- DirectorNick LoveStarsDanny DyerFrank HarperTamer HassanAn insight on the gritty life of a bored male, Chelsea football hooligan who lives for violence, sex, drugs & alcohol. The definitive film on football hooliganism, and the film that kicked off Danny Dyer's career. Dyer plays Tommy Johnson, a late-20s hooligan with Chelsea's firm. Approaching the big confrontation with Millwall in the Cup, Tommy faces some doubts about a life of football violence.
Terrific performances by Dyer, his frequent co-star Tamer Hassan, and others, a great script with subtle commentary about hooliganism as the disillusionment of London's young working class as well as a jab at National Front type anti-immigration politics. - StarsDanny DyerCass PennantBarrington PattersonBased on the Nick Love movie, Danny Dyer explores a social history of hooliganism across the UK over the past half century.Danny Dyer takes you to meet the real top boys and hooligan firms throughout the UK. If you loved The Football Factory, and want to know more about some of the UK's top hooligan firms, this series does it with terrific coverage of the casual movement, the most intense derbies, and the tactics of the Old Bill in confronting football violence.
Dyer is the perfect presenter for the series. He's not a journalist, but he is an ardent fan of West Ham United, F.C., a club with passionate fans and a reputation of football violence. His passion and love for the game come through with every fixture he attends and every pint he shares with a range of characters who vary between complete nutters and rather clever ex-hooligans. - DirectorNick LoveStarsDanny DyerTamer HassanGeoff BellFrankie is sent from London to Spain to make a delivery to Charlie, who likes the kid and shows him the ropes including the use of guns and drugs. Frankie likes the sun, pools and the cute, bikini clad girls and stays in Spain.Danny Dyer again teams up with Tamer Hassan and Director Nick Love to create this fun and colorful portrayal of drug running in the 80s. Dyer plays Frankie, who lands in Spain after a run in with his mum's old man. Wide eyed and a bit green, but with a bit of bollocks about him, Frankie makes his way in "the business."
Terrific 80s soundtrack, beautiful scenery, a hot bird, and Dyer and Hassan getting the job done, what more could you want? - DirectorChristopher SmithStarsDanny DyerLaura HarrisTim McInnernyDuring a team-building retreat in the mountains a group of sales representatives are hunted down one by one.Danny Dyer nails his role in this horror comedy about a group of employees of a defence contractor who head into the old "cabin in the woods" for a team building retreat. While the set up may be the oldest in the book, the film weaves in subtle satire of the Anglo-American defence industry (e.g. a hilarious scene involving a rocket launcher) and corporate culture, as well as parody of the genere's more laughable cliches.
But more than this, Dyer steals the show with comedy time after time with the best one liners and his ability to turn the horror back into something absurdly silly. And as always, he nicks the birds. - DirectorAlex De RakoffStarsClint KoroanFredi 'Kruga' Nwaka50 CentNick's borrowed money from a loan shark. He's 4 weeks behind. He gets 24 hours to come up with GBP100,000. His mom's a hostage.Danny and Tamer at it again, this time needing to raise £100,000 in just 24 hours to pay off a ruthless gangster played by 50 Cent. Just a fun ride from start to finish, with Danny providing a bit of comic relief as Tamer's sidekick in the night's misadventures. By this point, Danny and Tamer have enough chemistry to gloss over the few lulls/holes in the screenplay. In that respect, I think it's really a testament to just how well they work together.
- DirectorJustin KerriganStarsJohn SimmLorraine PilkingtonShaun ParkesFive youngsters embrace the 90s clubbing scene on a drug-fuelled weekend of partying in Cardiff.Danny Dyer's first film has him playing Moff, a disaffected young man just looking to join his mates for some fun on a weekend. An honest film about British youth dealing for the first time with the grind of ordinary life, trying to understand their place and find love or pleasure in a world of drugs, pubs, and clubs.
- DirectorNick LoveStarsPaul NichollsRoland ManookianPhil DanielsGoodbye Charlie Bright is the humorous and heart-warming story of the friendship between two teenage boys from a tough council estate. Set during a long hard summer it charts the close but volatile relationship between Charlie and Justin.Danny Dyer's first collaboration with Nick Love on arguably the latter's best overall film. Dyer plays Francis, one of a group of mates running about in South London nicking purses, etc. Dyer shows a lot of vulnerability in this character, and the film is just a wonderful piece of storytelling. Good supporting performances also by Dyer's Football Factory co-stars Roland Manookian and Frank Harper. Must add that Frank Harper's appearance was short but he really steals the scene that he's in.
