Difficult Actors to Work With11 of 48
Bill Murray
Is known for his furious temper and mood swings, which have earned him the nickname, 'The Murricane'.
Early in his career, Murray once got into a fight with Chevy Chase backstage before an episode of Saturday Night Live (1975). After witnessing Chase's unprofessional behavior backstage, Murray told him that everyone hated him, and the two came to blows.
Another backstage incident at SNL involved Murray grabbing and dangling a nine-year-old Seth Green over a trash can, due to Green sitting in what Murray claimed was his seat in the green room.
Murray has also clashed with numerous directors during his career, such as Richard Donner during the filming of Scrooged (1988), with Donner calling him 'as difficult as any actor'.
Additionally, Murray sexually harassed co-star Geena Davis during the filming of Quick Change (1990), insisting that she let him use a massaging device on her back, despite her protests. He later screamed at her in front of the entire cast and crew during a wardrobe fitting.
He was also highly antagonistic during the filming of What About Bob? (1991). This included yelling at co-star Richard Dreyfuss, saying, "Everyone hates you! You are tolerated!" and throwing an ashtray at his head. Murray also threw producer Laura Ziskin into a lake.
Murray was also highly disruptive and unprofessional during the filming of Groundhog Day (1993). He was constantly late to set and threw tantrums, with director Harold Ramis called him 'irrationally mean and unavailable'. The animosity during the shoot ruined their personal and professional relationships with each other until they reconciled shortly before Ramis' death in 2014.
Additionally, Murray was rude to co-star Lucy Liu during the filming of Charlie's Angels (2000), telling her, "What in the hell are you doing here? You can't act!" This resulted in a physical altercation between the two, which shut down filming for the day. He also headbutted director McG.
He was also rude to co-star Anjelica Huston during the filming of The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), inviting the entire cast to dinner one night except for her.
Most recently, Murray caused production of Being Mortal to shut down after he kissed and straddled an unnamed production assistant.
