The Most Over-Rated Films/Shows of Our Era
This is not to say they are bad, just that I feel these films and shows are WAY too over-rated (with people gushing about how awesome they are over and over again, refusing to admit it's flaws).

- DirectorFrank DarabontStarsTim RobbinsMorgan FreemanBob GuntonOver the course of several years, two convicts form a friendship, seeking consolation and, eventually, redemption through basic compassion. To be honest this movie is dull and boring, there is no way this movie should be rated better then other more well-made films out there.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansScarlett JohanssonEarth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity.Let's be honest, to say this is "The Best Superhero Movie Ever" is REALLY pushing it. The script and dialogue is stilted and cliché, with all of the obvious Whedon hallmarks awkwardly shoved into this assemble film.
- DirectorJames CameronStarsLeonardo DiCaprioKate WinsletBilly ZaneA seventeen-year-old aristocrat falls in love with a kind but poor artist aboard the luxurious, ill-fated R.M.S. Titanic.Titanic. Just Titanic............
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJohn TravoltaUma ThurmanSamuel L. JacksonThe lives of two mob hitmen, a boxer, a gangster and his wife, and a pair of diner bandits intertwine in four tales of violence and redemption. An offensive and foul film, why this deprived violence-fest is so highly rated I shall never know. Perhaps some people find violent pop-culture referencing hit-men to be endearing or funny, to me that's just moronic.
- DirectorJames CameronStarsSam WorthingtonZoe SaldanaSigourney WeaverA paraplegic Marine dispatched to the moon Pandora on a unique mission becomes torn between following his orders and protecting the world he feels is his home.Wish people would look beyond the fancy special-effects and see the fact that this film is a cliché-fest of Dances With Wolves meets Ferngully Meets Pocahontas.
- DirectorDavid FincherStarsBrad PittEdward NortonMeat LoafAn insomniac office worker and a devil-may-care soap maker form an underground fight club that evolves into much more.I don't know, perhaps some people find the final twist "shocking", but I've seen tons of other movies handle such a twist better. Mostly this movie is dull and promotes anti-corporate vigilantism to Mountain Dew riddled Generation Y'ers.
- CreatorChuck LorreBill PradyStarsJohnny GaleckiJim ParsonsKaley CuocoA woman who moves into an apartment across the hall from two brilliant but socially awkward physicists shows them how little they know about life outside of the laboratory.I'm sorry but having unlikable characters saying "BAZINGA" each episode does not make good television entertainment.
- CreatorIan BrennanBrad FalchukRyan MurphyStarsLea MicheleJane LynchMatthew MorrisonA group of ambitious misfits try to escape the harsh realities of high school by joining a glee club headed by a passionate Spanish teacher.I find this show to be cliché-ridden and unlikable, plus they often butcher perfectly good songs with over-the-top audio-tuned singing.
- DirectorQuentin TarantinoStarsJamie FoxxChristoph WaltzLeonardo DiCaprioWith the help of a German bounty-hunter, a freed slave sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal plantation owner in Mississippi.A violent gore-fest of a movie in which a 98% of non-minority characters are demonized and killed off violently. It does not help that one of the film's main stars boosted on "how cool it was kill'in white folks", clearly an uncomfortable double-standard (no matter what your ethnicity or race, NO ONE should be demonized and targeted like this)
- DirectorLee UnkrichStarsTom HanksTim AllenJoan CusackThe toys are mistakenly delivered to a day-care center instead of the attic right before Andy leaves for college, and it's up to Woody to convince the other toys that they weren't abandoned and to return home. Why oh why does the modern public think this movie is better then all the other Pixar films? Even better then The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, and the other two Toy Stories? Seriously?!
- DirectorSteven SpielbergStarsJeremy IrvineEmily WatsonDavid ThewlisA young farm boy enlists to serve in World War I after his beloved horse is sold to the cavalry. His hopeful journey takes him out of England and onto the front lines as the war rages on.Nothing but blatantly boring sentimental Oscar-bait put out to win awards and ooze the hearts of horse-lovers
