It is presented by Frameline, a non-profit lesbian and gay media organization dedicated to the support, development and promotion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer visibility through media arts.
  • The festival takes place since 1977. Awards are handed out since 1984.

  • 75,000 visitors attend over 52 sold out shows out of 110 programs.

  • Over 250 works are screened to audiences numbering more than 74,000.

2000
  • 74,000 visitors attend over 45 sold out shows out of 112 programs.

2001
  • 84,000 visitors attend over 35 sold out shows out of 125 programs.
  • Over 84,000 visitors attend over 19 sold out shows out of 119 programs.
