Shady Talez For Eminem

8 November 2009 10:29 PM, PST | EmpireOnline | See recent EmpireOnline news »

He's been known to wield a chainsaw and wear a hockey mask on stage, and Eminem, aka Slim Shady, aka regular-why-all-the-fuss-guy Marshall Mathers is now taking his love of all things horror to the big screen, in the dubiously monikered 3D anthology movie Shady Talez. This looks like several jobs for Shady, as he'll play a different role in each part of the portmanteau, which if it follows the tradition of the genre (Creepshow, The Twilight Zone, the creaky Amicus films like From Beyond the Grave), will contain three stories, one of which is ace, one of which is a  bit meh, and one of which is rubbish.A four-issue Shady-penned comic series for Marvel is also planned to tie-in, and Slim will be co-writing the screenplay along with Underworld writer/star Kevin Grevioux (he's the one with the amazingly deep voice). John Davis (I, Robot) is attached to co-produce. »

Eminem to Star in 3-D Horror 'Shady Talez'

6 November 2009 9:15 PM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

A cameo appearance in 2009's "Funny People" apparently isn't enough for Grammy-winning rapper Eminem. Screen Daily recently broke the news that the Slim Shady is looking forward to make his return to the big screen by starring in a new 3-D anthology horror film entitled "Shady Talez".

The 37-year-old rapper reportedly will take on multiple roles in the movie described by the site as "The Twilight Zone" meets "Creepshow", in addition to producing it. Should the rumors contain any truth, it will be the first time he stars in a movie after he impressed many with his performance as Jimmy "B-Rabbit" Smith, Jr. in 2002's "8 Mile".

"Shady Talez" is being co-written by "The Last Dragon" scribe Dallas Jackson and "Underworld" creator Kevin Grevioux. Jackson will also produce the movie along with Eminem and John Davis. The movie is said to being turned into a four-issue comic book series due out »

Aww shit dawg! Eminem, aka Marshall Mathers, will star in Shady Talez, his first feature film in seven years (though he did appear briefly in Judd Apatow's Funny People earlier this year). Marvel will be publishing a four-issue comic book series based on Shady Talez in 2010 as well. The film is being produced by the newly formed D.J. Classicz/Davis Entertainment. Eminem's Follow-Up To '8 Mile' Is 3-D Horror Anthology 'Shady Talez'

6 November 2009 3:00 PM, PST | MTV Movies Blog | See recent MTV Movies Blog news »

In 2002, hip hop star Eminem impressed a helluva lot of people with his work in the sort-of-biographical drama, "8 Mile." He's been relatively quiet on the Hollywood front since then, other than a few publicity stunts. All that is about to change however, as Eminem is preparing to return to the silver screen.

Next up for Slim Shady is "Shady Talez," a 3-D horror anthology described as "'Twilight Zone' meets 'Creepshow'" by ScreenDaily, which broke the news. The project is a collaboration between "I, Robot" producer John Davis and writer/producer Dallas Jackson, under the D.J. Classicz/Davis Entertainment label. Jackson will co-write the story with "Underworld" creator Kevin Grevioux; the duo will also produce a four-issue comic book miniseries based on the movie under the Marvel Icons label, for a 2010 release.

ScreenDaily doesn't have many more details on "Shady Talez" to share beyond that. D.J. Classicz »

If Relapse marked the return of Slim Shady and his outrageous rhymes, then the sequel is shaping up to be Marshall Mathers' turn back in the spotlight.

In an interview on his Shade 45 satellite-radio station Tuesday night, Eminem explained the concept behind the forthcoming Relapse 2.

"[The album] is gonna be a lot different than people expect," Eminem told DJ Tony Touch. "As far as the contrast from the last album to this one, I got a couple of tracks with [D12's] Mr. Porter, two tracks with him so far. Four, possibly five with Just Blaze. The overall basis of this record, I went back to songs that are more emotionally driven. The last record I made, I think I was concentrating more on spitting. On this album, »

I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell – Interview with Tucker Max

25 September 2009 4:20 AM, PDT | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

When I put my hand into that of frat-boy messiah Tucker Max, he crushed my phalanges with a firm shake that can only performed by legendary mitts. Those hands have handled more alcoholic beverages and women than my mind can even begin to imagine. And while I do hope he washes his hands regularly, at least I can say I’ve grabbed the paws of a man who has f**ked a little person stripper.

That and other stories are shared in Tucker Max’s first co-written movie, I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell, a film adaptation of his New York Times Bestseller with the same title. In the movie, law student/college-party-icon is played by Matt Czuchry (you may recognize him from “Gilmore Girls.”)

But as much as Tucker Max may seem to be invincible to his many vices, he still had a lot of learning to do when it came to cinema. »

Eminem Lets The Characters Play Him: The MTV Quote Of The Day

"Having worked with him so many times, the thing people don't realize is that he's a fantastic actor. He actually stays in character on set. So when he's Tony Romo, he's Tony Romo the whole time. If he's Bret Michaels, he talks like Bret Michaels. He learned it from ['8 Mile' director] Curtis Hanson. He's a method actor, like Daniel Day Lewis."

Hahn, who also directed Eminem's "Without Me" (which won Video of the Year in 2002), said that the rapper wasn't sure he'd be able to pull the concept off simply because he rhymes too fast on the track. Like "Without Me," the video was mostly improvised over two days on the set. "I'm confident in his improvisational ability to come up with a million things on set, which he always does," Kahn told MTV News. Slim Shady is »

Aziz Ansari Helps Jay-z And Kanye West Stick It To Mixtape DJs

You know it's happened to you: You download a new Eminem freestyle or a Lil Wayne remix, but then when you click "Play" all you get is a terrible mixtape DJ shouting over the track about how dope it actually is. Comedian and actor Aziz Ansari (star of "Funny People" and TV's "Parks and Recreation") is fed up with them too, which is why he took the Jay-z and Kanye West track "Hate" and talked all over it as a way to send-up those guys who are always shouting "Exclusive!" West liked it so much that he posted the song to his own blog.

"New Jay-z track, y'all. I'm about to yell all over the s---," Ansari says at the beginning of the song. "Totally ruin it." As the song continues, Jigga and West's verses are kept low in the mix so that Ansari can talk about "Mad Men," how he hates doing laundry, »

When Rick Ross thinks about Eminem making a Mariah Carey dis record instead of responding to his jabs toward Slim Shady, the Miami Bawse just cracks up laughing.

"You know what my thoughts are, man. We just laugh at it," Ross told us recently in New Mexico.

"He's smart," Ross said about Eminem not addressing him and avoiding a rhyme battle. "That's what I'm waiting for. That'll be a gift — a great Christmas present for me. But y'all know what I think. I think everybody knows. It's all 'hood, man. Shout-out to Mariah Carey, she needs to reach out to me. We could eradicate some things."

The vibe is not 100 percent antagonistic, however, when it comes to Ross' thoughts on Marshall Mathers — he actually has some praise for Em's latest verse. »

It all started in New York in 1984. Ronald Reagan was president. Times Square was a neon-shrouded dump. And MTV invaded Radio City Music Hall for the first ever Video Music Awards. Madonna took the stage in a lacy wedding gown to sing about virginity, Michael Jackson nabbed three Moonmen for "Thriller" and, well, pop culture was never the same again.

With the 2009 show returning to Radio City on September 13 at 9 p.m., we had to take a look back at the many, many ways — from Madonna making out with Britney Spears to hundreds of Slim Shady clones helping Eminem out with his live act — that the VMAs have rocked New York. »

Bill O'Reilly is back at it again. The conservative talk-show host criticized Jay-z on Monday, a day after the leak of the rapper's new song, "Off That," which takes aim at "The O'Reilly Factor" host, among others.

"This ain't black versus white, my n---a, we off that/ Please tell Bill O'Reilly to fall back," Jay-z raps over electro synths courtesy of Timbaland. On the track, which also features Drake, the Brooklyn Mc also fires off a salvo at right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh. Jay-z charges both men with stirring up racist sentiments before closing his verse saying, "It's 2010, not 1864."

In a segment on his show titled "Reality Check," O'Reilly played the song, highlighting the lyrics in question, before quickly dismissing the barb and moving on. »
