Marvel movies ranked best to worst.
This is my personal list of all the Marvel movies put in order from my favorite to my least favorite. I have seen all the MCU movies at least twice, so none of my opinions are based on a first time theater viewing when "The hype is real".

- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloAfter the devastating events of Avengers: Infinity War (2018), the universe is in ruins. With the help of remaining allies, the Avengers assemble once more in order to reverse Thanos' actions and restore balance to the universe. It does everything I wanted it to do, and then some. Simply beautiful.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansSamuel L. JacksonScarlett JohanssonAs Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.Espionage and modern day Hydra in a Captain America movie directed by the guys who did Infinity War. This is my favorite because it takes its self seriously, it rarely takes the piss and ruins the moment, but instead turns a franchise that could have easily been the first two Thor movies and made lemonade.
It also doesn't hurt that this is very rewatchable. - DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris HemsworthMark RuffaloThe Avengers and their allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe. This isn't a movie, this is an event. It's visuals aren't mind blowing, but they do their job fine. This isn't perfect, but I can't think of another movie that could pull off killing two A-list stars at the beginning and still have half of Hollywood on reserve. Seriously, no movie should have this many actors and work, but it does.
- DirectorTaika WaititiStarsChris HemsworthTom HiddlestonCate BlanchettImprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must race against time to return to Asgard and stop Ragnarök, the destruction of his world, at the hands of the powerful and ruthless villain Hela.Colorful, funny, great action, amazing use of Immigrant Song, kills off all of the dead weight early on and overall the best version of Thor yet. If only the other Thor movies were directed by Taika Waititi.
Unfortunately, while Cate Blanchett is having fun, she wasn't a very memorable villain. Also unfortunately, she is the best Thor villain out of the three. - DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattZoe SaldanaDave BautistaThe Guardians struggle to keep together as a team while dealing with their personal family issues, notably Star-Lord's encounter with his father, the ambitious celestial being Ego.Better jokes, superior soundtrack, excellent character building. GOTG2 doesn't suffer from being the first in a new series, more Michael Rooker, and the villain kicks the hell out of the first. Does it have its issues... yes. Some of the jokes don't land and the plot doesn't kick-in until 2/3 into the movie. But overall it's damn good and better than the first.
- DirectorJames GunnStarsChris PrattVin DieselBradley CooperA group of intergalactic criminals must pull together to stop a fanatical warrior with plans to purge the universe. The comedy works most of the time and the action is surprising good. While it is spectacular; the movie is just a tad inconsistent, the villain is one of Marvel's worst, and Michael Rooker is under used.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansScarlett JohanssonEarth's mightiest heroes must come together and learn to fight as a team if they are going to stop the mischievous Loki and his alien army from enslaving humanity. It's it takes the best parts of all the Phase 1 movies and puts it into one movie. Not as special on repeat viewings thought.
It has TV show lighting and it's not very good for quite a bit, but damn does it pick up in it's 3rd act. - DirectorJon WattsStarsTom HollandMichael KeatonRobert Downey Jr.Peter Parker balances his life as an ordinary high school student in Queens with his superhero alter-ego Spider-Man, and finds himself on the trail of a new menace prowling the skies of New York City.Cringe humor, Michael Keaton, a break out role for Tom Holland, and surprise Donald Glover. If the movie focused more on that and less on action this would easily be number one, but it puts far too much focus on kinda bland set-pieces. As it is, damn good, but not great.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.Doesn't hold as much future consequences as it should, isn't as good the second time and Cap almost isn't the main focus in his own movie, but Civil War is still a fantastic entry in the MCU.
- DirectorScott DerricksonStarsBenedict CumberbatchChiwetel EjioforRachel McAdamsWhile on a journey of physical and spiritual healing, a brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into the world of the mystic arts. This has some of the best visual effects I have ever seen, and is a lot better the second time around+.
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsRobert Downey Jr.Gwyneth PaltrowTerrence HowardAfter being held captive in an Afghan cave, billionaire engineer Tony Stark creates a unique weaponized suit of armor to fight evil. Not as good as I remember, but still good especially considering the state of Marvel at the time.
- DirectorJoe JohnstonStarsChris EvansHugo WeavingSamuel L. JacksonSteve Rogers, a rejected military soldier, transforms into Captain America after taking a dose of a "Super-Soldier serum". But being Captain America comes at a price as he attempts to take down a warmonger and a terrorist organization. This may be because of Thor, but CATFA is pretty damn good. It's just a goofy, fun, but good first movie from an under-rated Avenger.
- DirectorJoss WhedonStarsRobert Downey Jr.Chris EvansMark RuffaloWhen Tony Stark and Bruce Banner try to jump-start a dormant peacekeeping program called Ultron, things go horribly wrong and it's up to Earth's mightiest heroes to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plan.Good, not og Avengers good, but good.
- DirectorShane BlackStarsRobert Downey Jr.Guy PearceGwyneth PaltrowWhen Tony Stark's world is torn apart by a formidable terrorist called the Mandarin, he starts an odyssey of rebuilding and retribution. Not as entertaining as 2, but it is a better film over all.
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsRobert Downey Jr.Mickey RourkeGwyneth PaltrowWith the world now aware of his identity as Iron Man, Tony Stark must contend with both his declining health and a vengeful mad man with ties to his father's legacy. Not as good as the first, but way better than any movie with this much studio interference has any right to be.
- DirectorRyan CooglerStarsChadwick BosemanMichael B. JordanLupita Nyong'oT'Challa, heir to the hidden but advanced kingdom of Wakanda, must step forward to lead his people into a new future and must confront a challenger from his country's past. The world of Wakanda is fantastic, but the visual effects fail it. I liked this more on a repeat viewing, but unfunny comedy and piss poor sound mixing hold this movie back. Everything else is fine though.
- DirectorLouis LeterrierStarsEdward NortonLiv TylerTim RothBruce Banner, a scientist on the run from the U.S. Government, must find a cure for the monster he turns into whenever he loses his temper. This is a lot better than I remember and is unfairly held up to the standards of Iron Man. The Visuals are Ugly even for a 2008 movie, however as someone who remembers the superhero landscape of 2008, I can say it was ones of the better one back then. It may not have aged that well, but it's not that bad.
- DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddEvangeline LillyMichael PeñaAs Scott Lang balances being both a superhero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past. It's fine the movie. Better than the first Ant-Man, but only just. It's refreshing to see such a small scale movie, not having the world almost end every movie is nice.
There are worse ways to waste 2 hours. - DirectorPeyton ReedStarsPaul RuddMichael DouglasCorey StollArmed with a super-suit with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, pull off a plan that will save the world.Very formulaic, the villain is bland, Michael Douglas is bland, and Paul Rudd plays himself. But Michael Peña has some funny mini stories, it has some of the funnest visual gags of any of the MCU movies, and Paul Rudd is his reliable self. Better than the Thor movies, but nothing else.
- DirectorKenneth BranaghStarsChris HemsworthAnthony HopkinsNatalie PortmanThe powerful but arrogant god Thor is cast out of Asgard to live amongst humans in Midgard (Earth), where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.Seeing this again after six years I was greatly disappointed. The first well lit action scene doesn't happen until 1hr 20mins into the movie. I know this isn't the worst Marvel movie, but man is it no goo.
- DirectorAlan TaylorStarsChris HemsworthNatalie PortmanTom HiddlestonWhen the Dark Elves attempt to plunge the universe into darkness, Thor must embark on a perilous and personal journey that will reunite him with doctor Jane Foster.Pros: Good visuals, more action than the first, one of the shortest movies in the MCU. Cons: All of the action is meaningless, no one looks like they want to be there, all performers in this phone it in, very boring, and it has the worst villain of the MCU. Really no goo.
