the 21st century. On the other hand, Batman: The Animated Series was so good that it won several Daytime Emmy Awards and even a Primetime Emmy Award.
While there is no competition between the two because both have excelled in their own way, here are 3 reasons why each of the two shows is great.

The animated series based on Marvel Comics superhero Spider-Man, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, produced and written by John Semper, aired on the Fox Kids Network from 1994 to 1998. The five-season animated series concluded with the introduction of the Spider-Verse storyline, which went on to inspire similar narratives in various Spider-Man comic books, cartoons, and movies.
Christopher Daniel Barnes voiced the character of Peter Parker, a.k.a., Spider-Man, in the series. The animated series is regarded as one of the greatest animated series made for Spider-Man. John Semper served as the head writer of the series, and in his interview, he explained the arc of Mary Jane Watson falling off the bridge and coming back later as a clone.

Fill the cannons with stuffed animals and watch the fluff fly as Eli Roth’s Borderlands takes the Lionsgate stage at CinemaCon! The annual entertainment event is in full swing after yesterday’s Warner Bros. panel and reveal of Todd Phillips’s Joker: Folie à Deux trailer. With film and television fans fired up about upcoming releases, Lionsgate is ready to take them to a wasteland where kooky characters try to kill each other, and a fabled vault of riches awaits.
The Last of Us showrunner Craig Mazin wrote the initial screenplay for Borderlands but removed his name from the project after the script was rewritten by Roth, Juel Taylor, Tony Rettenmaier, Joe Crombie, Chris Bremner, and Sam Levinson. The tales and myths of blood-sucking vampires have existed since time immemorial. They have made their way into pop culture, including comics that have their own versions of these legendary monsters. Marvel’s Morbius, the Living Vampire, was its own iteration that combined science and mythic arts, and debuted in The Amazing Spider-Man #101 in October 1971. Since then, the character has made regular appearances in comics, shows, and even a standalone film.

Spider-Man: The Animated Series was one of the best animated shows around in the 1990s. In a sea of animated series such as Batman: The Animated Series, and X-Men, the John Semper Jr. show stood out.
Since Spider-Man was such an iconic comic character, the show became an instant classic. Semper himself tried to stay as true to the source material as much as possible. Unfortunately, the show was abruptly canceled, and the head writer finally revealed the reason behind it.

Superhero fans are thoroughly enjoying the new X-Men ’97 animated series. The show is a continuation of the original X-Men: The Animated Series that launched in 1992. However, this recent release from Marvel Studios Animation has also got comic-book buffs wondering if they could soon get a long-awaited Spider-Man animated show.
Spider-Man’s animated cartoons have been a fan favorite over the past five decades. The first cartoon featuring the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler came out in 1967 and the superhero has been on a roll ever since. However, the character’s complicated TV rights have made it rather difficult to adapt the long-awaited Spider-Man ’98 show on TV.

When it comes to creators of animated superhero shows, few names resonate as strongly as John Semper. The realm of superheroes is ever-evolving. It is spread across multiple forms of media and holds a special place in the hearts of millions. The animated shows and movies tend to hold a special place within the fandom.
Renowned for creating the infamous Spider-Man: The Animated Series back in the 90s, Semper is held in great regard. After the success of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, the filmmaker wanted to make a Ghost Rider show.

Being an established showrunner, one would expect Semper to get things his way with the higher-ups. But this wasn’t always the case. An interruption from former Marvel chairman Avi Arad, completely shut down the Ghost Rider show.

Spider-Man is hands down one of the most iconic Marvel characters out there. Who doesn’t love our friendly neighborhood Spider-Man? But the character wouldn’t have been the fan favorite he was if it had not been for the magic weaved by Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Spider-Man: The Animated Series was a cartoon staple back in the days. Running from 1994 to 1998, the five-season animated series had a successful run. John Semper was the writer and showrunner, who already had experience running shows before Spider-Man: Tas fell into his lap. Speaking about the standards & practices that had to be followed by the shows back then, Semper revealed some bizarre notes he had gotten while making the show.
Spider-Man (1994) | Marvel Entertainment
S&P notes are nothing new to the industry. Every show has them, every show-runner gets them, and they have to be followed, at least to some extent. John Semper already had experience running shows before he was roped in to work on Spider-Man: Tas, so he already had prior idea on how these shows needed to be, but that didn’t mean he waa exempt from getting handed some really weird and bizzare S&P notes.

Calls are growing for the 1994 film to be freed from YouTube hell – but is it there because evil Hollywood execs tried to kill it, or is it just a really bad film?
Why exactly are we so fascinated with bad movies? Perhaps it is simple schadenfreude, the delicious mental backwards engineering required to work out just exactly how somebody somewhere decided that the John Travolta-led, Scientology-infused Battlefield Earth, or Ed Wood’s frightful Glen or Glenda were anything approaching a good idea. It cannot be that we actually want to watch these things, for where is the thrill in experiencing completely inept film-making unless it really is about taking pleasure in other people’s creative failure?
The situation becomes even more preposterous when we consider those movies that have always been so terrible that nobody should ever be able to witness them on the big or small screen. Jerry Lewis...

Sam Raimi’s recent stint with the MCU, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was a big let-down for the fans. Raimi rose to prominence by directing one of the most popular superhero movies of our time, the original Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. While his first two films are celebrated widely, the third Spider-Man film is often condemned as the worst film among the web-slinger’s films. The film’s failure could be attributed to the rushed inclusion of multiple villains.
Sam Raimi with Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst on the sets of Spider-Man
Among the three villains was Topher Grace’s version of Venom, which was absolutely hated by the audience. Interestingly, Raimi had no interest in including Venom in his trilogy. The fan-favorite villain got his chance at redemption when Sony made the standalone Venom movie, with Tom Hardy portraying the character.

Billie Eilish may have joined the entertainment industry as a singer, but that isn’t the only thing that has made her as famous as she is. Besides her beyond-brilliant vocal skills, the 22-year-old legendary singer cum songwriter’s “unapologetically me” attitude made her an overnight internet sensation, especially among her Gen Z fans.

In fact, to say that Eilish somehow bags the spotlight every now and then for one reason or another wouldn’t be an understatement, considering how she has once again won fans’ hearts. Following the huge success of One Piece‘s live-action adaptation by Netflix, it is understandable that fans have the expectation that the upcoming Naruto live-action would also be treated in the same way. Cate Blanchett’s Lilith travels to a planet she hates to find a massive treasure hidden in a vault in the first trailer for Lionsgate’s Borderlands. Lilith can’t do the treasure hunt alone and is forced to team up with an odd assortment of people on a planet that has an actual gully made of piss.

Clark Backo, best known for “The Changeling” and “Letterkenny,” has joined the cast of Sony and Marvel’s “Venom 3.”
The Tom Hardy-starring threequel, which is set to hit theaters on Nov. 8, also features Juno Temple and Chiwetel Ejiofor in undisclosed roles. Similarly, character details for Backo are being kept under wraps.
Kelly Marcel helms the antihero movie in her feature directorial debut, and wrote the screenplay from a story she developed with Hardy. The duo, who also developed the first two “Venom” installments, return to produce the film alongside Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal and Hutch Parker.
Reps for Sony and Backo did not immediately respond to request for comment on her casting.
Backo most recently starred opposite Lakeith Stanfield on Apple TV+ limited series “The Changeling,” paying Emma, wife to Stanfield’s Apollo and a new mom who is suffering emotionally and vanishes without a trace.

The stars and artists behind the biggest films of 2023 descended on London this weekend for the BAFTA Film Awards. British film’s biggest night is often seen as the best predictor of Oscar momentum before the Academy Awards and the results often mirror each other.
If that’s the case this year, it will be all “Oppenheimer” all the time. Universal’s Christopher Nolan epic took home many of the night’s biggest categories, winning the top prize of Best Film along with Best Director for Nolan, Leading Actor for Cillian Murphy, and Supporting Actor for Robert Downey Jr. The film also picked up major craft wins for Cinematography, Editing, and Original Score.
While the dominant showing makes an “Oppenheimer” Oscar sweep seem even more likely, Yorgos Lanthimos’ “Poor Things” won for Costume Design, Makeup & Hair, Production Design, and Visual Effects, and star Emma Stone won Leading Actress for her...
