Cops Called To Connery's Home In Neighbour Dispute

25 July 2008 12:08 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Sir Sean Connery's long-running feud with his New York neighbour has hit the headlines once more, after police were called to the property on Friday.

The veteran 007 star has been locked in a lengthy legal battle with Dr. Burton Sultan regarding repair work carried out on the upper east side property, which the latter claims was of substandard quality.

The latest argument stems from some pieces of scaffolding which have allegedly been left in Sultan's backyard by builders working on Connery's home, which is spread over the top two floors of the townhouse.

According to website TMZ.com, Sultan called the cops to make a complaint about the mess on Friday - but when officers arrived to answer the call, the neighbour was not at home.

The site claims Sultan intends to dial 911 again in an attempt to get Connery to remove the 20-odd pieces of scaffolding.

Cilento alleged that Connery also told son Jason: "You only got this [acting] job because your name's Connery." Connery Brands Ex-wife's Claims 'Insane'

22 July 2008 5:03 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Latest: Sir Sean Connery has denied leaving his son Jason out of his will - and has branded his ex-wife's claims "insane".

The former Bond star has been accused by Diane Cilento - whom he was married to for 11 years - of refusing to leave his son any inheritance.

But Connery insists she is still bitter about the breakdown of their marriage.

He says, "I haven't seen the woman in 37 years and she knows nothing about me or my life now.

"Diane can't move on from the break up of our marriage and I have already had to contend with her accusations about me being violent towards her. Now the lies seem to be getting even more vicious, and, what is worse, she is dragging our son into it.

"I have just come off the phone to Jason and I know he will be making his own statement but I never told him I wasn't going to leave him a penny in my will or that I said he only had the career he has as an actor and director because of his family name. He happens to have talent of his own."

Connery also reveals he set up a trust fund worth $170,000 (GBP85,000) for Jason, now 43, and Cilento's daughter while they were still a couple.

Connery Leaves Son Out Of Will

Actor Sean Connery is so determined his only child Jason should learn to provide for himself, he refuses to include him in his will, according to the star's ex-wife.

Diane Cilento, who was married to Connery for 11 years before they divorced in 1973, claims the former James Bond star's relationship with his son became troubled after he cut him off financially, declaring Jason wouldn't inherit any of his fortune.

And Cilento alleges Connery, 77, got angry with his son, who now works as an actor and director, when the 45-year-old threatened to disown the family name.

She recalls, "Sean said, 'You only got this job (an acting role) because your name's Connery.

"Jason said, 'Well, I'll change it to something else.' Sean said, 'If you do that I'll f**king kill you.'

"Jason loves him but Sean has a problem about relationships, as everybody round him knows."

More Indy Movies Ahead?

19 May 2008 10:19 AM, PDT | From Studio Briefing | See recent Studio Briefing news

If Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull turns out to be the kind of hit many industry observers expect, it's likely that a fifth Indy film will follow, the filmmakers told a news conference at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday. Asked whether he'd make any more Indy sequels, Spielberg replied, "Only if you want more of them." He added, "That's the reason why we made this Indiana Jones," explaining that no one has ever asked him to make a sequel to 1941 or Ai: Artificial Intelligence. "So certainly we'll have our ear to the ground this summer and that will decide where we go from here." In an interview with FoxNews.com's Roger Friedman, Lucas added, "I haven't even told Steven or Harrison this. But I have an idea to make Shia the lead character next time and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out." That may be the only way Harrison Ford might return. He has previously told interviewers that Crystal Skull will be his last film as Indy.

Celebrity Book Alleges Shocking Star Bedroom Secrets

Candid revelations about the sexual prowess of stars like Sir Mick Jagger, Ewan McGregor, John Malkovich and Daniel Radcliffe will feature in new tell-all Hollywood Babylon: It's Back.

The book, which is slated for release next month, reveals who is rumoured to be Hollywood's most well-endowed leading man and exposes a number of alleged scandals involving the world's most legendary stars.

Authors Danforth Prince and Darwin Porter make outrageous claims in the expose, after tracking down those who came into contact with nude stars for their recollections.

One art student who encountered Sir Sean Connery when he posed for a nude portrait before his acting career took off, tells the authors she was stunned by the size of the star's manhood.

She says, "It was the biggest I've ever seen. It made me drop my charcoal pencil."

In another revelation in the book, the authors claim Marilyn Monroe ended a lesbian romance with actress Joan Crawford because "she had bad breath".

Lucas Plans For Fifth Indiana Jones Film?

16 May 2008 10:28 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

George Lucas has hatched plans to revive action hero Indiana Jones for a fifth instalment of the movie series.

Last year, Lucas joined forces with director Steven Spielberg and Harrison Ford on a long-awaited fourth film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and he admits that the filmmakers have left the door open for another sequel.

He says, "I haven't even told Steven or Harrison (Ford) this. But I have an idea to make Shia (LeBeouf) the lead character next time and have Harrison come back like Sean Connery did in the last movie. I can see it working out."

Connery played Ford's father in Indiana Jones + The Last Crusade.

Fans of the franchise will have to wait until the new film premieres at France's Cannes Film Festival on Sunday to learn if LaBeouf's character turns out to be the adventurer's son, as has been rumoured.

Meanwhile, Ford insists the fourth film will be the last.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival, he insists another sequel is not in his plans: "It took 20 years to get this one together. Nobody's really anticipating that sort of thing."

Opening This Week

By Neil Pedley

This week sees the return of the Wachowski brothers, Tarsem Singh ("The Cell") and Henry Bean ("The Believer") to the big screen, not to mention new films from documentarians Nick Broomfield ("Tupac and Biggie") and Doug Pray ("Scratch"). On the other hand, after running around Tribeca, we still need to catch up on last week's releases.

"The Babysitters"

The idea of the spunky teenage boy succumbing to the allure of an experienced older woman is the kind of Hollywood golden goose that launches major careers (think Dustin Hoffman). But when the roles are reversed, the result is the directorial debut of David Ross that sees an entrepreneurial high schooler (Katherine Waterston, daughter of Sam) and her friends turn their babysitting ring into a call girl service, realizing there are alternative ways to pay for college besides waiting tables. It stars when one local dad (John Leguizamo) goes

Following a five-week run at New York City's Film Forum, a 90th-anniversary "tribute" to United Artists will go on the road beginning Friday, when the Brattle Theater in Cambridge, Ma screens 20 restored Ua films that Film Forum described as "some of the most entertaining, adventurous, and Oscar-laden American (and foreign) movies of the last nine decades." They include Dr. No (1962), the first James Bond movie, starring Sean Connery; the original Pink Panther film, starring Peter Sellers; Some Like It Hot (1959), starring Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe; the fight films Raging Bull (1980) and Rocky (1976); and the political dramas The Manchurian Candidate (1962) and Judgment at Nuremberg (1961). The restored prints are scheduled to make a cross-country road-show tour over the next year.

A previously unseen photograph of James Bond star Sean Connery wearing nothing but his underwear has emerged after it was bought from a private collection.

The black and white snap shows the actor on the set of 1963 007 movie From Russia With Love wearing a pair of tight white underpants.

The picture was bought from a collector by Graham Rye, editor of Bond fanzine 007 magazine.

And he is glad to share the image with the public, publishing it for the first time since it was taken.

He says, "It's not the sort of picture you would expect to see of him (Connery), even then, and hopefully he will see this again and have a good laugh."
