They're working from a script penned by Lindy S. Hudis, Stephen R. Hudis, and Stephen J. Downing. Keep your fingers crossed that the spooky legend will get the treatment it deserves when shooting commences in Louisiana in the spring of 2010.

As the deaths pile up, and the causes become even stranger, they become aware that some far more scary is amongst them. Hudis has spent a good portion of his career in stunts (he was a tanker truck driver in Shocker ), however, that changed when he directed The Lesson in 2000. The Thai newspaper The Nation reports that David Carradine was found dead in his hotel room in Bangkok by a maid. While initial reports indicated an apparent suicide, friends and family members stepped forward to say they doubted that was the case. A U.S. Embassy spokesman said he died either this morning or yesterday evening but would not comment further.

The 72-year-old actor starred in a wide range of movie and TV roles over a nearly 50-year career. Arguably his two most famous were as Shaolin priest Kwai Chang Caine on the hit 1970s TV show Kung Fu and as folk singer Woody Guthrie in the 1976 biopic Bound for Glory. He also starred in the 1972 Martin Scorsese movie Boxcar Bertha and the 1977 Ingmar Bergman movie The Serpent's Egg.

Top 7 Drinking (Beer/Wine/Alcohol) Movies

2 June 2009 12:30 AM, PDT | The Scorecard Review | See recent Scorecard Review news »

We start the Top 7. You finish the Top 10.

In honor of The Hangover (Due out June 6) many of you will get this weekend, The Scorecard Review presents the Top 7 Drinking (Beer/Wine/Alcohol) Movies.

As always, there is certain criteria to get on this list:

1. Alcohol must play a prominent role.

2. The movie makes you want to reach for a drink.

Based on this, we’ve got some cuts to make before we start. Leaving Las Vegas you’re out. The destructive, slow death of alcoholic Ben (Nic Cage) is a sad, well-done film. Plus, adding Elisabeth Shue as hooker is brilliant casting. But this movie is about pain, and while everyone should realize drinking has a dark side, let’s not talk about that here, Ok?

Also, Cocktail we’re leaving you off as well. This Tom Cruise movie is supposed to be a drama. But after my 15th viewing, »

Duckie Turns 44: Happy Birthday, Jon Cryer

16 April 2009 4:15 PM, PDT | Cinematical | See recent Cinematical news »

It pains me to realize that Jon Cryer is 44 years old today. I had a similar reaction a few years ago, when I discovered that Robert Carradine was playing the father on Lizzie McGuire -- there's just no way I could wrap my brain around the idea of Revenge of the Nerds' Lewis Skolnick as a suburban dad. Also, this meant that I, myself, was therefore old enough to be the parent of a teenager, and that's wrong in oh, so many ways.

So it's with mixed emotions that I wish a happy birthday to Jon Cryer. Once I get past my own not-inconsiderable baggage, I'm able to to say without a shred of irony that I adore him. Unsurprisingly, I first fell in love with Cryer in Pretty in Pink, and his lip-sync to Otis Redding's "Try a Little Tenderness" remains one of my favorite set-pieces from the 80's. »
