In each episode, one story is introduced, the homeowners hopes and dreams for a makeover of a room in their home are explored, and then their worst nightmares are revealed to them by Jay, Neil and their evil crew. As the homeowners reveal their true feelings about the absurd transformation, our tireless pranksters keep straight-faced as long as possible, describing and defending their pièce de résistance, until the homeowner is finally informed Youve been fixed, messed with, this is all a joke! After the fake room is revealed, and some CPR administered, all is forgiven (we hope!) and our guys make it all right - fixing the mistakes, and pulling off the nasty finishings, revealing the beautiful space our good-sport homeowners were hoping for. The homeowners are ushered back into the space for the real reveal and after hugs and kisses, its on to the next victim, er, homeowner The 26 half hour episodes of season one will be as visually unique as the concept itself. Super-8 home movie style treatments will be used for family b-roll and the shooting style throughout will be hand-held, fast and immediate. Together theyve pooled their talents to create a beautiful home that will be theirs forever. Hell build it; shell design it. Piece of cake - right? Well, its hard enough to do this for other people, but for yourself? With plans for a two-storey addition and a renovation of the current kitchen and two bathrooms, the project will get interesting fast! Jenn & Chad also have very different ideas on how to do it. Hes obsessed with modern; her esthetic tends toward the traditional. Add to this the fact that while renovating, the entire family will be living in a cozy 2-bedroom apartment close by - living, working and raising a family 24-7! Theyve budgeted $150,000 for the entire renovation. Its a huge project and the budget is tight, so theyll have to really prioritize their hopes and dreams. This is not a flip. These renos are for keeps, so every key decision will need to stand the test of time. Their oldest, 7-year-old Devon, is energetic and very independent. - Mark will be working with two other chefs, Fallsview Executive Chef Frank Seig, and Vineland Estates Executive Chef Jan-Willem Stult. For this six course VIP dinner for 90, including celebrities like Michael Buble, Paul Anka and Andrea Bocelli, the chefs will take 2 courses each. The dinner will be taking place in a room that is still under construction, with no kitchen. It will be used for the first time ever for this special dinner.
