While watching "Nine 1/2 Weeks" over the weekend, I was suddenly struck by the realization that Jason Statham seems to bear more than a faint resemblance to a young Mickey Rourke. Anyone else noticed this -- the narrow faces with the long chins, the similar shape of the eyes? It's not simply physical appearance, either -- their voices also seem to have a somewhat similar gravelly tone to me (Statham's accent notwithstanding). Even some of the mannerisms strike me as being a bit alike -- the scruffy "bad boy" nonchalance, the small close-lipped smiles, the sexy little lopsided smirks. It almost makes me wonder if Statham might not have noticed this himself and perhaps patterned his own persona slightly after Rourke -- even though I know it's most likely just a coincidence.
