Ben Affleck's mother has become the latest person to let slip about her daughter-in-law Jennifer Garner's baby news, reportedly confirming Hollywood's worst-kept secret at a family wedding.
When her actor son and his wife failed to make it to the Cape Cod nuptials on 12 July, Chris Affleck told nosy guests that Garner "wasn't up for the trip".
And when guests pressed her for more information, grandma Chris left them with no doubt there is soon to be another family addition.
An eyewitness tells Life + Style magazine, "She put her hands on her tummy, patted it gently and gave a huge smile. Then she leaned in and said 'Baby number two!'"
Days later, the couple's close friend, actor Victor Garber, also let the baby news slip, but he has since insisted his comments were taken out of context and he has no idea if Garner, his former Alias co-star, is pregnant.

With sources confirming Jennifer Garner is four months pregnant with her second child with Ben Affleck, the couple are being praised as loving, attentive parents. Joey Parsi, owner of the indoor L.A. playground Giggles N' Hugs, where the actress recently visited with daughter Violet, 2, says Garner, 36, is "the perfect mom, and, trust me, I've seen hundreds of mothers in here." Affleck, 35, also is "totally insane about Violet," says one of his longtime friends. "I know how much he enjoys being a parent. He gushes over Violet. He says she's really smart, she's really verbal and she's got a funny personality.

Expectant parents Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner are hunting for a new home, in which to raise their expanding family.
Just days after Garner's former Alias co-star Victor Garber reportedly let slip the couple is expecting a second child, the actors have been snapped house hunting in Los Angeles.
Affleck and Garner, who was struggling to hide a distinctive baby bump, spent an hour on Monday at a construction site in Brentwood viewing a luxury house currently under construction.
Although the couple has yet to confirm the pregnancy, Garner is expected to give birth later this year to a little brother or sister for two-year-old daughter Violet.
Garber insists comments he made about the possible pregnancy were taken out of context, and he has no idea if Garner is with child.

Kevin Kline was horrified to hear his death speech in a performance of Cyrano De Bergerac last year was ruined by an audience member on the phone.
The thespian was so into the scene he blocked out the chatter in the third row as one thoughtless theatregoer talked to a pal about dining out after the production.
But, when he came offstage, co-star Jennifer Garner told him what was going on as he was `dying' onstage.
He says, "Apparently this lady's cellphone rang just as I was doing my last speech about my life being meaningful because of panache, and what have you.
"As I'm going on, she hears the phone ring; she picks it up and she says, `Yeah, no, I'm still here... He's lying down. It's going to be over soon. Yeah, it's Jennifer. Yeah, Kevin Kline and Jennifer Garner. Yeah, no, he's dying. I'll be a couple more minutes. I'll be there. I'll be there. Just wait. You can order for me. Yeah. Okay. He's dead. He's dead. Oh, the curtain came down. Okay. I'll be right there.'
"If I had heard that, I would have sped up the whole death thing. It's annoying as all hell."

All the star power in the world couldn't keep the Lakers from blowing a 24-point lead in their devastating loss to the Boston Celtics Thursday night at L.A.'s Staples Center. "Good for Boston," Will Smith graciously conceded to People after the Celtics' 97-91 win. He was followed to the exits by a grim-faced Jack Nicholson, a dejected Penny Marshall and disconsolate Justin Timberlake. Jennifer Garner was almost sent into a panic during a shopping trip on Thursday, when she accidentally locked her two-year-old daughter in the car with her keys.
The Elektra star had just arrived at the Brentwood Country Mart in California when she climbed out of her Lexus without her car keys and closed the door behind her - forgetting the car doors had been set to auto-lock, according to celebrity blogger PerezHilton.com.
But Garner was able to breathe a sigh of relief when she was able to instruct clever Violet - her daughter with husband Ben Affleck - how to open the doors, freeing herself from the vehicle within minutes.
The tot emerged triumphant, clutching the car keys as she smiled at a delighted Garner, before mother and daughter continued with their girls' day out.

Emmy's winners for acting are chosen in a three-tier system by actors who belong to the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. During the first two weeks of June, they participate in a popular vote that determines a Top 10 runoff in each race. Finalists submit a sample episode of their best work to judges, whose scores are combined by accountants in a 50-50 mix with results of the original popular vote. The five nominees in each category are then announced July 17. Winners are decided based on judges' scores of the sample episodes and are revealed at the awards ceremony to

Jennifer Garner appreciates her fans – even when they ask the tough questions. Asked, "When are you going to have another [child]?" during a break in filming This Side of Truth last Friday, the 36-year-old actress laughed off the unexpected query. "Sometime," she replied. "I don't know. I have to think about that one."Garner – who was in Lowell, Mass., shooting the flick (costarring Tina Fey and Ricky Gervais) – made sure to spend quality time with fans of all ages. It was tough to tell who needed more security at Saturday night's annual White House Correspondents' Association Dinner in Washington, D.C. – the President or the Jonas brothers. "It's crazy," Nick Jonas said of the Beatles-like frenzy that erupted when the pop trio – also made up of Jonases Joe and Kevin – arrived. "We never expected this." The evening's emcee, Late, Late Show star (and, as of January, a newly minted American citizen) Craig Ferguson, told People he was "thrilled but shocked" to receive the invitation to host because he "assumed his first invitation as a citizen would be to Jury Duty.

Latest: Actor Gary Busey has gone public with his less than healthy home life as the owners of his Malibu, California pad attempt to evict him for not paying his rent.
The Point Break star allegedly owes $50,000 (GBP25,000) in back rent but he's refusing to pay up because he claims "unclean air conditioning vents" were posing a health risk to him.
And that's not all - in an exclusive interview with U.S. news show Access Hollywood, the actor rages, "I'm living in a house that's had mold in the air and asbestos in the air, and the lights don't work and the fixtures are falling out of the wall.
"The patio wood is crumbling so people could trip and fall."
Busey insists his landlord didn't need to officially evict him - because he had already moved out of the home, accusing the managers of neglecting crucial repairs.
He adds, "They didn't care about that house or the tenant... I said, 'Woah, I'm outta here!"
Busey insists he's in a much better place now and even told the news show he blames his life in former home for his odd behaviour at the Oscars in February - where he terrified Jennifer Garner by pouncing on her and kissing her while she was in the middle of a live TV interview.
The actor has since apologised for his actions.
He says, "That was simply the excitement of being out of the house I was in."

One of 2007's breakout indie hits, "Lars and the Real Girl" was just high-profile enough, profitable enough, acted-by-Ryan-Gosling- within-an-inch-of-its-life enough and conspicuously life-affirming enough to, in the end, warrant a substantial backlash. But a backlash descends every year on overpumped movies as naturally as autumn comes to summer, inevitably, and we need to keep in mind that backlash is as irrelevant to the movie in question as is the hype and popularity that spawned it. In an ideal world, we'd see movies in a vacuum unpoisoned by publicity plague dogs and self-aggrandizing bloggers and clueless critics. Instead, we're inundated with cant that is predominantly interested in itself and its opponents, not in the movie as it would be seen, by itself, a year or ten down the road. We need to remember, for instance, that while "Juno" didn't deserve any sort of Oscar, and was

Matthew McConaughey took to his MySpace Celebrity blog Wednesday to vent about the "ghosts of girlfriends past." But don't worry, Penélope Cruz and Ashley Judd – these exes were all strictly fictional. The 38-year-old actor – who's expecting his first child with girlfriend Camila Alves – said he's also tackling the issues of "love, women and family" for his new role in the adult comedy Ghosts of Girlfriends Past. "It's cool being in a very edgy comedy where the dialogue and situations skirt that R-rated innuendo," he wrote. "My character ... is cynical about the promises of [marriage] ...
