Exclusive: Mvd Entertainment Group has acquired worldwide rights to the autobiographical coming-of-age comedy 5-25-77, from writer-director Patrick Read Johnson (Spaced Invaders), slating it for release in North American theaters this fall, with an unveiling on digital and VOD to follow.

Warcross, which was was published by G.P. Putnam’s Sons Books in September 2017, is about a hacker named Emika Chen, who “accidentally glitches herself” in the fictional game Warcross and “becomes an overnight sensation,” an accident that changes her life forever.
“Altered Carbon” and “Reprisal” alums Adam Lash and Cori Uchida will write the script and executive produce the series. Mark Gordon, Michael Preger and Don Murphy are partnering with Ghost House principals Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert to produce. Ghost House principals Nathan Kahane and Joe Drake will executive produce alongside Susan Montford. J.R. Young and Audrey Chon will oversee the project for Ghost House. Drew Simon will supervise the project for The Mark Gordon Company.
