- After an unpleasant argument with his dad, a boy has interesting adventures all around London town as he runs away from home and is sought by police.

- Victoria along with Sam and Pedro come under attack by Apaches along with a baby and his grandfather. They are fifty miles from the ranch with the Apaches staying on their trail with horses that are wore out and no food for the baby.
- Dan Casement returns on the hunt for three men who burned his ranch and killed his grandson. He rescues Buck and then returns to the High Chaparral to return a crucifix Victoria had given to his grandson Joey while Sam decides to help him.
- Buck finds silver on a nearby ranch and talks Manolito into partnering with him to buy the ranch. However, both find their free lifestyles catching up with them. They buy the ranch but wonder how to pay it off when they learn the truth.
- Blue needs new boots and the ranch needs supplies but cash is limited. Big John agrees to let Blue join Buck on a trip to town for supplies along with Manolito. However, the three lose their guns and the money on poker, drink, and women.
- A female friend from Manolito's very early days returns to visit his dad's ranch. She has refused an arranged marriage and is a free spirit much like Manolito. He decides she is the one but Comancheros stop his plans when they kidnap her.
- Three escaped convicts from Yuma kill a girl with gypsy shepherds. They come upon Big John who they knock out and leave in one of the convicts clothes to blame him for the murder. The herders want $15,000 the convicts hid for his release.
- Bounty hunter Johnny Ringo has been sent by the Army to arrest an Apache hiding with the Apaches for murder and theft. As feared it causes a break in the peace putting the ranch in danger and the near killing of the Cannon men and hands.
- Both the High Chaparral and Montoya's hacienda are threatened by a man who wants revenge for having his hacienda sold by the government to Montoya. Adding to the problem, he was the childhood sweetheart of Victoria, who he wants back.
- An Army shipment of rifles is stolen by Apaches. Blue is taken captive by the Chief Morales until Big John proves the Apaches were not involved in the attack. Manolito locates the real culprits but no one knows it or his location.
- Buck runs into his Captain from the war in the Army as a Sergeant leading a patrol and wagon of gold to Yuma. They need a scout. He takes on the role only to find his friend and men are stealing the gold and crossing into Mexico.
- Buck arrives two days early with a herd for which Big John must pay. He sent Manolito to pick up the money from his father but he is late. When the money is stolen, Manolito tries to make amends by recovering the money to save the ranch.
- Buck finds two wandering Apache boys chasing a steer. He gets Big John's approval to train them as cowhands. Skeptical locals assume they killed a rancher. After some hands are killed, the missing boys are assumed to be involved.
- Buck unknowingly hires a group of Army deserters at the same time an Army patrol stops at High Chaparral documenting fights with the Apaches. When a troop takes high level Apache hostages, Cochise attacks returning the favor.
- Blue has his eye on a $300 silver saddle but only $18. He and the men decide they can win the money at the Fourth of July rodeo. When only John wins at the rodeo, it is left to Blue filling in at a prize fight for the boxer he hurt.
- John Cannon's family arrives at a ranch near Tuscon, Ariz. His wife names it High Chaparral. They learn they have two enemies. He hires ranch hands, recovers his cattle, but loses his wife to an Apache arrow.
- Big John brings in a newspaperman to publish a paper in Tucson. He hopes it will pressure the governor to clean up the criminal element. However, Pogue who leads and protects the criminals wants Ebenezer dead as he has a past with him.
- After spotting a blonde white woman with a group of Apaches, Blue cannot resist the urge to free her against the advice of Buck and Manolito. He frees her but is captured and her Apache husband wants her returned in return for Blue.
- On the way to a wild time at Fiesta in Mexico, Buck runs into the sport of boy fighting in a cantina. He rescues the losing boy from the fight and his owner but finds the boy and himself in danger from the men he took the boy from.
- Sam receives a letter causing him to return home to kill a man who is also a good friend. The men learn from Sam and his brother Joe that Sam has a wife and daughter. Worried the men decide to follow to support Sam's quest for revenge.
- The next day is Thanksgiving so Victoria and the hands have a desire for turkey but the only source is a man squatting on Big John's land. Starting with a turkey shoot in Tucson the men have ups and downs in having a traditional holiday.
- When bandit and his son are separated, Victoria finds the boy walking in the desert. Against Big John's wishes she tries to take in the boy. When she learns the school has no teacher, she fills in to help the boy and other kids.
- Buck and Manolito decide to take some time off to "work" at their own ranch. They can't agree on what needs to be done while Comancheros are waiting to steal the horses they round up and kill them for stealing their horses earlier.
- Blue's style of drawing draws teasing from the men and Big John's concern he is ignoring his work. Victoria submits his work back east where it is published. When he receives an offer to go back east to study, Big John is hurt.
- When three men believe they have found gold on the High Chaparral, Big John orders the area destroyed. The three men decide to fight back putting the Cannons in danger and cause Buck to have conflicted feelings about Victoria.
- Tulsa Red arrives at the ranch asking Big John for $5000. When he refuses, Tulsa threatens to kill Buck the next time he comes to Tucson. Big John decides to pay but when Buck learns about it, he retrieves the money in spite of the threat.
- With Sam gone Big John is driving the men crazy trying to run the ranch alone. They nominate Joe to take over as foreman to which Big John agrees. However, problems surface over one of the new hands Joe hires who he knows has a bad past.
- Buck falls for pretty tomboy freighter Charly Converse, who is in a fight with another freighter who does not play fair. The Cannons find Charly interesting as Buck decides with Big John's okay to help her win a contract.
- A Marshall asks Big John to help form a posse to join him on the trail of the Mexican bandit El Lobo who has been terrorizing the US. Big John and Buck know he is hiding on Montoya land which means trouble due to the pact with Montoya.
- Victoria's father visits and tries to take advantage of the custom Mi Casa, Su Casa which irritates the Cannons. It also creates trouble with the Apaches when he accidentally gives away Apache cattle putting the ranch in danger.
- Buck and Victoria are held up as they travel to her dad's hacienda with $1500. Victoria is taken hostage by the robbers and forced to work as the hostess in a bar. Buck heads after her but is captured so they plot their own escape.
- An old friend and her daughter show up at the ranch looking for Buck. She wants him to locate her husband who left her. Buck loves her so it is a hard job to accept and he runs into a reluctant husband along with thieves who want her ring.
- Miners have gone on strike at a nearby mine. Manolito has been working with their leader and is trying to convince Big John to help as well. When the law proves to be one sided, Manolito's help causes the situation to blow up - literally.
- Buck and Manolito go with Victoria to protect her on the way to another ranch to help deliver a baby. However, an attack by Apaches lead to Victoria being taken hostage by an Apache followed by three bank robbers who threaten to kill her.
- After the stage Victoria is on is attacked by Comancheros, she finds herself in the desert with an injured man who she learns wants to kill her husband. While trying to find the way to Tucson, they are captured by the Comancheros.
- Victoria returns to her father after a spat with Big John interrupting her father's time with the visiting Countess Maria. Manolito competes for her time while she gives Victoria sage advise on relationships as Big John returns for her.
- Manolito returns to the High Chaparral with Montoya's stallion after paying a breeding fee for Big John. On the way back the stallion and his money are stolen. His father persuades Manolito he should make an effort to recover the horse.
- The local priest continues to collect funds each year to eventually pay for the return of a lost religious statue. Still short of funds, Big John offers to make up the difference. However, the well meaning priest has been less than honest.
- A young white man held as a slave by the Apache is chased by them to the ranch house where the Cannons protect him. However, Wind and the hands don't trust him although he says he hates the Apache so they accept him with reservations.
- Buck and Manolito come upon two white girls being chased by Apaches. They are able to save the older girl but her sister is retaken by the Apaches. Buck promises they will attempt to save her sister but everyone knows it is not feasible.
- Big John recalls all the hands to the ranch as Buck finds a wounded Apache who attacks him. The Apache is taken back to the ranch which prepares for an attack. Three troopers arrive who inform them the Apache is Sangre who is their Chief.
- Blue finds a black Army deserter in the desert needing help who says he was mistreated by a Colonel. Blue tells Manolito and decides to return with supplies. However, the deranged man takes Blue hostage into the Apache Forbidden land.
- The Cannon family and hands attend a fiesta celebrating peace. However, when they spot a group of well known outlaws which includes Manolito and Victoria's childhood friend, trouble erupts when they reveal they are scalp hunters.
