- In South Africa's gold-mining region is the subterranean dimension of the Zama Zama, illegal miners that make a living by mining the ore in both operational and abandoned mine shafts. "Zama Zama" is the personal narrative of two brothers: Malcolm, a successful businessman in the mining industry; and his long-lost brother Joseph, one of those who work in the underground tunnels--playing off against the tension of the mines' punitive actions against these miners. The plot revolves around moral choices: social standing and success versus loyalty to and love of family.
- Thomas and his bosom friends Hannes, Thabo, Lukas and Lilian Jantjies tackle their freshman year at Leeukop High School. Thomas is brave, curious and impulsive. He likes rugby, computer games, music, and pizza. He generally gets along well with his classmates except for De Wet Roux, the school principal's (Eric Nobbs) son, who continually tries to sabotage his plans. Then there are the Marais twins, who have more muscles than brain cells, and Alexandra (Alex) Louw--the most beautiful girl Thomas and Hannes have ever met. Thomas and his friends are a formidable team when it comes to adventures, mystery, plots and unraveling crime. Carina Diedericks-Hugo's award-winning Thomas@ series, published by LAPA Publishers, has already sold 175,000 copies. kykNET and Kokamoya Productions transformed the book series into a television series. Filming took place in Stellenbosch, Western Cape, South Africa.
