He was the first music director of the Stratford Festival, he composed music for more than sixty of its plays and has been honored for many of his television and film scores for both domestic and foreign productions. His presidency of the Composers, Authors and Publishers Association of Canada paved the way for its status as one of the best performing rights organizations in the world. He is a model of leadership and support for future generations of composers, teachers and arts administrators. This is a promotion within the Order. He was a resident of Don Mills, Ontario, Canada.
