From yellow-eyed bully to blue-clad police officer, Scut Farkus made one miraculous turnaround since we were first introduced to him in 1983’s A Christmas Story. Now, the actor who portrayed him, Zack Ward, is spreading Christmas (Story) cheer by commemorating the film’s 40th anniversary.
Taking to X over the weekend, Zack Ward noted the special anniversary and how wild the size of the legacy the movie developed over the years is. “40 years ago today “A Christmas Story” was released and honestly, nobody cared. Now, it is in the Library Of Congress as one of the top 100 most Important films of American Cinematic History from the 20th Century and in the Smithsonian as a national treasure. Wow.” Don’t forget the annual 24-hour marathons, either, Farkus!

Holiday favorite “A Christmas Story” is the tale of a typical boy Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley) as he deals with the typical struggles kids face during the Christmas season. One of the many thorns in his side during the film is his issues with bullies Scut and Grover Dill, played by Zack Ward and Yano Anaya, who harass him throughout the movie. In order to create real tension between the two and the other child actors, they were kept separate from the rest of the cast, as Ward revealed in a recent interview with Insider.
“Most of the time Yano and I were not hanging out with the other kids. They had different shooting schedules than we did,” Ward said. “[Director Bob Clark] told our parents, ‘I just want Yano and Zack to hang out and be friends, and if possible, without being rude to the other kids, don’t really...

What do you want for Christmas this year? Is it a Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle? Is it a fuzzy pink bunny costume? A very sexy leg lamp for your window? Heck, you may even have The Old Man's leg lamp in your own home already. But maybe you'd like all of that and more inside the actual house from the 1983 film "A Christmas Story." If so, we have good news. The Parker household -- now a museum centered around the classic holiday film -- is up for sale, according to Variety. Don't celebrate just yet, though. There are a lot of conditions, and you'll probably have to sell all your other presents to afford it.
If you don't watch "A Christmas Story" several times each holiday season as I do, the modern classic is set at Christmas in 1940s Indiana. Ralphie Parker (Peter Billingsley) wants nothing...

What holiday gift do you get the man who already owns the most iconic building in Christmas film history? His first tattoo, apparently.
Brian Jones, who owns the beloved Cleveland house that served as rambunctious Ralphie Parker’s residence in the 1983 feature “A Christmas Story,” is taking this interview inside of a tattoo parlor, meeting with the artist that will engrave his first ink: the iconic fishnet-sporting leg lamp that’s one of the seasonal staple’s most enduring images. It’s an appropriate graphic for Jones, as he began his unique but popular business by first selling replicas of “Story’s” leggy light fixture.
“Lamp lights, lamp cups, mugs, shot glasses — anything leg lamp is the most popular item in the gift shop,” Jones tells Variety, referencing the entrepreneurial venture he began nearly two decades ago. “I officially started the business in 2003. I sold 500 in the first year while still in the Navy,...

The owner of the property featured in A Christmas Story has told a former cast member to never return to the house.
Actor Yano Anaya – who played Grover Dill in the 1983 holiday classic – visited the famous home where the film was shot earlier this month.
Anaya was snapping photos with fans on the front steps of the house in Cleveland when its owner, Brian Jones, strongly urged the actor to leave.
In a video obtained by TMZ, Jones can be heard saying: “Get the f*** out! Leave, now.”
He continued: “Get away from my property. Don’t ever come here again. Never, ever again! Leave now!”
The pair got into a heated argument as Jones called Anaya a “piece of s***”.
“You’re trying to get people to donate for stuff? What is wrong with you? You know how much you f***ed me over? You have no f***ing idea!

The house from the 1983 film “A Christmas Story” is up for sale and drawing lots of looky-loos, including an actor from the film, Yano Anaya, who drew some pretty serious ire from the home’s owner when he was caught taking photos with fans on the property.
In a video obtained by TMZ that was shot on Nov. 15, Anaya, who played Grover in the film, can be seen taking photos with what appears to be fans of the film outside on the house’s porch steps. Suddenly, the owner — reportedly named Brian Jones — yells at Anaya, telling him to leave pronto.
“Get the f—k off my house, now! Get the f—k out of here. I’m not kidding,” Jones is heard screaming in the footage. Anaya, seeming confused, begins to step down, but Jones continues to yell. “Beat it! Get the f—k out. Leave now! Get away...

The home featured in 1983’s “A Christmas Story” could wind up as part of a real-time fairy tale.
The iconic Cleveland house was put up for sale this week, according to TMZ, and members of the original cast are interested in purchasing the home. Yano Anaya reportedly told the publication “it only makes sense to have the cast run the show.”

Anaya and other undisclosed co-stars want to keep the home and film’s legacy intact and are concerned with what may happen if another buyer acquires the home.
The home was purchased by its current owner in 2004, according to list agent Chad Whitmer. It was refurbished and turned into a designated landmark in Demark along with adjacent properties that were purchased and turned into a museum, gift shop, parking lots and “The Bumpus House”.

If "8-Bit Christmas" didn't tickle your nostalgic holiday bone last year, HBO Max is going to try again with a more direct approach. In November, the streaming service is bringing a sequel to the beloved 1983 holiday classic "A Christmas Story," complete with a redundant title and the return of the film's original cast members.
"A Christmas Story Christmas" is bringing back Peter Billingsley as the air rifle-loving Ralphie, both eyes and glasses intact, but he's all grown up now with a family of his own. When the holidays roll around this time, Ralphie is taking his family back to the Cleveland Street house in Indiana to "deliver his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had growing up." The first teaser for "A Christmas Story Christmas" has just arrived online, and while it only gives us a sneak peek of what's to come, it's leaning heavily on how beloved...

Zack Ward almost didn’t play Scut Farkus, the bully he made famous in the 1983 holiday classic A Christmas Story.
“I had like eight auditions for it and finally, I got the role as the sidekick,” the actor, 49, tells People. “I wasn’t the bully. I only had like two lines and I showed up on set right beside Yano Anaya and met [director] Bob Clark for the first time. He saw that I was a foot taller than Yano and said, ‘You get his lines, he gets yours.’ So Scut Farkus became the bully and I became the beloved jackass of Christmas.

TBS is in the midst of its annual 24-hour marathon of "A Christmas Story," the 1983 movie about a young boy's (Peter Billingsley) quest for a Bb gun that has become as much a part of the season as "It's a Wonderful Life."
But did you know that Jack Nicholson was considered for the role of Ralphie's father? So says TBS, which says Nicholson was offered the role and he was interested. The movie's producers became concerned about what they might have to pay Nicholson, however, and went with Darren McGavin instead.
Here are some other little- to well-known facts about "A Christmas Story."
- Author Jean Shepherd, who narrates the movie and whose book "In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash" is the basis for the film, also has a cameo. He's the annoyed man in the department store who tells Ralphie and Randy the line to see Santa starts back there.

Honorable Mention: Nick Nack – The Man With The Golden Gun
He may be small, but don’t underestimate Nick Nack in his ability to get his evil duties done. As the quiet and subtle sidekick to Fransisco Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) he serves his boss on many levels. Herve Villechaize portrays this character, who...
