- DirectorJames CameronStarsSigourney WeaverMichael BiehnCarrie HennDecades after surviving the Nostromo incident, Ellen Ripley is sent out to re-establish contact with a terraforming colony but finds herself battling the Alien Queen and her offspring.Sci-Fi horror, classic one of my favourites of all genres.
- StarsDavid SoulJames MasonLance KerwinA novelist and a young horror fan attempt to save a small New England town which has been invaded by vampires.I think think this is the best out of all the Vampire films I can think of, might not be quite in the league of Twilight which made a recent top 20 horror films (lmfao). This is a real scary Vampire film, make sure you watch the uncut version!
- DirectorGeorge A. RomeroStarsDavid EmgeKen ForeeScott H. ReinigerDuring an escalating zombie epidemic, two Philadelphia SWAT team members, a traffic reporter and his TV executive girlfriend seek refuge in a secluded shopping mall.I've watched this film so many times, most probably the bes tof all the Zombie films, watch the original version though, did not enjoy the directors cut.
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsBruce CampbellSarah BerryDan HicksAsh Williams, the lone survivor of an earlier onslaught of flesh-possessing spirits, holes up in a cabin with a group of strangers while the demons continue their attack.Evil Dead 2, really a remake of 1, but I preferred this as I thought Bruce Campbell was great when he was fighting himself, crazy film, with a better budget!
- DirectorLucio FulciStarsTisa FarrowIan McCullochRichard JohnsonStrangers searching for a young woman's missing father arrive at a tropical island where a doctor desperately seeks the cause and cure of a recent epidemic of the undead.Classic, my second favourite Zombie film, A shark vs a Zombie, what more can you ask for, gore, gore and more gore in this great previoulsy banned in the UK film!
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsDonald PleasenceJamie Lee CurtisTony MoranFifteen years after murdering his sister on Halloween night 1963, Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital and returns to the small town of Haddonfield, Illinois to kill again.Classic, great film that went on to give us many sequels, remakes and other similar films.
- DirectorJohn LandisStarsDavid NaughtonJenny AgutterJoe BelcherTwo American college students on a walking tour of Britain are attacked by a werewolf that none of the locals will admit exists.Another classic, great film, seen it to many times though, lol, maybe the best of the werewolf films? Quite like the first Howling as well though.
- DirectorJohn CarpenterStarsKurt RussellWilford BrimleyKeith DavidA research team in Antarctica is hunted by a shape-shifting alien that assumes the appearance of its victims.Another classic, recent prequel fitted quite well with it. Forgot The Fog (original) should be in the top 20 somewhere.
- DirectorJaume BalagueróPaco PlazaStarsManuela VelascoFerran TerrazaJorge-Yamam SerranoA television reporter and cameraman follow emergency workers into a dark apartment building and are quickly locked inside with something terrifying.Great film, love this, remake was good as well. Rec 2, worth a watch as well.
- DirectorWes CravenStarsSusan LanierRobert HoustonJohn SteadmanOn the way to California, a family has the misfortune to have their car break down in an area closed to the public, and inhabited by violent savages ready to attack.Great film, again better than the remakes, but the remakes were okay.
- DirectorTobe HooperStarsMarilyn BurnsEdwin NealAllen DanzigerFive friends head out to rural Texas to visit the grave of a grandfather. On the way they stumble across what appears to be a deserted house, only to discover something sinister within. Something armed with a chainsaw.Eerie classic, was banned at one point, still holds up, forget the remakes all though they're not to bad.
- DirectorTomas AlfredsonStarsKåre HedebrantLina LeanderssonPer RagnarOskar, an overlooked and bullied boy, finds love and revenge through Eli, a beautiful but peculiar girl.Great film, can't beleive they remade it a year later, original was still better in my opinion, watch this ;-)
- DirectorDavid CronenbergStarsJeff GoldblumGeena DavisJohn GetzA brilliant but eccentric scientist begins to transform into a giant man/fly hybrid after one of his experiments goes horribly wrong.Saw this at the cinema, a really good remake.
- DirectorDanny BoyleStarsCillian MurphyNaomie HarrisChristopher EcclestonFour weeks after a mysterious, incurable virus spreads throughout the UK, a handful of survivors try to find sanctuary.A very good modern take on Zombies (sort of Zombies) they're faster, making them a lot more deadly! On TV all the time, has spoilt it a little bit I must admit.
- DirectorTobe HooperStarsJoBeth WilliamsHeather O'RourkeCraig T. NelsonA family's home is haunted by a host of demonic ghosts.Forget Paranormal Activity, this is where these scary Ghosty ones got it all from and of course The Entity which should be on this list as well!
- DirectorClive BarkerStarsCraig ShefferDavid CronenbergAnne BobbyA troubled young man is drawn to a mythical place called Midian where a variety of friendly monsters are hiding from humanity. Meanwhile, a sadistic serial killer is looking for a patsy.I love this film, wish they made the sequel back in the day, a classic, which I think had a lot of cuts in it ;-(
- DirectorSam RaimiStarsBruce CampbellEllen SandweissRichard DeManincorFive friends travel to a cabin in the woods, where they unknowingly release flesh-possessing demons. The original is great, done on a micro budget, well done Sam, look forward to the new one.
- DirectorTom HollandStarsChris SarandonWilliam RagsdaleAmanda Bearse"Fright Night" sees a teenager believing that the newcomer in his neighborhood is a vampire. He turns to an actor in a television hosted horror movie show for help to deal with the undead.I really enjoyed this when it came out, saw the remake recently, wished I had not bothered. Rent or buy the original, part 2 is quite good as well ;-) BUT AVOID THE REMAKE!
- DirectorDan O'BannonStarsClu GulagerJames KarenDon CalfaWhen two bumbling employees at a medical supply warehouse accidentally release a deadly gas into the air, the vapors cause the dead to rise again as zombies.Another great Zombie film, part 2 is good as well, forget about some of these badly made recent ones, try out the 80's horror, much better overaul
- DirectorStuart GordonStarsJeffrey CombsBruce AbbottBarbara CramptonAfter an odd new medical student arrives on campus, a dedicated local and his girlfriend become involved in bizarre experiments centering around the re-animation of dead tissue.Great film, must see, part 2 is worth watching as well ;-)
