Predator (1987) is the definition of an action movie. Arnold totally steals the show here. He has this sense of leadership and charisma that distinguishes him from others. The score is formidable, keeping you engaged! The story is easy to follow. Predator is a movie focused more on the atmosphere and thrill of the hunt! Yes, you can definitely tell that the visual effects are a bit outdated...this movie was made ~35 years ago after all. The director has done a formidable job by hitting the right spot between gore and suspense in a fairly short 1h 46m movie. The constant uncertainty, thrill, and panic that the movie offers are unquestionable. I say that the movie still holds up to today's standards. - DirectorNimród AntalStarsAdrien BrodyLaurence FishburneTopher GraceA group of elite warriors parachute into an unfamiliar jungle and are hunted by members of a merciless alien race.Nr 2:
Predators (2010) uses a similar formula that worked in Predator (1987). Some aspects of it are better than the original movie, others worse. The movie starts strong, possibly one of the best openings! After 40 minutes into the film, I was thrilled and still fully invested! It has good build-up, mystery, suspense. The issue comes when the real action starts. Things get a bit confusing... Sometimes you are left wondering about the thought process behind some questionable decisions characters take.
All in all, I think Predators (2010) is heavily underrated. It was a great movie with a witty story! Predators (2010) is a worthy sequel to Predator (1987)! - DirectorPaul W.S. AndersonStarsSanaa LathanLance HenriksenRaoul BovaDuring an archaeological expedition on Bouvetøya Island in Antarctica, a team of archaeologists and other scientists find themselves caught up in a battle between the two legends. Soon, the team realize that only one species can win.Nr 3:
AVP: Alien vs. Predator (2004) is an ambitious movie. The concept is appealing, but the execution didn't exploit it to the fullest. The place where the action happens fits perfectly! It offers the film the unpredictability, confusion, and panic that it needs! I wish there were more interactions with this "10-minute" mechanic that gets introduced in the movie. One important aspect when it comes to films with monsters is that you need the human side to have a worthy hero to root for. Unfortunately, the movie fails to deliver that! The characters are boring, unappealing, and filled with cheesy lines.
All in all, this movie was entertaining! It is a lower-tier movie but, it has some good aspects - DirectorStephen HopkinsStarsDanny GloverGary BuseyKevin Peter HallThe Predator returns to Earth, this time to stake a claim on the war-torn streets of a dystopian Los Angeles.Nr 4:
Predator 2 (1990) is a peculiar movie. The movie's biggest problem is the LOCATION. I feel like it doesn't suit the Predator franchise at all. The jungle from Predator (1987) makes more sense compared to the city from this movie. Despite Danny Glover's efforts to offer a compelling performance, I was hoping that the story would continue with Arnold Schwarzenegger as the protagonist. The plot is actually decent, maybe with a few adjustments, it could have turned out to be a pretty good movie.
Tossing everything aside I feel like Predator 2 (1990) is a failed sequel. - DirectorShane BlackStarsBoyd HolbrookTrevante RhodesJacob TremblayWhen a young boy accidentally triggers the universe's most lethal hunters' return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled scientist can prevent the end of the human race.Nr 5
- DirectorColin StrauseGreg StrauseStarsReiko AylesworthSteven PasqualeShareeka EppsWarring Alien and Predator races descend on a rural Colorado town, where unsuspecting residents must band together for any chance of survival.Nr 6:
AVPR: Aliens vs Predator - Requiem (2007) can be described in 1 word. HORRIBLE! I have no idea how this movie got released!
First of all, it is so DARK! I was watching it at night with lights off and my screen's brightness turned up to 100%, but it was still so hard to see anything.
Second of all, the story is a JOKE! The writing feels so unprofessional! This movie has all of the clichés elements a story could have. With unnecessary romance subplots, excessively cat and mouse shots, it feels like the direction of the plot is going nowhere.
