Chicago – All seven season of the Emmy-winning, groundbreaking “The Shield,” easily one of the best programs of the ’00s, have been collected into one absolutely gorgeous set for “The Shield: The Complete Series Collection”. This time of year usually produces several complete series sets to essentially re-sell already available programs to holiday shoppers. This is one of the best.
DVD Rating: 5.0/5.0
The 88 episodes of “The Shield” have been collection on 28 Dvds, beautifully housed in a 34-page bound anthology book filled with photos, quotes, and a special letter from Shawn Ryan. Purely from a packaging perspective, “The Shield” is one of the most beautiful sets that a TV fan could include on their shelf. Sometimes complete series sets are literally nothing more than the previous releases crammed into one box. That’s not the case here as the entire show has been lovingly bound like a book you want to read again. »

The creator of the landmark cable series talks about the new Complete Series DVD set, Terriers and more.
Back in 2002, a series aired that changed the face of television and became my favorite TV series of all time - Hands Down - The Shield. For seven seasons I was absolutely riveted by the exploits of the Strike Team in the fictional Los Angeles district of Farmington, and that of their leader Vic Mackey, played to utmost perfection by Michael Chiklis. Sadly, the TV series came to an end last fall, with a series finale that is, in my opinion, the single best series finale in TV history ( to read my farewell piece to this amazing series) and now viewers can relive the TV magic with The Shield: The Complete Series, which hits the shelves in a massive 28-disc set on November 3. I was fortunate enough to have an exclusive »

Last night on Survivor: Samoa, 33-year-old Liz Kim, an urban planner for the Bloomberg administration, finally ran out of luck. Foa Foa's wheeling, dealing Michael Chiklis look-alike, Russell Hantz, did not trust her to present a welcoming united front to the other tribe after she grew impatient with Galu's visiting auditor, Laura. The decision made some sense. So far Survivor: Samoa has held seven Tribal Councils. Foa Foa has attended six of them. If Galu is going to survive after next week's merge they are going to need to make fast friends and influence people. »

'The first I heard about it was people were suggesting me on the Internet for the part,' Jackie Earle Haley says.

For decades, Hollywood cast the person they thought would bring in the most money for a movie role, often resulting in some odd choices (Vince Vaughn in "Psycho," Kevin Costner in "Robin Hood," Keanu Reeves in virtually everything) that were largely rejected by audiences. But now, it's the 21st century, and the Internet has made film more of a conversation than a monologue. From Michael Chiklis as The Thing in "Fantastic Four" to Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool in "Wolverine," several high-profile castings of the last few years have begun online — and Jackie Earle Haley couldn't be happier.

The recent announcement regarding a "Fantastic Four" reboot confirmed long-standing rumors that the property was set for an overhaul—and given recent comments from Chris Evans, it's unlikely that the original cast will return for the do-over.
With the likes of Evans, Jessica Alba, Michael Chiklis and Ioan Gruffudd presumably removed from the new "Fantastic Four," what sort of actors will the revamped film need in order to create a viable, sustainable franchise?
I've narrowed down my picks. Read on to see if you agree!
George Clooney as Mr. Fantastic: One of the biggest problems of the first "Fantastic Four" movies was its depiction of a younger Reed Richards. In my mind, Reed works best as an older soul—someone who has seen and done many bizarre things throughout his scientific career, but still has the heart and physique of a hero.
George Clooney might seem too convenient of a »

With lots of new and wacky things going on over at Marvel right now, there was one somewhat bizarre decision that was actually made before Mickey Mouse got his paws in the door. That decision was to reboot Fantastic Four a mere 4 years after the first film hit theaters.
The plan is for Fox to reboot the franchise with all new actors and probably a new origin story for theaters in 2013. What do the first set of actors have to say about their roles being wiped from continuity? Well, Joblo.com recently got a chance to talk to Chris Evans, the first Human Torch, and he didn’t seem very happy about the idea.
“I don’t think I’m going to be involved with it. I’d imagine the reboot, it would be a reboot. I think they’re going to start from scratch. And that’s the way those movies… »

Back in March of this year, we reported on the possible reboot of the Fantastic Four franchise. Then, at the end of last month that rumor became a fact, as 20th Century Fox is, indeed, moving forward with a reboot of Fantastic Four.
As Screen Rant’s Kofi Outlaw predicted back in March, a reboot should and will mean that the four actors who portrayed the titular superheroes in Fantastic Four and its sequel, Rise of the Silver Surfer, will be recast. Although it’s not been talked about/confirmed for Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd or Michael Chiklis, today we get word that Chris Evans won’t be playing The Human Torch again in Fox’s Fantasic Four reboot.
Cinematical got a chance to ask Evans himself about the upcoming FF4 reboot, to which he replied (not in so many words) that we most likely won’t be seeing him »

20th Century Fox are looking to reboot their Marvel movies series Fantastic Four, according to Variety. The studio will reignite the franchise with Akiva Goldsman producing and Michael Green (Heroes) writing the new screenplay.
The first two films starred Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis as the four heroes. No word as yet if any of them will return.
The trade says Fox controls the "Fantastic Four" movie franchise in perpetuity -- as long as it continues making the films. Marvel is a producer and financial participant through a licensing agreement. »

Yesterday's announcement of Disney buying Marvel for $4billion (£2.5million) left superhero fans wondering about two key issues.
Firstly, what would happen to Marvel's existing comic book film slate; secondly, the impact on Marvel characters - such as the Fantastic Four - whose film rights are with other studios.
It 's since been revealed that Paramount will still distribute Marvel's five next superhero movies - Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, The Avengers and Iron Man 3 - although Disney would like to take on this role in future.
It's also confirmed that the deals for characters at other studios will stay in place under the terms set by Marvel and these other studios.
As I explained, 20th Century Fox has movie rights to X-Men, Fantastic Four and Daredevil; Universal has Namor the Sub-Mariner; and Sony has Spider-Man and Ghost Rider.
And hot on the heels of all this, and as if »

20th Century Fox has confirmed that it will reboot its Fantastic Four franchise. Rumors of a potential reboot first hit back in March.
Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend, Hancock, Jonah Hex) has been hired to produce and Michael Green, the executive producer of TV’s “Heroes” and writer of “Green Lantern,” will pen the script for the new “Fantastic Four.”
The 2005 “Fantastic Four” and 2007 sequel “Rise of the Silver Surfer” were directed by Tim Story and starred Jessica Alba, Chris Evans, Michael Chiklis and Ioan Gruffudd. Since the deals for the reboot are just getting made, it is unclear if any of them will return and Fox was unwilling to comment on the development.
Though Marvel Entertainment owns and finances properties like Iron Man and Thor, Fox controls Fantastic Four in perpetuity — as long as it continues making the films. Fox has the same arrangement on Marvel Comics properties X-Men, »

Monday's news regarding the Walt Disney Company's plans to acquire Marvel Entertainment had comic book movie fans buzzing about what would happen to Iron Man and Captain America. But now it looks like the publisher's first family of superheroes will receive a fresh coat of paint too.
According to Variety, 20th Century Fox has announced plans to overhaul the "Fantastic Four" film franchise with a new movie produced by Akiva Goldsman and scripted by Michael Green.
No strangers to comics-to-film adaptations, Goldsman is currently producing movies based on DC properties "Jonah Hex" and "The Losers," while Green is both the co-writer of the upcoming "Green Lantern" movie (starring Ryan Reynolds) and co-executive producer of NBC's "Heroes."
At this point, there's no word on whether "Fantastic Four" stars Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, »

Let's face it, Disney buying Marvel for $4 Billion is the biggest news the house of Spidey is going to see until Iron Man 2 comes out next year. But also surfacing, according to Variety, is the news that Fox plans to re-boot its Fantastic Four franchise. Producing the new flick is Akiva Goldsman, who recently served as producer on movies like Hancock, I Am Legend and Poseidon. Fox has also hired Michael Green to write the script. Green recently executive-produced NBC's Kings and also co-produced Heroes. So, will you get to see Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis as Mr. Fantastic, The Invisible Woman, The Human Torch and Thing? The previous Fantastic Four films may have performed well in terms of box office sales, but they are considered highly forgettable. The re-boot will most likely call for a new cast and direction. Talk of a "Fantastic Four" reboot is no longer just talk—Marvel's First Family is officially getting a makeover, and no, it's not courtesy of the Walt Disney Company.
Variety reports that 20th Century Fox will overhaul the "Fantastic Four" property alongside producer Akiva Goldsman. The screenplay will be written by scribe Michael Green, a co-executive producer on "Heroes" and the co-writer of the Ryan Reynolds-starring "Green Lantern."
Presently, it's unknown if the film's original cast—Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis—will reprise their roles for the third outing, but the earlier rumors of a "Fantastic Four" do-over indicated that new actors would take the reins of the series.
Plot details are also being kept under wraps, though the likelihood of the Silver Surfer emerging in a third "Fantastic Four" are unlikely given Fox's desire to build a solo feature around the character.

It should come as no surprise that in addition to the big announcements yesterday, especially the Disney Marvel deal, there was other news. One such piece that may please many Marvel fans out there who were less than thrilled with the way the first two movies turned out is the late breaking revelation that Fox is rebooting The Fantastic Four franchise. But wait, don’t get too excited because Akiva Goldsman, the man who wrote the two worst Batman films in history (Batman and Robin and Batman Forever) and the feature film version of Lost In Space featuring Matt Leblanc is in charge of the reboot for the studio.
Fortunately, he’s not actually writing the script and is just a producer. Michael Green, co-executive producer of Heroes, co-writer of the new Green Lantern and creator of the short-lived series Kings is the one tapped to write the new script. »

In case you suffer from short-term memory loss, let me remind you the last time we had a film based on Marvel's Fantastic Four was in 2007. Prior to that you have to go all the way back to 2005! Yeah, intense eh? So considering we have been without the plastic man, invisible woman, fire man and rock guy for upwards of two years now Fox has decided it's time to light the fires under that franchise once again with a reboot. On the heels of the announcement Disney has purchased Marvel, Variety reports 20th Century Fox has already begun overhauling one of its big Marvel franchises, Fantastic Four, to take the property beyond the two films already made. Michael Green, the co-exec producer of TV's "Heroes" who co-wrote "Green Lantern," will write the script for the new Fantastic Four. Akiva Goldsman is on board to produce and oversee the feature. The news of Disney's $4bn acquisition of Marvel is still ringing in our ears, but Variety has a reminder that it will be some time indeed before Marvel's entire canon resides permanently at the House of Mouse. Fox control the rights to the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Daredevil and Silver Surfer for as long as they continue to knock out films (so does that mean they're in danger of losing Daredevil?). And they've just announced a reboot for the Ff.The primary-coloured, kid-friendly Ff films are easily the series that, more than any other of the current slew of comicbook properties, most faithfully reflects its 60s origins. The 2005 original garnered shaky reviews but mega box-office. 2007's follow-up, Rise of the Silver Surfer, did similar business, and gained the consensus that it was one of those sequels that's actually better than the original. So the series would seem to have been moving in the right direction, »

Rumor that "Fantastic Four" franchise is getting a reboot treatment has contained some truth after all. 20th Century Fox has finally announced that this untitled new Fantastic Four project has indeed been planned, and has hired the Academy Award-winning screenwriter and "Jonah Hex" producer, Akiva Goldsman, to oversee the reboot as producer, according to Variety.
Michael Green, the co-executive producer of "Heroes" and the co-writer of "Green Lantern", has been brought on board to pen the script. As details on the restart are being kept under tight wraps, it is too early to tell whether or not Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis will reprise their roles as the members of the popular superhero team.
News of the reboot came hot on the heels of report that Walt Disney Company has made a deal to acquire Marvel Entertainment for approximately $4 billion in cash and stock. This will »
