After an exciting presentation in Hall H earlier in the day on Watchmen, Lionsgate is following up this afternoon with an exciting presentation on Frank Miller's adaptation of Will Eisner's The Spirit. In attendance today: Frank Miller himself, producer Deborah Del Prete, and stars Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, and Eva Mendes. I'm excited to follow this panel live because I'm wondering whether it will be any good and hopefully they'll bring some new footage that will change my mind. We've all seen the latest weird trailer and it didn't look bad, but it also didn't really look good. Hopefully Frank Miller will bring us a fantastic adaptation of one of the most beloved comics in history. Its got a strong cast, but is that enough? Follow our live coverage of The Spirit panel below! 2:58Pm - We're waiting for the panel to begin... So far it's 15 minutes

The brand-new trailer for Frank Miller’s “The Spirit” is now online, and while it still doesn’t give us much information about the plot of the film, it looks pretty interesting. Then again, I guess it’s easy to determine the main story line: Gabriel Macht’s titular character tries to hunt down the Octopus (Samuel L. Jackson) while a bunch of hot chicks try to either seduce or kill him.
Eva Mendes, Scarlett Johansson, Jaime King and Sarah Paulson co-star. “The Spirit” opens everywhere Dec.25, 2008 Enjoy the new trailer above.

David Frank knows more than you. Care to disagree? I am a man! A hairy, football loving man. A man who believes Budweiser props up the food pyramid. A man who wears sweat like a fashion statement. I eat raw steak and fart in public. Because I am a man! I rip phone books in half to impress strippers and children (or dwarves, I'm too manly to differentiate). I live in an apartment, yet still own a hatchet. An autographed headshot of Burt Reynolds sits on my nightstand ("Hey kiddo, avoid bran cereal and never perm your chest hair. It's not manly. Burt"). Words like "male" or "guy" are too soft for describing me. Only "man" or "manosaur" will do. And like the text-book definition of a real man, I cry. A lot. I eat buffalo wings and Cheetos smothered in Hell's Blue Flame Lava Sauce. And I do not cry.

Hollywood actor Samuel L. Jackson is set to follow in the footsteps of Salma Hayek and become an executive producer for a U.S. TV network.
Hayek found success behind the scenes by executive producing hit show Ugly Betty and now Jackson has followed suit by signing a deal with CBS Paramount - the studio behind the Csi: Crime Scene Investigation franchise.
The agreement will see the Pulp Fiction star develop and executive produce projects for the studio through his Uppity Films production company - and he is also open to the idea of appearing in any shows he develops, much like Hayek's sporadic guest spots in Ugly Betty.
CBS Paramount president David Stapf is delighted to see Jackson sign the two-year deal.
He says, "Samuel Jackson is not only a fan of television but a really astute historian who knows it well."
The star has previously produced Spike TV's animated series Afro Samurai which returns to U.S. TV screens this autumn.

The last time I saw something this cool was when Samuel Jackson called my phone about those mother f-cking snakes on the mother f-cking plane. Today Warner Independent launched an awesome viral game for their release of Funny Games. Go to the website, answer some questions and you'r friend will receive not only a personalized video but a creepy phone call detailing the games. This is a great way to freak people out. I'll go do it to the employee at Blockbuster who didn't give me my correct change... Funny Games hits theaters March 14.
