- DirectorByron HowardRich MooreJared BushStarsGinnifer GoodwinJason BatemanIdris ElbaIn a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy. After a 2015 absence, Disney animation (not Pixar) came back to deliver a new movie with animals living together in society. It is very funny, with a deep premise that is believable and like our own world, outstanding animation, and unforgettable characters.
10/10 - DirectorTravis KnightStarsCharlize TheronArt ParkinsonMatthew McConaugheyA young boy named Kubo must locate a magical suit of armour worn by his late father in order to defeat a vengeful spirit from the past.To end a summer movie season, Laika gave us Kubo, which featured a truly gripping plot, charming characters, tremendous animation, great humor, and even some disturbing images, which results me to highly recommend this movie.
9.5/10 - DirectorAndrew StantonAngus MacLaneStarsEllen DeGeneresAlbert BrooksEd O'NeillFriendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.The 2003 Finding Nemo movie was amazing. So 13 years later, they came out with an amazing sequel. It may have had similarities with the original, but the story was exciting and deep. The animation was breath taking, and it brought back old great characters and some great new ones. It is a sequel I highly recommend.
9/10 - DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.Out of all the Marvel movies I've seen, this is by far the greatest. With a highly intriguing story, great special effects, and great humor, it is dynamic, and I recommend it.
9/10 - DirectorAlessandro CarloniJennifer Yuh NelsonStarsJack BlackBryan CranstonDustin HoffmanContinuing his "legendary adventures of awesomeness", Po must face two hugely epic, but different threats: one supernatural and the other a little closer to home.Heavy flaws with the third installment is that the storylines for the franchise are starting to have familiar formula, there's nothing new to learn about a lot of the old characters, and the villain is the weakest of the films. However the story is enjoyable, the humor is really funny, the animation is DreamWorks finest, and the characters are very likeable. It may be flawed, but I recommend checking it out.
8/10 - DirectorJon FavreauStarsNeel SethiBill MurrayBen KingsleyAfter a threat from the tiger Shere Khan forces him to flee the jungle, a man-cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self discovery with the help of panther Bagheera and free-spirited bear Baloo. This live action adaptation of the 1967 cartoon was solid. It had a well crafted and enjoyable story, great visual effects, and memorable characters. However character relationships are not strong, and you can tell that Disney should get original ideas rather than remakes, but I recommend it.
8/10 - DirectorChris RenaudStarsLouis C.K.Eric StonestreetKevin HartThe quiet life of a terrier named Max is upended when his owner takes in Duke, a stray whom Max instantly dislikes. After the very disappointing Minions, Illumination entertainment returned to bring us this pet movie. The story is entertaining and well executed, but it is just like Star Wars the force awakens ripping off A New Hope because this rips off Toy Story, and although the concept they share is good, it is an issue. The animation is brilliant, and it made me feel like I was in the great city of New York. The characters are also vey likeable. I could even make connections because I actually have a dog at home, making it even more engaging. It could've been deeper, but I still recommend it
7.5/10 - DirectorBryan SingerStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1980s the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive through bringing destruction to the world. This film does have a good story, good visual effects, and fantastic humor. But it lacks a cast of memorable characters, and the plot isn't entirely perfect. I do think it's good enough to watch.
7.5/10 - DirectorRoland EmmerichStarsLiam HemsworthJeff GoldblumBill PullmanTwo decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind's new space defenses be enough?I can't believe this abysmal film. First off, you've got a plot and writing that is predictable from beginning to end, and boring. Next, you've got some decent, but generic special effects that are nothing special. Third, the characters are all bland and one dimensional, with the villains having barely any diologe. The humor in here is sub par, though. I absolutely loathe it and will never recommend this forgettable garbage to anyone.
