The parking escalators have been broken for weeks. Those purple and black staff outfits are a bit somber. And $15 dollars seems high for an hour and 35 minutes of Linda Ronstadt: The Sound Of My Voice, as delightful as it is.
But the Landmark, so far, has kept the flag flying for independent movies, and for those who love to watch them on real movie screens.

Both sporting the walk's official t-shirt and red sneakers, the lovely actresses played host at the charity event, which raises money for cancer treatment, research and counseling.

Revlon, Lilly Tartikoff, and the Entertainment Industry Foundation (Eif) has announced that Revlon Brand Ambassadors Halle Berry, Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde will host this year’s Eif Revlon Run/Walk For Women taking place in New York on Saturday, May 5 and in Los Angles on Saturday, May 12.

The family of Brandon Tartikoff -- the youngest programming chief in NBC history -- has donated the late television and film executive's collection of correspondence and effects to the University of Southern California, the school said Monday. Jeff Gaspin, David E. Kelley, Irwin Gotlieb and Judge Judith Sheindlin will be honored with the National Association of Television Program Executives' seventh annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards, to be presented Jan. 25 during the Natpe 2010 Market & Conference in Las Vegas.
The awards announcement was unveiled Sunday by Natpe president-ceo Rick Feldman and Natpe chair Kevin Beggs, who is Lionsgate's president of TV programming and production.

An all-star cast has been assembled for Lifetime's original movie Living Proof.
Angie Harmon, Amanda Bynes, Bernadette Peters, Swoosie Kurtz, Regina King, Jennifer Coolidge, Trudie Styler, Tammy Blanchard, John Benjamin Hickey and Paula Cale have joined Harry Connick Jr. in the movie, from executive producers Renee Zellweger, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
Proof, from Zadan and Meron's Storyline Entertainment and Sony Pictures TV, is based on Robert Bazell's book and centers on Dennis Slamon (Connick), the UCLA Doctor Who developed the breast cancer drug Herceptin. The movie, filming in New Orleans, is set to air in October.
Bynes plays Slamon's student assistant. Harmon portrays Lilly Tartikoff, wife of former NBC entertainment chief Brandon Tartikoff and the person responsible for raising money to continue Slamon's research. Blanchard is the first woman to receive Herceptin, while Kurtz plays her grandmother.
