- DirectorJohn A. DavisStarsPaul GiamattiNicolas CageJulia RobertsAfter Lucas Nickle floods an ant colony with his water gun, he's magically shrunken down to insect size and sentenced to hard labor in the ruins. When the exterminator shrinks at the end, the body being sucked in creeped me out so much as a kid.
- DirectorSteve BarronStarsMartin LandauJonathan Taylor ThomasGeneviève BujoldOne of puppet-maker Geppetto's creations comes magically to life. This puppet named Pinocchio has one major desire, to become a real boy someday, but he has to learn to act responsibly.Pinocchio's design. I just- This movie was so bizarre in it's visuals, especially the cake scene and Donkey Island.
- DirectorEric DarnellTim JohnsonLawrence GutermanStarsWoody AllenSharon StoneGene HackmanA rather neurotic ant tries to break from his totalitarian society while trying to win the affection of the princess he loves. The designs but mainly the scene with the magnifying glass and an ant gets FUCKING INCINERATED right on screen.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsJim CarreyGary OldmanColin FirthAn animated retelling of Charles Dickens' classic novel about a Victorian-era miser taken on a journey of self-redemption, courtesy of several mysterious Christmas apparitions.Still a favorite but they did not hold back on how traumatizing Scrooge's spirits are, especially when he gets dragged down into hell before waking up.
- CreatorDan SchneiderStarsVictoria JusticeLeon Thomas IIIMatt BennettAspiring singer Tori Vega navigates life while attending a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts. The episode with one sequence that gave me nightmares where Robbie is in a cereal bowl and Rex squirts snot all over him.
Yeah. Thanks Dan Schneider.. - DirectorEric LeightonRalph ZondagStarsD.B. SweeneyJulianna MarguliesSamuel E. WrightAn orphaned dinosaur raised by lemurs joins an arduous trek to a sanctuary after a meteorite shower destroys his family home.I was scared by the beginning scenes of the dinosaurs fighting to the death, but the part when the meteors just started obliterating the jungle and everyone almost died, the moment felt like zero to 100 real quick for me as a child.
- CreatorSatoshi TajiriJun'ichi MasudaKen SugimoriStarsVeronica TaylorRachael LillisEric StuartCovering the continuing adventures of series protagonist Ash Ketchum and Pikachu, and his best friend Brock, the two meet a new coordinator named Dawn, who travels with them through Sinnoh and enters Pokemon Contests. The episode where legit ASH AND PIKACHU DIE from a chandelier accident and have fun with the Ghost Pokémon.
- DirectorDanny DeVitoStarsDanny DeVitoRhea PerlmanMara WilsonA girl gifted with a keen intellect and psychic powers uses both to get even with her callous family and free her kindly schoolteacher from the tyrannical grip of a sadistic headmistress.Miss Trunchbull's torture weapons gave me too many horrible ideas as a kid.
- DirectorGil KenanStarsMitchel MussoSam LernerSpencer LockeThree teens discover that their neighbor's house is really a living, breathing, scary monster.Pretty obvious why.
- CreatorR.L. StineStarsR.L. StineKathryn ShortCody Jones"Goosebumps" was a series of scary anthology stories based on the children's books by R.L. Stine. Series one was hosted by R.L. Stine for twelve episodes.A couple of episodes did terrify me as a child. I think the Cry Of The Cat, with the deformed cat mother mutant (seriously how did they let that slide?!), the cat abomination, and the friend eating a rat on screen.
Another that freaked me out or at least one moment out of the whole episode was Chillogy: Squeal of Fortune where the girl gets turned into a pig hybrid and the town hunts her down to cook her into bacon in revenge.
And as well Bride of The Living Dummy, was not too scary as the others but the Bride Doll was really freaky and the idea of the Slappy wanting to make the little girl his slave. - StarsJeny CassadyDan PayneEmma GrabinskyR.L. Stine leads young viewers on a creepy tour of tales featuring life-sized dolls, werewolves, and carnival clowns that are stalking children.Even more nightmare fuel. I definitely remember finding even more scary episodes that traumatized me.
- The Dreamcatcher: The fucking spider monster. As a kid, it didn't help I had arachnophobia but combined with a fear of the dark, this episode did not help at all. It was like a really bad trip.
- Mascot: Big Yellow's piercing still face staring into you made my skin crawl. I was not prepared for the twist that he ate children and literally going one of the main characters in the stomach of Big Yellow.
- Flight: Gave me a deep existential crisis. Well not really, but the episode talking about death is really unique and dark even for a kids horror show. The man's denial and fear of going to the Afterlife, as well as death looming over the airplane and the ending.
- The Weeping Woman: The idea of seeing a dead ghost woman lure and drown children was terrifying, but when you get the jump scares of La Llorona's face it amplifies the fear.
- Lilly D The Sequel: I watched this episode before the first one, but this was way scarier than the first part. Especially at the end when Lilly threatens Natalie with a knife and she knocks the doll's head off, letting it fall into a pot.
- Red Eye: THE ENDING MESSED ME UP SO MUCH.
- Pumpkin Heads: The body horror and the tooth inside the pumpkin was freaky as fuck.
- Scarecrow: The episode man.. It's is horrifying and so tragic, it's one of my favs to this day. To have a simple scarecrow take away everyone. With how powerful and dark the lines and acting was, it just left me in awe and how horrific it was.
It had just put me in a deep depression thinking over its implication and I couldn't stop thinking about it for years.. The writers did an amazing job at the dystopian horror. - DirectorJules BassArthur Rankin Jr.Takeo NakamuraStarsJosé FerrerPaul FreesJune ForayAn orphan drummer boy who hates humanity finds his life changed forever when he meets three wise men en route to Bethlehem.I remember this being one of the more darker Rankin Bass Christmas movies as a kid. Like seeing Aaron the drummer boy watch his parents get murdered, his house is burned down and all the animals stolen except for Joshua, Baba, and Samson leaving him with a great hatred for humanity. Then having the lamb get run over by a cart.
Merry Christmas to that? - DirectorHenry SelickStarsBrendan FraserBridget FondaJohn TurturroIn a coma, a cartoonist finds himself trapped within his own underground creation and must find a way to get back, while racing against his popular but treacherous character, Monkeybone.I barely remember anything else about the movie but the zany depictions of hell and the monkey was too scary for my kid brain.
- DirectorLawrence GutermanStarsJamie KennedyTraylor HowardAlan CummingTim Avery, an aspiring cartoonist, finds himself in a predicament when his dog stumbles upon the mask of Loki. Then after conceiving an infant son "born of the mask", he discovers just how looney child raising can be.Literally the entire movie.
- DirectorJuraj HerzStarsIris BerbenMichael DegenLinda RybováWhen a moody royal Prince's party of court brats pulls a few pranks too many in the woods, a mean fairy lays a cruel spell. She turns one into a frog, who can only become human again by a loving kiss. This alters several lives through relationships, some of dynastic relevance.I loved fairy tales as a kid and thanks to Princess and The Frog, I was interested in the Frog Prince story and would watch many versions of it.
This was one of the creepiest for me as a child and still as an adult. The frog is gigantic and hideous, speaking like a dying old man.
The kiss scene in particular was terrifying as a kid with how slow it was, the Princess's crying face, and the dramatic music and lightning was too much. - DirectorGary HalvorsonStarsKevin ClashMandy PatinkinVanessa WilliamsA tug-of-war between Elmo and his friend sends his blanket to faraway Grouchland, a place full of grouchy creatures and the villainous Huxley. Elmo embarks on a rescue mission, learning important lessons about sharing and responsibility. The big eyebrow villain, whenever he was onscreen was spooked by his mannerisms and how intimidating he was to me as a kid.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsBob HoskinsChristopher LloydJoanna CassidyWhen a cartoon rabbit is accused of murder, he enlists the help of a burnt out private investigator to prove his innocence. The Dip Scene. Seeing a sentient alive shoe just being burned alive in a barrel of acetone, all bubbling up and melting it alive until all that's left it sludgy red dye. It made me never want to watch the movie again. Don't even get me started with Judge Doom getting run over, either.
- DirectorNorman FergusonT. HeeWilfred JacksonStarsDickie JonesChristian RubMel BlancA living puppet, with the help of a cricket as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become a real boy.The visuals and sounds for when Lampwick was getting turned into a donkey. I was also very sensitive to loud sounds so this was really terrifying.
- StarsLucy ChildsPat MoritaChristie MoreauThis educational cartoon series tells a classic, well known fairy tale and then compares it to two similar lesser known fairy tales from different parts of the world.I completely forgot this show and the animation in most of the episodes freaked me out but the Beauty and The Beast was a WHOLE other level of creepy for me as a child.
