We have a brand new exclusive special feature clip from Forrest Gump, which comes to Blu-ray in a new Sapphire Series on November 3. Click below for our exclusive special feature clip, which shows Tom Hanks talking about the actor who plays the young Forrest and his unique voice.
Stupid is as stupid does," says Forrest Gump (played by Tom Hanks in an Oscar-winning performance) as he discusses his relative level of intelligence with a stranger while waiting for a bus. Despite his sub-normal Iq, Gump leads a truly charmed life, with a ringside seat for many of the most memorable events of the second half of the 20th century. Entirely without trying, Forrest teaches Elvis Presley to dance, becomes a football star, meets John F. Kennedy, serves with honor in Vietnam, meets Lyndon Johnson, speaks at an anti-war rally at the Washington Monument, hangs out with the Yippies, defeats the »

In anticipation of the week-long CSI crossover episodes next week--they call it "CSI Trilogy" and I call it "Langston week"--here's a behind-the-scenes video on how the whole thing panned out. Apart from the usual details on what we should expect next week, all those bits about human trafficking and severed legs, here's a chance to see why Raymond Fishburne looks forward to working with David Caruso and Gary Sinise, why it took a long time for a three-show crossover like this to happen, and how Langston does a Horatio impression. »

He'll always be best known for representing a Mac in Apple commercials, but Justin Long continues to branch out with his acting career. After a decade of playing fairly light roles in comedies and horror films, not to mention a prominent breakout part in "Live Free or Die Hard," he will be getting his first serious, dramatic supporting role in Robert Redford's Lincoln assassination movie, "The Conspirator," according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Long joins James McAvoy and Robin Wright Penn for the historical drama about Mary Surratt (Wright Penn), the sole woman allegedly involved in the plot to kill the president. McAvoy plays a disfigured Civil War hero who comes to her defense, while Long will play his best friend and fellow soldier who also assists as McAvoy's conscience.
The biggest challenge will be that Long's character has lost a limb in the war (it's not revealed if it's »

Crank: High Voltage (Two-Disc Special Edition)
With Gamer out in theaters, the mini-debate about Neveldine and Taylor -- mad geniuses of action cinema or destroyers of all that is visually coherent? -- can continue. Never-say-die Chev Chelios (Jason Statham) comes roaring back to life for another adrenaline-fueled adventure, accompanied once again by the very game Amy Smart. It's the only new mainstream film out on DVD today, so be prepared to fight like a dead man if you want to rent a copy at your local shop. Also on Blu-ray. Rent it.

Anthony Zuiker created CSI, generating more than $6 billion. But with his new cross-platform experiment, his killer instinct is really kicking in.
A Man crouches on a 3-foot-by-3-foot glass-top table in a dank basement near the Los Angeles River, just outside of downtown L.A. The man is a contortionist. He's wearing a skintight, hooded latex body condom, bone white, zipped up the back to the top of his head, with holes for his eyes and a zipper over his mouth.
He nonchalantly folds a leg behind his neck and scratches his head with his toes. Next to him is a gallon jar of snails, and on a table, a pile of salt has been cut into lines in the shape of a maze. With a razor blade, the contortionist scrapes the glass clean between the lines, then deposits a snail in the center.
Snails disintegrate in salt, of course, »

Actor Jerry O'Connell became an object of fun for a group of drunk baseball fans after he asked them to stop ruining his pal Gary Sinise's day at the ballpark.
The two stars were watching a game at the Dodgers stadium in Los Angeles when the fans recognised Sinise from Forrest Gump and started referring to him by his amputee character, Lieutenant Dan.
At first it was fun, but when the fans didn't stop, O'Connell decided to do something about their behaviour - only to receive a backlash about his own 1986 movie.
He says, "I had to go up to the cheap seats and tell these guys to stop yelling 'Lieutenant Dan!' They sort of obliged a little bit... I get back to my seat and all they kept yelling was 'Hey, it's the fat kid from Stand By Me.'" »

Yesterday I revealed the first details on Forrest Gump's Sapphire Series Blu-ray Disc edition due in stores on November 3. Part of that reveal hinted at a possible "Box of Chocolates" gift set edition which I can now confirm is indeed on the way. The Forrest Gump: Sapphire Series Box of Chocolates gift will be available for either DVD or Blu-ray and include the appropriate two-disc package, a "chocolate box" with chocolate scent, a commemorative booklet and a replica Forrest Gump feather bookmark. It will not include actual chocolates as the name implies, unfortunately, but will smell good enough to eat. Paramount has also shared a robust breakdown of the bonus features highlighting what is new and exclusive to Blu-ray: New: Greenbow Diary . This piece is constructed in the style of a classic verité documentary, allowing the viewer to experience what it was like on the set at the »

Chicago – The Greek actress with the hard-to-pronounce name (kan-uh-kuh-ree-deez), was a presenter in Chicago at the Gabby Awards, honoring Greek Americans, between seasons portraying a forensics expert on her hit TV show, “CSI: NY”.
Melina K. first made a splash as Dr. Sydney Hansen on the TV series, “Providence” and has supplemented her career with stage work, including a turn on Broadway as Sally Bowles in “Cabaret.”

Will Kim Raver return to 24 since ABC didn't pick up her new show? — BrightEyez
Matt: I see where you're going with this. Since Season 8 is set in New York City, you're hoping Jack and Audrey will rendezvous, Sleepless in Seattle-style, atop the Empire State Building. Well, put a pin in that dream for now. For starters, you should be with me in wanting Jack with Renee, not Audrey. Beyond that, ABC's Inside the Box pilot is undergoing retooling/technically still in play, so Raver might not exactly be available. But one Kim you can plan on returning is Jack's daughter — sources tell me Elisha Cuthbert has already filmed scenes for Day 8's first few hours. »

The old-school Sam Raimi fans are having a ball this weekend (I hope) with the director's long-awaited return to horror, the very cool Drag Me to Hell. And of course all of you know Mr. Raimi as the director of the Evil Dead trilogy and / or the Spider-Man trilogy, but it's easy to forget that this filmmaker has one rather impressive batting average. Doubly so if you're into good-time matinee-style genre flicks! So here's a chance to look back over some of the man's other films, mostly ones you've heard of (and probably seen by now), but flicks that are certainly worth a fresh look every now and again. I'll start with one of my true favorites ...
The Quick and the Dead (1995) -- Raimi's ode to the old-school western is an addictively entertaining mixture of A) a great ensemble, B) tons of nifty visuals, and C) tongue-in-cheek affection for the old-fashioned western tales. »
