Rapper Kanye West will collaborate with Maroon 5's vocalist Adam Levine in a compilation album to benefit Democratic candidate Barack Obama. Entitled "Yes We Can: Voices of a Grassroots Movement", the soundtrack album will be released in conjunction with Hidden Beach Recordings and sold to raise money for Barack's campaign until November 4.
Joining Kanye and Adam in single "Promised Land" is African-American spoken word poet, Malik Yusef. Meanwhile, other stars who will lend their voices to the theme songs collection include Stevie Wonder, who will sing "Signed Sealed Delivered" and John Legend who will perform "Pride in the Name of Love".
"The whole concept [was] how do we translate that to inspire and invigorate and also give people a keepsake that they can own," a spokesperson from Hidden Beach, Steve McKeever, explains. "While at the same time providing some important capital needed for this campaign."

Maniac On Loose, Entertains Theatre Goers In Huntington
Don't let the name fool you. The Huntington Cinema Arts Centre sounds like a fancy establishment, but it's really a dive just off centre of downtown Huntington, Long Island. The theatre has hosted Summer Camp Cinema for a number of years, a Saturday night double feature collection of horror films. Last night was my first venture to take part in the annual summer festival, a mid-week single feature. I took a seat in a dingy little theatre with poor lighting and warped walls, waiting in anticipation to watch an even more warped movie:
Yes, director Bill Lustig's masterpiece, first screened to the terror of women's groups nationwide in 1980, was in all its glory on the big screen last night, with a 6 year old 35 millimeter print that was scratchy and gritty. I mean that as a compliment, because Maniac is the

'In The city, it is only acceptable for a man to wear flip-flops if he has just come from a pedicure and he's still damp. But seriously, folks, flip-flops are for the beach or maybe for washing the car or spaniel. They are not the next big thing. They are the last sad thing on the road to stylistic surrender," writes GQ's Glenn O'Brien.
Now We don't want to be telling the Victoria's Secret folks how to run their amazing business, but it wouldn't hurt if they took some thin, snazzy, young models and put them into Queen Victoria's bloomers.

Lionel Richie has admitted that he struggled to raise daughter Nicole. At the recent TV Land Awards ceremony, the former Commodores singer revealed that dealing with Nicole's drug addiction, weight problems and brief spell in jail was highly stressful. He is quoted as saying: "Forget about surviving 40 years in the music business, just surviving 27 years of Nicole Richie has been a struggle-and-a-half, I want (more)

Nursery rhymes are fine, but baby Harlow "likes The Cure," proud papa – and weekend Dj – Joel Madden tells People. Madden, whose daughter with Nicole Richie, Harlow Winter Kate Madden, was born in January, jetted to the Hamptons for Memorial Day Weekend to spin records at La Playa in Southampton, but he's not sticking around. "The Hamptons are definitely a good place to hang out for the whole summer," he told People. "But I'm a dad now. I'd be staying if I didn't have the girls at home. That's why I'm going home." The crowd at La Playa "went nuts for Justin Timberlake,

Yes, the nearly $50 million Paul McCartney is paying ex-wife Heather Mills is a lot of money, but it's no record-breaker as far as celebrity divorce settlements are concerned. That crown still gets shared among basketball great Michael Jordan, musician Neil Diamond and box-office champ Steven Spielberg and their exes. After nearly 18 years together, Juanita Jordan walked away from her marriage to the hoop star in 2006 with a $150 million parting gift, just like onetime TV production assistant Marcia Murphey received from Diamond – to whom she was married from 1969 (before he hit it big) to 1996.Spielberg's four-year marriage to actress Amy Irving

Enjoy tonight's results show, American Idol fans. Seriously, in a couple weeks you'll look back on tonight with fond memories. Starting next week, American Idol's Results Shows will go from sending four singers home to only sending one. From the Top 12 on, it's one at a time. One elimination in one hour. That means an incredible amount of filler, lots of guest performers you don't care about, and group songs we can all do without. Comparatively, tonight will be a breeze. I figure that the four eliminated singers will come from this large pool: Chikezie Eze, Luke Menard, David Hernandez, Danny Noriega, Kady Malloy, Asiah Epperson, Kristy Lee Cook and Amanda Overmyer. That's right – half of the top 16 appear to be in danger of elimination. It's wide open. I'll be here throughout the hour, giving live updates as Ryan Seacrest ruthlessly, without mercy, kicks four singers to the curb.

Lionel Richie was so knocked out by pop wannabe David Cook's rock version of Hello on Tuesday night's American Idol, the soul man is planning to release the track as a single.
Richie, who scored a massive hit with the power ballad in 1984, was stunned when he watched Cook performing the cover on U.S. TV - and now he's hoping to have another hit with the song.
And Richie couldn't have agreed more with American Idol judge Simon Cowell, when the Brit told Cook, "I think Lionel Richie will be very happy when he hears that."
Richie says, "I am putting that song out... myself, with David on it... That is a smash record that David did the other night... I couldn't believe it.
"David just played it as if it was his song from the beginning - there was no Lionel Richie involved. He had the arrangement. It was fabulous... he just killed it."
