Kanye West Should Play The Super Bowl, Not The Who

13 November 2009 10:55 AM, PST | MTV Newsroom | See recent MTV Newsroom news »

Though it's still just a rumor, Sports Illustrated is reporting that it's likely that the Who will perform at Super Bowl Xliv, which will be held in Miami on February 7, 2010. The classic British rock band — which consists of guitarist Pete Townshend and singer Roger Daltrey, the only two members who are still alive — would be playing their first show in North America in two years and would continue the recent tradition of featuring older legends during the most-watched television broadcast of the year. The past few years have included Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Prince, the Rolling Stones and Paul McCartney.

Some would say that these acts are a great coup for the NFL and the networks who broadcast the big game (the honor this year goes to CBS), but it seems like they may be in a bit of a rut. Plus, they're going to run out of classic bands »

Jennifer Lopez's Ex Ordered to Shut the Eff Up

11 November 2009 8:01 AM, PST | www.actressarchives.com | See recent Actress Archives news »

Jennifer Lopez has been granted a temporary restraining order, which bars that pesky ex-husband of hers, Ojani Noa, from selling the former couple's racy honeymoon videos. We're glad that a judge took care of this because picturing Marc Anthony attempting to kick some guy's ass was simply too depressing for words. Noa appeared in court without a lawyer (a great sign), and explained that he hadn't intended to sell his sexy tape collection, he was simply trying to make a mockumentary about his life as a Cuban immigrant. Speaking to the NY Daily News outside of the courthouse, Noa ... »

Jennifer Lopez Stops Honeymoon Tape - for Now

Jennifer Lopez has been granted a temporary restraining order preventing her former husband, Ojani Noa, from marketing steamy home videos from their 11-month marriage. Noa, 35, was in California Superior Court without a lawyer on Tuesday and claimed after Judge James C. Chalfant's ruling it was never his intention to sell the private camcorder footage. He said it was his intention to produce a Borat-style mocumentary about himself as a Cuban immigrant. "She is destroying my life," Noa, vowing the videos were non-sexual and not for sale, told New York's Daily News immediately after the hearing. "This is another proof of »

Lopez Wins Restraining Order Against Ex

10 November 2009 5:36 PM, PST | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Jennifer Lopez has been granted a temporary restraining order barring former husband Ojani Noa from releasing home videos of their honeymoon and brief marriage.

Noa, who was in the Los Angeles court for Tuesday's ruling, insisted he had no plans to sell the candid footage, but he had hoped to make a mockumentary about his life as a Cuban immigrant.

And now the latest Lopez injunction has put that project on hold.

Outside court, Noa told the media, "She is destroying my life."

Noa insisted he was only using the home video footage Lopez was concerned about for inspiration as he penned the screenplay for the film.

He tells the Los Angeles Daily News, "We were watching with writers and directors and producers because we were getting the script down. We were writing about the characters... She's trying to step on my shoes and not let me move on with my life, and it's not fair."

The footage reportedly includes images of Lopez "fondling herself".

The judge overseeing the case has ordered Noa and film partner Ed Meyer to turn over all material related to the movie.

Lopez filed a $10 million (£6.25 million) lawsuit on Friday, claiming Noa was violating a confidentiality agreement by moving ahead with his plans for a documentary-style movie called How I Married Jennifer Lopez: the J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story.

Noa will return to court on 1 December to fight the restraining order.

But the judge, James Chalfani, insists Lopez has a "very strong probability of success" in making the temporary order permanent.

It's the latest victory in Lopez's ongoing battle with her first husband, who also managed her Pasadena, California restaurant Madre's - in 2007 the singer/actress was successful in banning Noa from releasing his memoirs. »

Jennifer Lopez has reportedly been granted a temporary restraining order that will bar her ex-husband from distributing personal home video footage of the actress. The Associated Press reports that a Tuesday order from a California judge bars Ojani Noa and his manager Ed Meyer from distributing 11 hours of video, including footage of what Lopez claims to be sexual situations. Noa and Meyer wanted to distribute the proposed film, 'The J.Lo and Ojani Noa Story.' Noa claimed that the footage did not include anything sexual, according to the AP. Lopez and Noa were married in 1997.

Jennifer Lopez's former husband may be barred over use of documentary footage

Ojani Noa, who was married to the singer and actor in the late 1990s hopes to release a 'mockumentary' called How I Married Jennifer Lopez: The J-Lo and Ojani Noa Story

A Los Angeles judge will today decide whether to permanently ban footage of the actor and singer Jennifer Lopez from being used in a forthcoming film. Lopez's ex-husband, Ojani Noa, is currently trying to find a buyer for his movie, which includes intimate video of his then wife during their honeymoon in 1997.

Los Angeles Superior Court judge James Chalfant yesterday issued a temporary order banning distribution of the footage. Lopez is claiming breach of contract and seeking $10m in damages from Noa over his attempts to sell the film. She has also named film-maker Ed Meyer in her suit, according to court records. Jennifer Lopez, Carrie Prejean Latest Sex Tape Queens

10 November 2009 9:29 AM, PST | TheImproper.com | See recent TheImproper.com news »

Who doesn’t have a sex tape? Singer Jennifer Lopez and dethroned Miss California Carrie Prejean have both been embarrassed by sex tapes they made when they were young. Prejean, however, is making a wacky claim that the sex tape is being used to “destroy” her because of her controversial views on gay marriage. What gives? The real question is why did she ever make a sex tape in the first place. The truth is sex tapes have become a ticket to celebrity for a number of well-known, well, celebrities, who don’t have any real talent. Think Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. »

Jennifer Lopez: Self-Appointed Patron Saint of 2000?

Glenn from Stale Popcorn here to throw in two cents worth of discussion about the year 2000 per Nathaniel's request.

It was quite surprising to read the other day that Nathaniel Rogers had not seen Tarsem Singh's The Cell. I know he can be a bit queasy when it comes to horror, but there are quite a few cinephiles who swear by that movie as some sort of masterpiece. From two completely different ends of the spectrum there is Roger Ebert, whose four-star opinion might not hold much (much?) weight these days, but reading his four-star rave (and later top ten placement) of the time in 2000 was influential in my desire to see the film. And then there's Nick Davis' rave, which makes me sit here and scream "Yes! Of course!" a lot. In my own humble opinion I say that The Cell is a stunning very-very almost masterpiece. »

Jennifer Lopez has got an early breeze on her attempt to stop her former husband, Ojani Noa, from making a movie out of their sex life. It is in effect for at least a day as a court hearing is set to resume on Tuesday, November 10 to determine whether to extend it.
