As the intro of the song begins, Gaga is shown leading a funeral procession, carrying the Sacred Heart on a pillow. When the lyrics begin, she sits on a throne wearing an elaborate headpiece and binocular-like eyepieces, with a smoking pipe in her hand, watching her dancers perform a rigorous routine in the snow. Gaga is then seen as the character Sally Bowles from Cabaret, dancing and simulating sex acts with three men on a stage with twin beds surrounded by spotlights, all wearing nothing but underwear, inter-cut with shots of Gaga lying on a larger bed dressed in a red latex nun outfit. She subsequently appears dressed in a white hooded robe, reminiscent of Joan of Arc, with her dancers, interspersed with a shot of her as the nun, consuming a set of rosary beads.

- The video begins with the aerial shooting of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and a banner shot with the inscription "Britney Spears Live From Miami The Onyx Hotel Tour Las Vegas" featuring Spears holding a leather ribbon. Spears and her boyfriend come to the hotel in the limousine. They sit separately from each other and look in different windows. The guy is talking on the phone, and when she tries to touch him, he pushes her away. The entrance is full of fans and paparazzi taking pictures. When they come out of the machine, fans, and the paparazzi are aggressive and instigate a fight in the crowd. While her bodyguards are trying to protect her, her boyfriend throws magazines in the paparazzi. During these scenes Britney is hit on the head by a camera, and it starts bleeding, but she keeps going.

The video begins with close-up shots of several items, including a soft-drink glass, a bottle of milk, marshmallows, and pages from a briefcase, falling onto the ground. Several couples are shown removing their clothes, stripping down to their underwear, and proceeding to kiss and caress each other. Minogue then rises up from the inside of a "mountain of writhing bodies" and a flock of doves flies around them. She continues singing the song while laying atop the pyramid of couples and changes her position as the song approaches its second verse. A convertible standing in the middle of a road is shown releasing a bunch of white balloons from its top. The scene switches back to Minogue, from where the camera pans upward to reveal a large white inflatable elephant floating in between two skyscrapers. The flash mob continues growing in size and the height of the pyramid increases.

Animated, mirrored inkblots morph into another, while taking on ambiguous shapes. Both Cee-Lo and Danger Mouse appear in the shapes, as do the band's gunshot/heart logo, "Satan", a cranium and various animals, including centipedes, birds, bats, spiders, and insects.
