Filmmaker Guy Ritchie has broken his silence over reports his marriage to Madonna is in trouble, insisting everything's fine.
The showbiz couple's union has been under intense media scrutiny in recent weeks, amid rumours they are on the verge of a divorce.
Pop superstar Madonna has also come under fire for her close friendship with baseball star Alex Rodriguez, with the sportsman's estranged wife alleging she had an "affair of the heart" with Rodriguez.
However, appearing at the San Diego International Comic-Con event in California on Thursday, director Ritchie appeared happy and content, reports People.com.
When asked by reporters whether things are going well in his marriage, he replied, "As far as I'm aware of."
Ritchie is currently busy promoting his upcoming action film RocknRolla, which was filmed in his hometown of London.
And he openly chatted about viewing the British capital through the eyes of Madonna, who moved from the U.S. to the U.K. when the pair wed in 2000.
He said, "I was born there and I've seen it change and I know a great deal about it, I'm invested. I live vicariously through my wife, so I was once a spy and now I've become a tourist, and it's much more fun to live in London as a tourist than it is as a spy.
"Someone told me the definition was a spy always looks for the bad stuff, and a tourist always looks for the good stuff. So that makes it easy, being married to an American."

Stars Gerard Butler, Jeremy Piven, Idris Elba and Chris "Ludacris" Bridges joined director Guy Ritchie for yesterday's presentation on "RocknRolla," Ritchie's first film since infamous bomb "Revolver," which took two years to reach U.S. shores. "RocknRolla," which is about the Russian mob in London, is the film that everyone's hoping represents a return to form for the director who first made a splash with snappy urban crime films like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch."
Mostly, though, all eyes were on Butler, who offered chocolates to the crowd of adoring female fans and answered questions on the nature of his role and whether it was as physically challenging as his part in "300." Piven, in turn, offered his own fan service, saying "I'm completely overwhelmed by everyone's focus and their dedication. I'm in honor of all of you and I celebrate each and everyone one of you --

British actor Toby Kebbell was pleasantly surprised by director Guy Ritchie's kindhearted personality when they teamed up to shoot new movie Rocknrolla - because he expected the filmmaker to be egotistical and hot-tempered.
Kebbell, who stars alongside Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton and Jeremy Piven in the upcoming action movie, was terrified about working under Ritchie's guidance because of what he'd heard about the star and his wife Madonna in the tabloids.
But he admits Ritchie was nothing like what he expected.
He says, "I'm not a big one for reading up on the lives of others in magazines, but you sometimes form an idea and I have to say when I turned up in London, I really didn't expect to become friends with Guy Ritchie. But I did; he's a really funny, great personality, but no ego. It was never about, 'Just because I say so.'
"He was incredibly open to other ideas as long as they were right for the film. And very even-tempered, you know - he never spoke a bad or a harsh word to anybody. I really like that."

Christopher Ciccone has blamed Guy Ritchie for the disintegration of his relationship with Madonna. The TV chef admitted to Metro that he became estranged from his sister when she met Snatch filmmaker Ritchie. He said: "Guy Ritchie pushed it over the edge. My relationship with her was threatening to Guy. I suppose he felt insecure and wanted to push me out. It wasn’t necessary. He's also very uncomfortable with gay people." Ciccone added that he (more)

Madonna has fuelled reports she's manipulating the media's attention toward her controversial relationship with Alex Rodriguez only to generate press for her upcoming tour - after reportedly making plans to attend his baseball game on Tuesday.
The singer - who is currently in New York rehearsing for her upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour - has been under intense media scrutiny amid rumours she is courting the media to speculate about her alleged affair with the baseball star.
According to the New York Post, the Sorry hitmaker is "loving" the attention she's received from the scandal, and has been planning to cheer on Rodriguez on Tuesday night's game at Yankee Stadium.
A source tells the newspaper, "She (Madonna), (manager) Guy Oseary and some friends have tickets and are planning on going. She doesn't care about the press it will get - she loves it. It just gets her more publicity for her upcoming Sticky and Sweet tour."
Madonna and Rodriguez were alleged to have had an "affair of the heart," according to his estranged wife, Cynthia, who filed for divorce from the Yankee player earlier this month.
Meanwhile, Madonna has denied having an affair with the baseball star, insisting rumours of a split between her and director husband Guy Ritchie are untrue.
The source adds, "Cynthia's (Rodriguez) claims don't bother Guy (Ritchie). He and Madonna have an unconventional marriage and are fine with it. He is obsessed with his work and so is she. They are not planning on divorcing."

Ciccone told the ABC programme that he does not believe Madonna is secretly planning to divorce Ritchie at the end of this year, despite recent press speculation. Madonna and Guy Ritchie's devotion to the Kabbalah religion has become the only thing the couple have in common, according to the Queen of Pop's brother. In his new book Life With My Sister Madonna, Christopher Ciccone has claimed that the pair only ever talk to each other about their faith. "The press may report that Guy isn't as involved in Kabbalah as Madonna, but that isn't true," Ciccone writes. "Guy's world and his conversations nowadays revolve around Kabbalah. Confirmation came earlier this week that Robert Downey Jr. will play Sherlock Holmes in a long-overdue rebirth of the famous detective. With Guy Ritchie at the helm as director, I can only imagine that it will be quite a bit different from the Sherlock Holmes of Arthur Conan Doyle's novels. We had heard when all this talk started that we'll see a little more physicality out of Holmes in the new version, more a physical hero than an intellectual one.
All of this raises a few questions: Will they keep it in Victorian England at all? After all, Holmes is fictional. Will the cases be new or will it come from some of his many previously published adventures? Will it be more of a Guy Ritchie film than a Sherlock Holmes film? And who will play Dr. Watson?
John Watson was Holmes' biographer, confidante, and roommate. In a certain light,

Robert Downey Jr. is in talks to star in Guy Ritchie’s “Sherlock Holmes,” a new take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s fictional super detective, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Not much is known about the plot at this stage, but the film is expected to portray the titular character as more modern and adventurous. Downey Jr. would star in the lead role.
Apparently, Downey Jr. got involved with the project through his wife Susan, who worked with producer Joel Silver on Ritchie’s upcoming crime drama “RocknRolla.”
Downey Jr. was last seen in Jon Favreau’s success hit “Iron Man.” He has two other projects due in theaters this year: Ben Stiller’s action comedy “Tropic Thunder,” which opens Aug. 15, and Joe Wright’s drama “The Soloist, “ which hits Nov. 21.

Madonna's brother Christopher Ciccone is set to give an insight into the state of the singer's marriage to Guy Ritchie in his forthcoming tell-all book.
According to publishing sources, the pop superstar's estranged brother reveals the pair do love each other - but not as much as the Queen of Pop loves herself and her career.
However, Ciccone insists the couple, who have recently been dogged by split rumours, are "passionately committed" to staying together.
In the expose, Ciccone writes about how he hopes his sister's Kabbalah faith will help her overcome her own ego, adding: "I hope that it is Kabbalah's lesson that she is not the center of the universe."
The book, Life With My Sister Madonna, also allegedly lifts the lid on the Material Girl star's celebrity pals, with excerpts about the lifestyles of Bruce Willis, Demi Moore and Madonna's former lover Warren Beatty, according to online reports.
But some of Ciccone's alleged stories have already been thrown into doubt - his revelations of Madonna enjoying a same-sex smooch with best pal Gwyneth Paltrow at a New Year bash was dismissed by a fellow partygoer on Wednesday.
The book, which is slated for release next week is set to officially cut all ties Ciccone once had to his superstar sister.
Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg says, "I would have to assume she (Madonna) has come to terms with the fact that they do not have a close and loving relationship. And with the book coming out, I assume that will remove the chances of that ever happening."

Now that Robert Downey Jr. is officially "fanboy cool" after starring in Iron Man and introducing them to yet another real actor you can almost hear them rejoicing as Variety breaks the news that Downey will star as Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie's follow-up to RocknRolla opening later this year. Sherlock Holmes will be written and directed by Ritchie and will be Downey's first signing since Iron Man's release and will begin shooting in October. The original draft was penned by Anthony Peckham before Ritchie gave it a polish. The story will surely be adapted from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's original tale, but it is also said that the "Sherlock Holmes" comicbook played a part in the creation of the new story. The best thing about Downey being signed and the production getting an October start is that it is now sure to be completed prior to

Robert Downey Jr. has quickly become one of the most sought after actors in Hollywood hot off the heels of Iron Man (and soon Tropic Thunder). In addition to starring in the upcoming Cowboys & Aliens as Zeke Jackson, Playboy as Hugh Hefner, and Iron Man 2, he is also in final negotiations to play Sherlock Holmes in Guy Ritchie's adaptation. We already announced the project a month back and in between then and now, another Sherlock Holmes film starring Sacha Baron Cohen as Holmes and Will Ferrell as his sidekick Watson was also announced. I don't think the two films are going to battle to completion, as Warner Brothers is hoping to release Ritchie's film by October of 2009, while Ferrell's is probably not due until 2010. I never thought it would come to this: Downey Jr. and Baron Cohen both as Sherlock Holmes. Ritchie's version of the British super ...
