The past movies Iron Man 1 & 2, Hulk, Captain America, Thor have built up the hype for this big movie and Marvel definitely DELIVERED!
This movie is AMAZING! The visuals are astonishing, Marvel mastered the art of implementing clever funny high quality jokes in their films and this movie is no exception, also they made good use of the 2h so that even though there are plenty of heroes in this movie they still managed to give them enough screen time so that they all feel relevant to the movie. Every action scene in this movie is important, Marvel makes sure to establish that stakes are high with a beautifully crafted smart and complex plot especially with the scene on the plane. Also the movie is full of suspense to keep you on the edge of your seat!
One thing to note is that I actually enjoyed Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner I feel like he is the right man for the job.
Conclusion : 10/10 ! - DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloAfter the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos' actions and restore balance to the universe.Nr 2:
- DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandMichael KeatonRobert Downey Jr.Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City.Nr 3:
Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017) is a BRILLIANT movie! Incredible acting, Tom Holland as Peter Parker perfection! He literally nailed it! You can clearly see that he has put in a lot of effort into the role. This movie also has an intriguing beautifully portrayed villain, I have to give props to Marvel.. you don't get quality villains like Michael Keaton everyday!
Marvel was not afraid of distinguishing themselves by changing some aspects of the classic Spider-Man story and I respect that. The plot is smart, complex + there is a lot of tension throughout the movie.
At the end of the movie you are left with 2 things : a deep meaningful message and a smile on your face.
Spider-Man: Homecoming(2017) is not perfect by any means there were some minor things that bothered me but the pros heavily outweigh the cons so : Definitely recommend it! 10/10. - DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris HemsworthMark RuffaloThe Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.Nr 4:
Avengers: Infinity War (2018) is one of the most ambitious movies made by Marvel so far. As time passes, the number of movies increases. Likewise, the number of heroes is also increasing, thus it gets significantly more difficult to create a plot involving everyone without it becoming a mess. The Russo brothers surprisingly manage to pull this off with a coherent, well-structured plot. I enjoyed the beginning-ending relation and the fact that everything that's happening on the screen has a meaning that you'll later understand as the story unfolds.
As much as I enjoyed Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the movie isn't perfect. Even though the Russo brothers have done a fantastic job, there'll always be repercussions when it comes to a story involving plenty of characters. The focus gets quite blurry since the movie has to jump back and forth to give everybody a chance to shine.
Nevertheless, this movie was a BLAST! - DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandSamuel L. JacksonJake GyllenhaalFollowing the events of Avengers: Endgame (2019), Spider-Man must step up to take on new threats in a world that has changed forever.Nr 5:
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansSamuel L. JacksonScarlett JohanssonAs Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.Nr 6:
Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) is the definition of a thrilling experience. You are on the edge of your seat for the entire movie. "DON'T TRUST ANYONE". The movie manages to balance things between action and story telling including a more compelling villain, making Captain America: The Winter Soldier(2014) a successful sequel compared to the first movie. - DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattVin DieselBradley CooperA group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe.Nr 7:
Guardians of the Galaxy 2014 is NOT your average movie. I was a bit hesitant to watch this movie at first since I am used to seeing only stuff like Iron Man or Thor but oh boy I was so wrong. This movie is amazing! It's raining jokes across the entire movie while also following an interesting plot + setting the scene for the next movies. The balance between seriousness and jokes is beautifully displayed, the movie is definitely not afraid to go places you might not expect.
Definitely recommend! - DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.Nr 8:
Captain America: Civil War (2016) rocks! It's a movie that manages to combine : a deep meaningful message + cool action scenes and let's not forget about the funny moments. At first you might get the sensation that something is wrong but as the story unfolds you can relate more and more and actually understand each character's motivation.
The things that bothered me : I don't like the way some scenes were managed but since the movie has so many good parts it can be overlooked also I am not sure what was Marvel's vision regarding the villain but I was expecting him to have a bigger presence. It's not that he is a bad villain it's just that there are so many super-heroes in this movie raising the bar thus when the villain shows up he kind of spoils the fun. - DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattZoe SaldanaDave BautistaThe Guardians struggle to keep together as a team while dealing with their personal family issues, notably Star-Lord's encounter with his father, the ambitious celestial being Ego.Nr 9:
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2(2017) uses the same charming formula of the first movie, Fun & Action, and it works! This time around we actually get a deep emotional kick, learning more about the characters we all love while also adding depth to their personalities.
Usually sequels struggle to reach the same level of the original movie since you kind of get used to the characters but I say that this movie is a success. - DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsChris HemsworthAnthony HopkinsNatalie PortmanThe powerful but arrogant god Thor is cast out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.Nr 10:
Chris Hemsworth does a wonderful job as Thor, the movie attempts to follow a multi-layered plot by following 2 realms: the supernatural : Asgard and Earth. This concept seems appealing at first but after a while you can get this feeling of discontinuity where many things happen one after another in these 2 realms to the point where things don't blend in too well. Thor is presented at first as an arrogant unwise man. As the story unfolds you can observe the well integrated character development. Meticulously positioned jokes that may give you a laugh or 2 are also included + you can connect emotionally with the movie.
The thing that bothers me is the fact that the action happening on Earth can seem a bit shacky at times as the relationship between Thor and Jane Foster feels unsurprisingly way too convenient and unrealistic just so the story can continue. - DirectorJon FavreauStarsRobert Downey Jr.Gwyneth PaltrowTerrence HowardAfter being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil.Nr 11:
Robert Downey Jr. Is killing it in this movie! Marvelous acting it feels so natural.. the twist is also built in a good way Obadiah Stane representing the two faced friend in your life that would do anything to raise above others. Also we get to see the character development of Tony Stark.
The only parts of the movie that were not so good are : the final fight with the 2 Iron Man it felt like it falls into an average movie, also another part that bothered me was the way how Tony Stark alongside Yinsen were able to fool Raza and his men regarding the building of the Rocket. It felt like a bit of a stretch but still regardless a solid movie. - DirectorRyan CooglerStarsChadwick BosemanMichael B. JordanLupita Nyong'oT'Challa, heir to the hidden but advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must step forward to lead his people into a new future and must confront a challenger from his country's past.Nr 12:
Black Panther (2018) is a beautiful movie. They got the sound & visuals right, mad respect for that, I enjoy the fact that everything that is happening in the movie has a meaning behind it and everything makes sense. The movie debates important themes and it also has a powerful emotional message alongside a intriguing dilemma.
Now let's get to the parts I did not like : I feel like Black Panther's suit is too strong, making him close to invincible so I just know : if he puts that suit on he is god-like nothing can touch him. Compared to Black Panther, Iron Man is the superior hero movie since every time he puts that suit on there are actually stakes evolved, he is not invincible, usually his suit gets teared apart by the end of the fight.
A quick fix to this problem was to integrate a weapon powerful enough to penetrate Black Panther's suit unfortunately the movie does not include this.
Also I feel like the time could have been managed in a better way : the movie is 2 hours long but at the end of it I felt drained due to the unnecessary repetitive scenes such as the rituals. They should have made the elixir to just temporarily remove the powers. That could have saved a lot of time. With this extra time they could invest it into Zuri's death which felt overly rushed and abrupt or maybe into the only tribe that challenged Black Panther's in the beginning. The movie established that tribe as someone that shouldn't be there but I don't understand why since they spent too less time talking about them thus when you see them after they find Black Panther they look like some normal cool guys so you are just left wondering what's wrong with this particular tribe. - DirectorScott DerricksonStarsBenedict CumberbatchChiwetel EjioforRachel McAdamsWhile on a journey of physical and spiritual healing, a brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into the world of the mystic arts.Nr 13:
Doctor Strange (2016) is a solid movie! As the story unfolds you quickly get captivated by this new magnific universe. Great performance by Benedict Cumberbatch I enjoyed seeing him on screen. Probably the best thing about this movie is the visuals. They are stunning!
A few things bothered me and they go as follows : 1. Pacing problems : There are things happening on the screen but you don't know how much time has passed or any time references . Doctor Strange's journey seems a bit similar to Batman Begins but I feel like they handled the essence of time better in that movie.
2. Underwhelming villain : They should have added more depth to the villain's character. There is no tension built when it comes to the villain and it seems like there are no stakes involved and that he is just a fancy generic bad guy. - DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloWhen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.Nr 14:
Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) is an action packed movie with some minor flaws. The plot feels a bit disconnected and rushed, there are too many things added, thus Ultron never gets the chance to be set up as a real threat. Also another bad thing happened due to the increased number of heroes : nobody got enough screen time.
Nevertheless we still got a solid movie in which we can see the heroes we love in action! - DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddMichael DouglasCorey StollArmed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, pull off a plan that will save the world.Nr 15:
Ant-Man (2015) , surprisingly, is a great movie. Marvel proved once again that they don't need Spider-Man or Iron Man to make a solid movie. The modern unusual action scenes are the highlight of this movie alongside the funny moments and the incredible cast.
Now let's get to the "not so good" parts : I was hoping to see Scott having trouble controlling the suit since he barely got it not so long ago... it seemed that he mastered the way of using the suit too fast and that he had everything under control the entire time. Also Darren puts on the suit Yellowjacket and now he is a master in the art of fighting and in using the suit which seemed a bit absurd to me.
Apart from some pacing problems regarding the plot this movie is a good movie. - DirectorJon FavreauStarsRobert Downey Jr.Mickey RourkeGwyneth PaltrowWith the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father's legacy.Nr 16:
Robert Downey Jr. Delivers another extraordinary performance as Iron Man, also Sam Rockwell as Justin Hammer incredible acting.
The movie is packed with great action scenes alongside clever jokes, the only thing that bothered me was the villain. It felt like the weak link of the movie no depth, just an average forgettable character. - DirectorJoe JohnstonStarsChris EvansHugo WeavingSamuel L. JacksonSteve Rogers, a rejected military soldier, transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price as he attempts to take down a warmonger and a terrorist organization.Nr 17:
The movie starts strong I really enjoyed the Steve Rogers to Captain America journey, Chris Evans brilliant performance he actually made me root for the poor Steve in the beginning, the atmosphere is pleasant, the chemistry between Steve & Peggy is cute BUT the downfall of the movie is the fact that as time goes by it gets worse and worse the direction of the movie gets lost along the way, you're stuck seeing action scenes over and over again to the point where you don't seem to care about Red Skull or his plans anymore, the only thing you care about is for the movie to just end. - DirectorLouis LeterrierStarsEdward NortonLiv TylerTim RothBruce Banner, a scientist on the run from the U.S. Government, must find a cure for the monster he turns into whenever he loses his temper.Nr 18:
This movie is actually a well done movie. It's packed with Action and Adventure, Hulk looks terrific! The capabilities of good CGI amaze me, compared to bad CGI usage such as in The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) + let's be real this movie was made in 2008. The concept of Hulk is portrayed in the right way, I respect the way Hulk was introduced. At first you can't really see him due to the cleverly shot dark scenes so that when you actually get to see him you are like WOW THIS GUY IS HUGE!
The thing that bothered me is the absence of a more developed villain, the complexity of the movie seems too straightforward for me, it lacks deep meaning giving it a cliché vibe making Iron Man the superior movie out of the 2.
By all means this movie is not a bad movie for what it has to offer it just lacks some key elements preventing it from becoming something greater. - DirectorAnna BodenRyan FleckStarsBrie LarsonSamuel L. JacksonBen MendelsohnCarol Danvers becomes one of the universe's most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races.Nr 19:
Captain Marvel (2019) is Marvel's first attempt to create a female hero and to also tie some loose ends from past movies. The main quality this movie has is the story and the plot twist.
Marvel created a handful of amazing movies, unfortunately Captain Marvel (2019) is NOT one of them.
The movie suffers of multiple issues. I don't know if it's the actor or the direction but Brie Larson as Captain Marvel did NOT click with me. I think that she did a fine job but she did NOT leave an impression on me compared to Robert Downey, Jr. Or as Iron Man or Chris Hemsworth as Thor. The moment I saw those guys on screen I just KNEW there is no other human being capable of replacing them.
The fighting scenes are average thus they were a bit of a let down... I was expecting more of Marvel since they raised the bar so high with spectacular movies such as Captain America The Winter Soldier.
Marvel made the same mistake as in Black Panther. The hero is WAY TOO STRONG. The only real satisfying and memorable wins are the ones you have to fight and struggle for!
Conclusion: Captain Marvel (2019) is a decent movie but compared to the rest of the Marvel Movies it lacks the charm, a clear strong message, and also tension making it a lower tier movie. - DirectorAlan TaylorStarsChris HemsworthNatalie PortmanTom HiddlestonWhen the Dark Elves attempt to plunge the universe into darkness, Thor must embark on a perilous and personal journey that will reunite him with doctor Jane Foster.Nr 20:
Thor : The Dark World (2013) has its flaws but despite all that it still manages to keep you entertained. The plot seems scattered and over the top, only a few jokes landed, the Ian Boothby & Darcy Lewis combo was not so enjoyable for me. Also you know that something is wrong with the movie if a random servant of evil is actually more interesting and appealing than the movie's villain... Thor 2 lacks the charm making Thor 1 the superior movie. - DirectorShane BlackStarsRobert Downey Jr.Guy PearceGwyneth PaltrowWhen Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution.Nr 21:
Iron Man 3 starts as a promising movie with the Past -> Present transition, Robert Downey Jr. Formidable acting, as usual, this movie could have been such a good movie too bad things took a wrong turn.
I have to say that this movie is FILLED with PLOT HOLES. There are so many questionable things happening I lost count...where should I start? The worst one would probably be the "Iron-Men army suits" that Tony kept hidden all along. This massive plot hole literally RUINED the whole story. It makes no sense I mean why even bother using only the prototype new suit if you had so many other suits available.. it's just a random thing that was added to create more "action".
Another huge mistake is the way "The Avengers" are portrayed in this movie I mean the point of this movie was to follow the aftermath of "The Avengers 2012" but the only thing that's happening are jokes or random mentions of the avengers. How come S. H. I. E. L. D or police were not involved I mean Tony literally gave his address and declared war on that guy during LIVE TV! It felt like it's Tony against the world haha...also why was Colonel James Rhodes left alive after they got him out of the suit?
I could go on and on but I think you got my point... I don't know what else to say about this movie I mean .. this movie is a mess, sloppy writing, I am not even gonna talk about the underdeveloped cliché forgettable villain. - DirectorTaika WaititiStarsChris HemsworthTom HiddlestonCate BlanchettImprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela.Nr 22:
Thor: Ragnarok (2017) is a silly adaptation of Guardians of the Galaxy. Thor was changed completely from "the mighty Thor" I respect to a "comedian". This change doesn't work. The reason why the movie Guardians of the Galaxy worked is the fact that it was the first time seeing those guys on the screen. I had no clue who they were so Marvel could have portrayed them as anything they'd like...on the other hand Thor was already established in the past 2 movies as this "mighty figure" so this random change to a "comedian" did not suit him.
The villain was okay in the sense that she had a sinister vibe but literally no one takes her side. I mean she is Thor's sister but everybody looks at her like this "evil being" that must be eradicated ... she has only 1 follower and I wouldn't even call him a follower Skurge. The only reason he obeyed her was the fact that he didn't want to die not because he followed or agreed with her beliefs which is sad. To make the plot more interesting they should have made some of the characters surprised and enraged by Odin's secret , since not even Thor or Loki knew about their sister, to the point where those enraged people switched sides and now Thor and his allies have to fight people they don't want to fight adding emotional depth to the fights or to at least convince them to change their mind ..instead the movie's director goes for the lazy way : a random out of nowhere underground army whom no one has ever heard about just some mere punching bags.
The jokes were not the best.. most of them were hit or miss and due to this excessive use of jokes you get this feeling that there are no stakes envolved which is weird I mean a few people die in this movie but you don't really care about them cause Thor will probably say another joke any moment after..
Thor: Ragnarok(2017) is trying hard to be equally serious & funny at the same and it fails miserably, the plot is not too bright, wasted potential when it comes to the villain.
Now don't get me wrong .. I am not saying that this movie is bad but come on guys.. Marvel released so many movies .. I am expecting every movie to be better than the last and this movie was just not it..it was more of a downgrade than an upgrade.. - DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddEvangeline LillyMichael PeñaAs Scott Lang balances being both a superhero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past.Nr 23:
Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018) is a mediocre sequel to Ant-Man (2015). First, I have to point out that I expect every upcoming movie to be better than its predecessor. Unfortunately, this is not the case.
Marvel is a slow learner when it comes to villains. This movie suffers from the same issue as Ant-Man (2015). Its villain is uncompelling and uninteresting. You get the sense that you've watched a filler important to Avengers Endgame rather than an impactful stand-alone movie. - DirectorCate ShortlandStarsScarlett JohanssonFlorence PughDavid HarbourNatasha Romanoff confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises.Nr 24:
Black Widow (2021) is not what I expected. There were many things that bothered me with this movie to the point where I actually checked my watch a few times. I usually praise Marvel for their clever funny jokes but in this movie things are different. The jokes were not funny at all, a more adequate term would be lame. The concept of the story seems appealing but they messed it up big time to the point where I had no interest in the story anymore. There are huge problems with the pacing, the emotional connection and the overall plot is weak. There is a lot of talking and explaining stuff so when you finally get to the action scenes it's just some average random 0 emotional invested fights. The movie never actually takes the time to build a strong emotional side and this mistake backfires hard.
Black Widow (2021) is a wasted opportunity of a great movie. It's a sloppy work. The important good parts are missing or are way too short and rushed while the bad parts are overly drawn out. Any attempt of building emotional connection is cut with a lame joke turning Black Widow (2021) into an empty shell.
