Just because Madonna isn't dating A-Rod doesn't mean she can't still be a Yankees fan. A source tells me that the Queen of Pop celebrated the Bronx Bombers' World Series win on Saturday (a day after the big NYC parade) with boyfriend Jesus Luz, Jerry Seinfeld and even one of Yankees owner George Steinbrenner's sons. The group did some wining and dining at posh restaurant A Voce overlooking Central Park... "Jerry got there first with his wife, and he wanted a private room," a fellow restaurant-goer says. "They didn't have anything available, so Jerry asked for the most private table in the place." Our eyewitness says a group of fellow diners was asked to move... »

Last night, Marlee Matlin appeared in a Family Guy Presents Seth & Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show sketch (see video after jump) that played her speaking voice for laughs. In an interview conducted via email with EW, the hearing-impaired actress explained why she participated in the skit -- and how it ties in to a new cable series she's developing. Entertainment Weekly: How did you become involved with this special? Marlee Matlin: I had been in touch with Seth MacFarlane's office to ask him to let me use my own voice in the segments where they had a cartoon character based on me. »

Forget the smile, forget the eye color. When it comes to passing traits on to his children, Jerry Seinfeld has given much more than the eye can see: the funnyman’s kids have inherited his sense of humor!
“Watching my kids, especially my daughter [Sascha, 9], it does seem to be in the DNA somewhere,” he tells GQ UK, “because I see her falling asleep with these big joke books.”
While he doesn’t doubt Sascha’s interest in comedy, Jerry admits her dedication still catches him off guard.
“She’s [9]-years-old — she can read anything, why’s she reading jokes? »

Last week, comedy's heavyweights donned their finest embarrassing dad sweaters, broke out the bubbly—and the clip reel—and paid tribute to Bill Cosby, who was on the receiving end of the exceedingly prestigious 12th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor. On hand to present the longtime-coming award (the family-friendly Cos had twice turned down the honor in objection to the 1998 profanity-laced inaugural ceremony honoring Richard Pryor) were Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, former Cosby Show costars Phylicia Rashad and Malcolm-Jamal Warner and fellow comedian and longtime pal Dick Gregory. Actor James Franco is headed to "30 Rock." News that the actor will guest-star on the hit show, which brags a very impressive slew of past guest stars, is nowhere near as shocking as that weird stint on "General Hospital" he's insisting on doing. We guess at the end of the day, Franco realized that he'd had it with hanging at a fake hospital and was ready to hang on a real television show about a fake television show.Former "30 Rock" guest stars have included Jennifer Aniston, Oprah Winfrey, Steve Martin, Jon Hamm and Jerry Seinfeld, as well as a recurring role by Salma Hayek. We're not sure "General Hospital" has quite as impressive a gues ... »

James Franco will follow up his stint on soap opera General Hospital with another small-screen venture - he's the latest star to take on a role in 30 Rock.
The 31-year-old actor is currently busy shooting episodes of the daytime medical drama in Los Angeles, but he'll fly to New York to tape his cameo in Tina Fey's hit comedy.
Franco will play himself in a storyline that sees him romance Jane Krakowski's character, Jenna.
She tells EW.com, "(Jenna gets) into a high-profile relationship with a movie star that is arranged by their agents."
Franco follows stars like Matthew Broderick, Jerry Seinfeld and Steve Buscemi who have all made guest appearances on the show. »

The New York Yankees and the Philadelphia Phillies aren't exactly the fiercest of rivals, but there is sure to be blood — or maybe just some home runs, botched calls and heated arguments with umpires — when the two baseball teams collide for Game 1 of the World Series this evening (so long as the rain stays away that is!).
As New Yorkers and Philadelphians prepare for battle, we got to wondering about some of the other rivalries already in place between the two cities — in motion picture form, that is. I'm not necessarily talking about fictional competitions between NYC and Philly, so much as stacking movies set in those cities against one another.
Through that framework, you'd be surprised at how many competing movies there are between the Empire and Keystone States — just hit the jump and see the head-to-head match-ups for yourself!

A host of veteran comedians, including Jerry Seinfeld, Chris Rock, Carl Reiner, Sinbad, and Dick Gregory, paid tribute to Bill Cosby as he received the 12th annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC Monday night. And while each of them drew laughter from the audience, they were all upstaged by clips from Cosby's TV appearances over nearly a half-century. Even a routine featuring Seinfeld and Rock together fell flat, with Seinfeld acknowledging the fact by remarking that everyone in the audience was probably thinking, "I thought these two guys would be funny together," and Rock rejoining, "But we're not." All of the comics told how they had listened to Cosby's comedy albums as children and how they were influenced by them. All, that is, except 87-year-old Carl Reiner, himself a former Twain Prize recipient, who »

One of America's greatest TV icons has been officially recognized as one of its greatest humorists. Yes, he's still one of the greatest TV icons, but giving him another honor for his work in TV is like giving Jay Leno a free car.
Bill Cosby received the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Monday at the Kennedy Center.
The event, set for broadcast on PBS on Nov. 4., featured presentations and words from comedy notables such as Chris Rock and Jerry Seinfeld. It also featured a Cosby Show reunion of sorts with Phylicia Rashad and Malcolm-Jamal Warner. It's a good thing Dr. Huxtable didn't take his boy out of the world after all.

Last night's Curb Your Enthusiasm was even more cringe-y than usual, right? Office assistant Maureen's misguided choice in cropped tees was uncomfortable enough (Top o' the muffin To You!"); even I, a longtime fan, was surprised when the only somewhat-accomplished weight-loser ended up saving Larry's life as he clutched her ample love handles from two stories up. Larry's done the "bald people all look the same to you" lament before, but never in the context of a police lineup to prove that black-bald is as indistinguishable from white-bald as Wheelchair Wendy is from Denise Handicapped.
