Too Good For TV
These were all cancelled when they shouldn't have been. Most were under-promoted for various reasons but their primary fault seems to have been that they were just not the sort of thing people with an IQ of 100 would want to watch.

It's a Firefly *class* ship which is rather tangential. Someone obviously agreed since they called the movie Serenity which is both the name of the specific firefly the show is about as well as a reference to an important event in the back-story. I know I managed to miss it in the guide several times. Of course this was before DVRs with seasons passes were common.

Based on the graphic novels by Javier Grillo-Marxuach and Les McClaine. This was on the wrong network -- ABC Family. The kids who watch that are likely too young to catch most of the rapid-fire pop/geek-culture references and the parents are the wrong demographic. You lose all the intelligent humor without that and it ends up just being silly and likely confusing. Not to mention it's a backwater basic cable channel. It might have had a chance on SyFy.

Animal figurines and dolls speak to her and force her to interact with people and try to help them.I can't imagine how you'd go about promoting this properly. Bryan Fuller's work often defies easy categorization -- which is what makes it so great.

But after one blazing row with her parents too many, Jane decides to move to London, where she finds sex, adventure, friendship and fun driving a red London busThe 7 July 2005 London terrorist bombings (one of which was on the same kind of bus that features prominently in this series) really didn't do this one any favours as it was originally supposed to air that month.
- CreatorBryan FullerStarsEllen MuthCallum BlueJasmine GuyAfter being hit on the head by a toilet seat that fell from Mir space station, a young temp clerk becomes a grim reaper in death. This at least got a second season but it deserved more.
Whoever wrote/directed the movie, though, should be shot since it retconned the series mythology badly. What, did the writer just forget that the whole first season was Rube letting George learn the hard way what happens when you don't take souls?
Not getting Mandy Patinkin back for it certainly didn't help but replacing Daisy with another actress (who was totally wrong for the part) was just plain dumb. At least it gave some closure on George's family.
